Fair Fix Cafe

Our «goto» coffee and dinner shop. We’ve been eating here for years, love their fattoush salads and breakfast croissants. Staff is quiet and all smiles.

Great post-​hike or ride nosh. Highly recommend the Mediterranean Platter or Avocado salad, their house dressing is like no other!

The couscous plate was refrigerated and thrown into the microwave, and almost $ 10…not fresh and very dry.

I was really craving a hot coco at 930. They close at 10. As i arrive at the doors i see a lock on the door. I did not get my hot coco. they closed earlier… :(

SO disappointed with the service. For the last 2 years I have been coming to this café twice a week and I always get something & do my hw. Today, like any other time I went but realized I forgot my wallet in the car and since it was raining I didn’t want to walk all the way back to get it. I begin my hw and overhear the man working say «is she a regular?» (which i thought was rude them just talking about someone openly like that) and then I turn around and the man goes «can I help you with something?» and I say «no thank you» and he goes «if you aren’t going to buy anything you need to leave» EXCUSE ME??? i wasn’t even using their wifi or anything. It was SO RUDE!!! I walked back to my car (in the rain) and went to the café across the street. NEVER ever going back! SO RUDE! the fact that this man kicked me to the curb when i was in fact a regular and into the rain just so unbelievably rude. Wouldn’t even give them a star but Unilocal forces me to.

I needed a quiet solid place to study for a while so i decided to go in Fairfix and hang for a bit. I ordered the tofu burger, which is pretty good and some iced coffee, decent. Warning: if you decide to go mid afternoonish on a weekday, you might get the flock of highschoolers just getting out of school which tends to get a bit loud but overall a good spot. Customer service is okay. A couple that need to work on being genuinely kind to ALL customers not just the ones they like.

I have been coming here for many years. Great, fresh, lots of vegetarian dishes.
Staff is polite and very good.
Try the Shakshuka a Middle Eastern egg dish with a real tasty sauce and pita bread to eat it in.

Low-​key, cool temp, great coffee, speedy wifi, nice staff. Nice amount of room in between tables. Not loud and crowded. If you’re a serious coffeehouse person like myself, you’ll love to relax or get productive here.

Nothing says «Home» like fairfix!!! The grilled chicken sandwich has gotten even better (amazingly juicy and tender) their salad dressing is the best.

These are the places that make me so appreciative of Unilocal.I brought my (huge) family here as we were passing through, and they all wanted to know how I found it. There was something on the menu for everyone. We all sampled everyone’s orders and there wasn’t a single thing (out of ten different plates) that wasn’t completely amazing. My Mediterranean Plate was better than Mediterranean Plates I have had IN the Mediterranean.
Other favorites from our group were the Goat Cheese (seriously, I could eat it with a spoon) and a Caprese Sandwich. I wish I lived here so I could eat here every other day. So maybe the service isn’t amazing, but… the food is so worth it, who cares?! If you’ve been to the Mediterranean… that’s kind of standard anyway. Great food, straight-​to-​the-​point service.
I’d spend my last meal here, really.

Two words: Med Plate.

This place is terrible. The woman behind the counter is unbelievable.
I ordered a Thai salad and a large bowl of soup ($ 5.50) and neglected to look inside the bag when I paid for it. When I got to my car, I glanced down and assumed they must have given me a small container of soup. I walked back in with it and the woman’s attitude pretty much sucked. Safe to say, customer service is not her niche:
Me: «I think you gave me a small container instead of the large.»
Woman: «Nope, that’s our large. (blank stare) What do you want me to do about it?»
Me: «I’m feeling a little ripped off with this tiny size and the price I paid for it.»
Woman: «Look, I just sell stuff here. The owner sets the prices, and if you want to complain, you’ll need to call him directly.»
She tries to hand me the phone so that I can call in the middle of his restaurant and complain in front of the other customers (brilliant).
Me: «No. I’ll call him from home, give me his name and number.»
This is the unbelievable part… SHE DID! I walked out with his name and cell number.
When I got home, I measured out the soup and it was exactly 1 ¼ cup of soup. She told me it was so expensive due to the amount of chicken in it. Nope… not enough chicken to justify this — tons of rice, celery and carrots though.
I will never go back to this place due to the lack of customer service. Simply adding a small container of soup would have at least made me feel better and I would have left happy instead of ticked off (or ripped off). There are too many other nearby tasty places to visit to waste ones time and money here.

Great lunch. Loved everything we had: yellow split pea soup (yum!), ham, egg, and cheese croissant (big!), and Thai chicken salad (fresh). We will definitely come back again.

Want a great salad and reasonable price come to Fairfix café they knowhow makes great salad just have a spainch salad it was excellent

Great salads always & don’t even get me started on the bagels I usually get mine with cream cheese tomatoes and onions oweee so darn scrumptious!

I’ve been going to Fairfix for the past decade and the food is always A+. I always order the grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia and I’m never disappointed. However, in recent months when I come in to eat, the woman working the register has been quite rude. I understand it’s hard work, but when I go out to eat, I prefer to be treated with kindness and respect, qualities that this woman lacks. I always smile and give a tip, yet she treats me and even my peers like a lesser. Other than that the food is awesome.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my tofu avocado bagel fix! The staff has always been very respectful to me when I visit and generally it is a short wait.

Amazingggggg fatoush salad! I absolutely love that salad. Their Mediterranean Vegi wrap is tasty too. When I was eating meat, their chicken sandwich on focaccia was my favorite dish too. Great little afternoon or evening hang. It’s so comfortable, I feel like I can go there anytime and grab coffee with whatever kind of people I’m with or just by myself to get some work done at the window-​side tables. Great vibes. Nice staff who remember you when you come in! Downside: cash only; but they have an ATM inside so you don’t have to worry.
Love eating at Fairfix every time.

Great outdoor seating. And their Caprese sandwich is really good. The only downfall is that they do not take card.

I used to like Fairfix more when I first got to know it in 2009… but times have changed. They seem to have revised some policies, where formerly free wifi is now at cost, and there is a persistent grime around the place, which may be from the food being cooked.
It’s an enjoyable neighborhood spot and has conveniently long hours. But their attention to customers and the café experience seems rushed rather than caring.
