They make you give your personal information when you checkout, and then sell it! Only shop here if you want to get constant spam. My mother in law gave them my personal«family and friends only» email address and mailing address when she bought me a maternity outfit. Now I get tons of junk mail and junk email from all kinds of baby companies. I have called Destination Maternity and they were completely unresponsive to fixing the issue, but didn’t deny that they had done it. It is an invasion of privacy.

When I first stepped in, the service was great, they were very attentive. I was offered water and a bra fitting. I ended up purchasing about $ 100 of maternity clothes when I walked out of the store. There was also a bit of pushing towards buying the magazines with the coupons from several sales associates, but I decided to over look that. Before I reached the parking lot, I realized that I was overcharged $ 10. When I went back in, I tried to explain the overcharge of $ 10, but the associates shrugged it off as a mistake on my part and did not take me seriously. I showed them the $ 10 over charge on the calculator and the entire mood changed. It turns out one of the bras were marked down by $ 10, but the original price still showed. Instead of apologizing for shrugging me off, the associate made me feel as if I had taken a marker and written in the price tag, even though there was at least 5 of the same bras in the same section with the same exact markdown. Despite the great service I initially received, I would recommend going to the Motherhood store within a Macy’s department store(where you can use Macy’s coupons), or Old Navy, where you get better prices and service instead.

We went to the reston store to return some items we had purchased online and didn’t fit well. The lady we spoke with said she was not able to do a return and we can either get a store credit or exchange the items. The reason this store gets one star is because of customer service. We asked the lady if they carry dress pants that are thicker for the winter, she looked at us like we just dropped from the moon, her response was that they carry yoga pants. All along that conversation she was hanging clothing and recovering her store. I have been a retail manager for many years and when you have a customer you need to drop off what you do and take care of the customer. There was no interest in even trying to guide us and be helpful, let alone the clothing selection was not great. Unfortunately we didn’t find anything maybe we will have better luck at a different location

I want to give this place a 5 star, really! Unfortunately I cannot. Reason — customer service and clothing selection. Location — In Fairfax Corner, between Chipotle and Black and White Market. It’s convenient to get here and makes shopping at other places, more fun. Clothing — They have what you need, but not a lot of high end selection. I was hoping to see more(like the one in Charlotte, NC). They do have sales often, so it helps with the wallet. Their clearance section is always minimal on one rack or two. Customer Service — It varies. I loved this older lady, chin-shoulder length hair who helped me. She was soo nice and I haven’t seen her since. Another lady who was helpful was not pushy at all — actually they all weren’t pushy. But on one instance, I asked for a certain clothing and two of the employees didn’t know if they had any more left. Fine, please help point to the direction of the attire. So instead, I walked with the employee and showed me an unflattering outfit and said that was all the size«medium» and«large» it came in. Bummer. But after she left, I browsed on my own. Lo and behold! I found a diff style, the right size under«small», and bought it. The second time, similar situation, same person. That’s my experience.

I had to mention that though the prices are still high on the majority of items, my last experience with customer service there was amazing. The woman who helped me with an exchange for the faulty stitching on the pants was a delight and really very helpful. It’s amazing how one great employee can change to feeling of a whole store. If I continue to get that caliber of service, it will make buying too-expensive maternity clothes a bit easier! All my experiences since the first couple have been stellar. I am now able to navigate the store better and enjoy their frequent sales.
