I went to Doug Breithaupt for a hearing aid a couple years ago. The day I got it, I told him that I couldn’t understand speech with it(I blocked my good ear and couldn’t understand anything he was saying with the bad ear and the hearing aid). He said hearing aids aren’t perfect and there wasn’t much he could do. I had already paid for it and he didn’t give me an option for a refund. Then today I went to a different audiologist whom I was referred to by my new ENT. She told me that the hearing aid I had gotten from Mr. Breithaupt was not right for me and recommended a different model, which she said I could try for a month before paying to make sure it worked. A hearing aid is an expensive enough item that you should be able to try before you buy, but I didn’t know that was an option with Breithaupt. Would not go back to him in the future; he’s a great salesperson, but I’m skeptical as to whether he’s really interested in finding the best hearing solution for an individual patient.
