Why didn’t I transfer my Rx earlier?! I’ve been a Costco member for years but never thought about getting my prescriptions filled here but I started to look around at mail-order pharmacies for my long-term meds. I called Costco’s mail-order service for a price and they quoted $ 110 for a medication I used to get at CVS for $ 40. Yep, generic, same dosage, same same. I called the in-store pharmacy and got a quote for $ 26 or $ 23 with my membership! I feel like a sucker paying high retail prices all these years.

I have benefits from AT&T with CVS/Caremark. Regardless, many, many times I just go to Costco and get my prescriptions for 20% of what I can get them at CVS or Giant pharmacy without my «benefit». For example, I received 60 tablets of 800mg IBUPROFEN from COSTCO for $ 5.41. The week before, for the same prescription, same dosage, same quantity, I picked them up at Giant pharmacy for $ 25.15. COSTCO is always cheaper.

I don’t have health insurance at the moment and was recommended to try Costco by my doctor a while back. I always thought I needed a membership, but upon reading another person’s review on here, I went with no membership card. I’ve been coming here the past three months and even though it’s a bit out of the way and always crowded, the pharmacy wait is never that bad. The gatekeepers always look at me a little funny when I breeze by them with no card saying I’m going to the pharmacy, but not a big deal. I only wish I would have found out about their prices earlier! I filled a prescription for $ 113.00 at CVS that later cost me $ 42.00 at Costco. Uggggh.

By far the rudest pharmacists I have ever met. The prices are inexpensive, but every time I’ve picked up a prescription from this location the employees always seem to be taking out their hatred for their own jobs on the customers. Find another location if you can, it is not worth the harassment.

As the previous reviewer says, many times the direct cost is less than insurance co pay. It is especially true for long term medication — you can buy ¾ month supply for less than 1 month co-pay(usually 15 to 20 $). Also, YOUDONOTNEEDCOSTCOMEMBERSHIPFORCOSTCOPHARMACY — It is against all state laws to stop entry for a pharmacy with membership. This review is applicable for all Costco pharmacies(I hope there is a national wide listing for chains in Unilocal
