Green Clean Works

SInce everyone else voiced it so well I won’t bother repeating what has already been said.
I will add, however, that I also purchased the Groupon for 2 four-​bedroom cleanings. They never answered the phone and their website is now down. I have contacted Groupon for a refund.

They were very friendly but the service was totally incomplete and sub-​par. I paid extra for oven cleaning — which didn’t happen and then they clearly just left halfway through cleaning. The sponge and cleaning spray were literally still sitting on top of my wooden desk — staining it. They called to see how the service was but it was almost 2 weeks later and I was so annoyed about it that I never gave the guy a call back. Really, pick up your slack next time guys.

If I could give this company ZERO stars, I would. We first heard about Green Clean Works through Groupon. I was 8 months pregnant and my husband wanted to treat us to a good house cleaning since it was becoming increasingly hard for me to do such chores. They came out, cleaned our small 3 bedroom house, and were very pleasant. While the cleaning job wasn’t the best, it was ok. The price was decent through Groupon and I felt that we got what we paid for– an ok cleaning for an ok price.
Later on, Green Clean works emails us directly and offered a promotion stating they were extending the Groupon price– purchase 4 cleanings and the 5^th cleaning is free. So we purchased it– we figured once our baby was born our house would need some regular cleaning. So we bought this promotion (paid $ 340) and arranged for the first cleaning. They came out and cleaned the house and did a good job. The two ladies were very sweet and obviously paid very close attention to the kitchen and bathroom. So far, so good! We were pleased, but this is where the good times end.
We scheduled a second cleaning around the time we figured our child would be born so that when we returned from the hospital, our house would be squeaky clean. We scheduled this ahead of time, confirmed it, and arranged for a family member to be at the house to let the cleaning people in (since we were still in hospital). Our family member waited three hours for the cleaning people to arrive and they never showed up. My husband called the company and was told that he never confirmed the appointment and would have to reschedule. We were disappointed but rescheduled. After all, we had paid up front and wanted our money’s worth.
The next (and last time) someone came to the house to clean it, I explained what I wanted done: floors cleaned, kitchen and bathroom cleaned, sheets changed, dusting, etc. Nothing major and these were basically the same requests that I had asked for during the prior two cleanings. I had to leave for a doctor’s appointment, and did not return until the cleaning lady had already left. Upon returning home I was really disappointed with the cleaning. The floors had not been touched. In fact, there was still dirt and debris on our wood floors. The basement had not even been visited. The bathroom was barely cleaned (the toilet was still dirty) and dust was still visible on much of our furniture. Once again, my husband called (no response), left messages (no response), and emailed. After emailing, he finally heard back from the VP of Operations and she apologized, and offered to come out herself to supervise a cleaning. Her excuse for the poor cleaning? She blamed it on the weather! She said the cleaning team had to leave early because of bad weather. Seriously??? But since she offered to come out herself and re-​do the cleaning, we decided (once again) to give Green Clean Works another chance.
We arranged for another cleaning, I waited around all morning, and after an hour and a half of waiting, no one showed up or called to explain where they were. Once again, my husband called (no one EVER answers), left messages (no one ever returns calls) and emailed. He FINALLY heard back via email explaining that due to a family emergency, the cleaning team could not clean our house. Thanks for nothing Green Clean Works.
IT IS ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY. And we feel that after a good start, this company suckered us in, stole our money, and is not holding up their end of the bargain. DO NOT pre pay for this company. Better yet, DO NOT arrange cleanings with this company. They are unprofessional, incredibly hard to reach or schedule with, and unreliable. We are currently in the process of fighting to get our money back since we have been let down by this company time and time again.

I bought a Groupon and tried to book a house cleaning. I was unsuccessful after 5 months. Every cleaning that I booked was canceled by the company, and most emails and voicemails went unreturned. Green Clean Works NEVER picks up their phone. I wish I could recommend the quality of the cleaning service, but I can’t– I gave up on the company and had my Groupon refunded!

They did an ok job, although part of it was because I had to point out areas that were neglected to make the cleaning complete, e.g. wipe down of glass shelves in the bathroom, wipe down of kitchen cabinets, mopping of bathroom floors. And they didnt empty the trash as promised.
However, after the service my house did smell clean …
And Im not surprised to report that no vegetable basket was provided, I was told that someone would deliver it once it became available. Lets just say I wont be holding my breathe.

I purchased a Living Social deal for cleaning from Green Clean Works, with somewhat mixed results. Scheduling the cleaning required a bit of persistence on my part, as I was never contacted after filling out the initial form requesting an appointment, but when I called I got an answer and my appointment was scheduled quickly.
My house looked fairly nice when I got home. Things had clearly been tidied up, furniture had been vacuumed, counters had been wiped down, trash had been removed. On a big picture level, they did a fine job. Not exactly impressive, and maybe not worth $ 100+, but they definitely improved the place.
The biggest reason I won’t be hiring Green Clean again is the cleaners’ lack of attention to detail. Trash bags were removed from trashcans, but bags were not replaced. The floor had been swept or mopped fairly nicely but little bits of trash remained on the floor. The bathroom vanity was nicely wiped down and cleaned, but the tub did not receive the same attention. Also, although the cleaners did not smoke in our house, they left a pile of cigarette butts on the grass next to our driveway. The amount of additional effort the cleaners would have had to expend to make this cleaning go from acceptable to very good really wasn’t that much, but they just didn’t do it.
One last note, a point I noticed reflected in all the other reviews. Green Clean Works prominently advertises on their website that they leave a fruit or vegetable basket behind once they’ve cleaned up for you. When making my appointment, I had to select an option for vegetables or fruit, and when I spoke to someone to confirm my appointment, they confirmed that I’d requested fruit. And yet, like every other review I see here, there was no fruit basket to be found when I got home. I’m just baffled by this. I don’t need fruit. I wouldn’t make my choice one way or another based on what kind of minimal goodies a cleaner would provide me. And apparently Green Clean Works never actually provides the fruit. So why offer it? It’s like they’re going out of their way to find additional ways to let customers down. If it’s too difficult to leave a bowl of fruit at every house, just don’t say you’re going to do it and I wouldn’t care. But why promise to do something you apparently never follow through on?
Offering fruits they don’t provide, offering Groupon and Living Social deals that they apparently have trouble keeping up with, and the inconsistent level of quality of cleaning all strongly create the impression that the people in charge of this business really are kind of fumbling around. It was nice to come home to a mostly clean house, but I think this business has a long way to go before they start generating repeat customers.

I don’t really know what to say about this. They did a good job cleaning my house, so they deserve credit for that. But, a number of cons:
1. If this is «green» cleaning, I don’t understand the term. They had pledge, clorox and mr. clean in their cleaning baskets… not at all «green» cleaning in my book.
2. they showed up two hours late. and they told me their car broke down, only to find out later that they were lost, and lying kinda annoys me.
3. I used a Living Social deal, and it was worth the money I paid. I definitely wouldn’t pay «full value».
4. they didn’t clean my glass door. i mean, who misses that?
5. they offer you a complimentary fruit or veggie basket… but i never got it…

My complaint initially was about not being able to contact them. After I finally got a response through email after emailing them, my complaints became about the service. Not only did they not completely clean my place, they did nothing in the master bedroom/​bathroom, no mirrors, no tabletops or dresser tops, left dirty dishes in the dishwasher, did not clean the fridge (as promised), the one room that they did vacuum was done with MY vacuum and they didn’t leave any basket even though I specified what I wanted on their ineffective «form». They also left a parting gift that someone wanted to state that it could’ve be mine or my husband’s. Neither one of us has a name that begins with a C and we’re not into switchblades, so the name-​labeled contraption was not ours. They even left it on the dresser that they didn’t wipe off in the room that received absolutely no servicing. I have other complaints about that one visit out of 3, but I don’t feel like getting into it right now. I received credit from Groupon, but now I question their integrity for offering their services again. NOTE: This cleaning service stated that they may have received a «handful» of complaints out of 500, but you cannot tell me that they have serviced all 500 orders prior to this moment. I am sure complaints are to follow.

Wow!!! As I have seen a pouring of reviews through so many sites regarding this company. They had a groupon thing that I would have excused all this craziness because of the overwhelming numbers that came about through Groupon, but it’s not all regarding that. This company is just simply unorganzied, and really needs to be shut down. It wouldn’t suprise me after all this there company tanks.
So I waited about almost 2 months to use my Groupon just because I figured it would be an overwhelming amount that whatever date I asked would have been booked.
First– I called no one ever got back to me EVER! I don’t know why they even have a business phone. I looked on there site and it had a form to fill out, filled it out (mind you the site said someone will get back with you within 24 hours) 2 days rolled around. nothing! Third day I called again, nothing, I emailed and wahla! a response within 45 mins saying they can work on the date I requested. The day before I would have thought that they would give me a courtesy reminder of the cleaning, nothing. So I emailed them to make sure the cleaning crew was ok with that date and time. again Wahla! I got a email response within I believe 45 to and hour saying yes it was ok.
The day of them coming which was supposed to be 3:30pm no show. I waited until 4pm I tried calling the companies number and nothing I emailed them and around 4:30pm I got a call back from a «Manager» who apologized and said the cleaning crew was backed up and they needed to reschduel to that Monday (my orginal appt was on Friday) When I spoke with the «Manager» he said 10:30am on Monday I said that was fine. 20 – 30 mins later I recieved a email to whoever is this person who response through email in the company to confirm my appt for Monday at 3:30pm and that I spoke with a manager. I sent a email back stating that I did speak with the manager, but he said 10:30am I stated I need to be 200% sure of the date and time so there are no mis communications on any end, so she confirmed 3:30pm Which was perfectly fine. Monday rolls around 3:30pm no-​show once again! 3:45 I call the 877 number that’s on the site… no answer! (shocker) I call the number that the «manager» called me from and he picked up and said he wasn’t with a cleaning company??? I thought was the strangest thing and at this point I’m boiling inside because I felt like a complete fool and scamed. 20 mins after that call another Gentleman name Teddy who called from a «Private» number and did all the apology’s and said the driver was in a car accident on the highway blah blah and that if they could once again reschedule for the next day the same time, I had to put my husband on three way at that point because I was beyond pissed that I had so much trouble with one company and once again something happened where they had to reschduel. They reassured me that someone will come and clean and they would give me an extra cleaning session.
Cleaning job– They did what was expected, that was fine. I didn’t recieve my vegetable basket but that was fine. They took out the trask that was in there.
My complaint beyond the obvious, is I doubt that all these issues had to do with Groupon and the amount that they had. reason being You can never get a hold of them through the phone, they could have offered a managers number or something and when someone did call he all of a sudden is not with the cleaning company and the other person calls «private» very shady company and just out right shut down waiting to happen. The way they have handled this entire process pissed me off. If they were using Groupon for more business, well they just screwed themselves there. If they get any business after this I’ll be shocked.
Will NEVER use that company again. P. S. and the Manager that came the day of the cleaning tried to give me a deal of 4 cleanings… yeah no thanks! you’ll take my money and run next time. I’m done!

This company dissapointed me greatly. I bought a Groupon for $ 75, which supposed to be valued at $ 155, to clean my very small one bedroom apartment. The $ 75/​$ 155 Groupons were geared towards two bedroom homes. Therefore, I had spoken with one of Green Clean Works employees prior to confirming a cleaning date to make sure the individual who cleaned my apartment would be able to do some extra attentive cleaning. He assured me they would. I filled out their online form requesting extra attention be placed on cleaning my floors and my kitchen.
When the housecleaner arrived (with someone else from Green Clean Works who just dropped her off), I reiterated my desire to have extra attention paid to the floors. I asked that the couch please be moved, for example, to clean underneath it and, of course, offered to move it myself when it was time to do so. The person who dropped her off and who was in charge seemed to clearly understand what I was requesting and did not indicate any of it would be a problem. This also happened to be the same person I spoke to on the phone previously.
I did not know until the housecleaner was done approximately an hour and 40 minutes later that she did not understand English well enough to have understood me when I indicated I desired extra attention be placed on my floors. It was also evident this information had not been communicated to her, although I had submitted it in the online form and reiterated it upon her and her manager’s arrival at my house.
The woman who cleaned my apartment was VERY nice. I appreciated her pleasant nature and she did an excellent job cleaning my bathroom surfaces. She did a pretty good job on the surfaces in my kitchen and bedroom. However, the floors were not done well at all. The kitchen floor was clearly not mopped. I ran a wet paper towel over much of it after she departed and it was very obvious that no mopping had occurred. The living room was a little better, but it appeared as if nothing was moved, there was still loose debris in the corners/​edges, and, while some mopping had possibly been done, it was clearly not comprehensive.
Bottom line: the service provided was not at all worth $ 155. It was probably not worth $ 75. I understand Green Clean Works made less than $ 75, due to the nature of Groupon. However, the service was supposed to be $ 155 service. With that, I would surely hope that at least the very basic priorities would be addressed and the obligation to thoroughly clean my very small apartment would have been met. The fact that my primary request to fully clean the floors was essentially ignored reflects poorly upon their level of customer service. Someone with an appropriate Spanish-​speaking ability should have communicated the information submitted on the website to the housecleaner prior to arrival at my home. Or else, someone who could translate could have accompanied her. Or, if I had been advised in advance that the language barrier would be an issue and the information I provided online would not be communicated to her, I could have looked up the appropriate spanish verbiage to communicate this to her myself.
Also, I understand Green Clean Works were probably unusually busy at the time as a result of the Groupon offer, but an hour and 40 minutes for $ 155 worth of services does not seem adequate.
As an aside, I did not receive either a fruit or vegetable basket, as advertised. Also, a day after the cleaning I noticed that one of my candles/​candle holders in my bathroom was broken and placed back in its original spot. I don’t care about the fruit or veggie basket and the candle/​holder was really cheap — a couple bucks at most, so I don’t care about that either. But, these are two additional customer service issues the company should address — not promising something they don’t deliver and, if something breaks, it’s no big deal/​accidents happen, but communicating the issue before leaving is important. If I had children in my house, they could have cut themselves on the broken glass.
I sent Green Clean Works an email with all of this relayed to them. I quickly received an email back from a woman who said she was one of the founders. She said she took my concerns seriously and would like to speak with me about them. I responded with my phone number and my availability for a call. No huge surprise: despite me sending a second email as a follow-​up, I never heard back from her or anyone else at Green Clean Works. It has been weeks since my original email to them. I specifically waited to post a Unilocal review to see if they would respond.
Poor customer service taints everything! This company’s dedication to Green Cleaning is admirable and highly desirable. The cleaning wasn’t terrible (I’d give it a 2.5 stars, probably), but the overall experience was a one star due to the extremely poor customer service.

I was excited to purchase a Groupon for a 4 bedroom house cleaning. I have since gotten my Groupon refunded due to the horribly bad customer service I received.
1. Website was not ready to accept bookings initially. No one answered the phone… ever.
2. My initial phone call to them was never returned.
3. I let it go for a couple weeks and then saw that their website was updated and ready for booking. They ask for 2 weeks notice and a choice of 3 days, which I did. I got an email shortly thereafter asking me to confirm a ⁶⁄₂₂ appointment at 8am. I sent an email back confirming.
4. No one showed up for my appointment, which was scheduled for 8am… not the easiest time for a person with 4 kids in the house on summer break, but I really needed the help getting my house clean.
5. No one answered the phone when I called at 10am asking them where they were. So I sent an email.
6. At 11am I finally did get a phone call. The representative blamed me for them not showing up because they couldn’t reach me via cell phone. I guess I had made a typo entering my phone number. But apparently, my email confirmation was not good enough for them. Rep said she would call me back to reschedule. She never did.
7. I sent another email outlining my concerns about their confirmation process. I got a response saying I was scheduled for 6/​24, which I couldn’t do. I responded that that day wouldn’t work and could they please come the following Friday. No response.
8. I sent another email asking them again if they could come on ⁷⁄₁ and here is what they said to me:
«You cancelled your appt and informed me that you would give the Groupon to your friend. WE rescheduled so many times to meet your needs and last minute you cancelled.»
Are you kidding me with this? I never said such a thing. They obviously got me mixed up with someone else. And furthermore, how unprofessional and discourteous can you get? I responded via email saying that I would be requesting a refund from Groupon and that their rudeness wasn’t appreciated, here is the response I got:
«We apologize if you thought this was rude. However, the notes on the account states that you give the groupon to your friend. Will look into this and contact you shortly.»
No I don’t «think» this is rude. I know it is.
Thank goodness Groupon refunded me quickly and courteously. Now off to find a cleaning company that actually knows how to run its business.

I really don’t know what to make of this service.
On the good side, the things that they did were done really well and thoroughly.
On the bad side:
— When they arrived, they told me that they don’t vacuum. This seems … odd for a cleaning service. (Plus, vacuuming is listed as part of their standard service on their website.) They ended up using my vacuum, at my request, but this was weird.
— Their website also lists emptying all trash cans as part of their standard service. None of mine were emptied, including a gross, overflowing one. I guess this isn’t really a big deal except that I’m kind of into people doing what they say they’re going to do, so it irked me on principle.
But the biggest issue was this: They don’t answer their phone. Ever. I called day after day trying to reach a live person to confirm the time of my appointment. I called, I emailed, and I could reach no one. I left message after message. I basically stalked them. Nothing. Finally someone called me back and when I asked what was up with their phones, I was told that their phones had been broken but were now fixed. Okay, fine.
Then, the day before my appointment, they called and asked if they could change the time from 3:00 to 4:00. I said no, because I’d already planned various appointments around the time we’d confirmed. They said that was fine, and they’d be there at 3:00. I am a paranoid, suspicious person, assumed they would be late anyway, and so asked what would happen if I needed to reach them the day of the appointment, since I hadn’t been able to a live person for days before. They assured me a live person would answer.
Sure enough, on the day of the appointment they were late (thus validating my suspicious nature and ensuring I’ll continue to go through life as a suspicious paranoid). I called to find out what was happening, and once again couldn’t reach a live person.
They finally arrived 90 minutes late. They were extremely nice and apologetic about it, and the lateness probably wouldn’t have bothered me as much as it did if I’d been able to reach someone on the phone to find out what was going on. If you’re not going to keep appointment times, you need to have someone answering your phone. Actually, you probably need to have someone answering your phone regardless if you’re attempting to sell people stuff.
Given the sparkling state of most of my house now, I’m inclined to forgive some of these issues, but the phone problems on their own (and the extreme lateness against a backdrop of being impossible to reach) ultimately left me frustrated and unwilling to use them again.
