So, yes, I agree agree with stephen c’s review, this IS your family dentistry if you live in the area and of Vietnamese background. It took me a while to write this review, but here I go. Dr. Lan Nguyen and her practice have been our«family dentistry» for the past… I’m just going to say… «15+ years». My entire family, Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Cousins, etc goes here. Up until the past 3 years, I was hesitant on whether to come back each visit. The reason being is that, I’ve had about 3 – 4 dentist worked on me over the course of 3 years. Not knowing who I would get next during my cleaning visit or other major work sort of gave me anxiety. Especially when one incident happened. I was scheduled for a «major» work on my tooth — a crown. Everything went fine, but the next day, I started feeling pain. So I then contacted the office, in which they advised me to take some Tylenol. Ok– makes sense, pain from the work after the anesthesia wore off. After 3 days go by, my pain worsen. Not knowing what was going on, I immediately requested a visit, taking off work. I went in and was told that I needed a root canal underneath my crown — OKWHAT?! After the long work of sizing and placing the crown over my tooth, I was told that I needed a root canal. It was no ordinary root canal, since I was advised to go to a «specialist». This upset me because I was given the OK to receive the crown. I think it was a careless mistake that caused me to have a hole in my crown. Even after then, I still continued to come back for cleaning. My regular dentist had moved away. Again. Great. Not knowing what it is that is included in my regular routine cleaning, I continued to revisit. During each of my visits there after, I noticed that they were only polishing my teeth. Which basically is «brushing my teeth» with a high power brush. Not until recently when I decided to switch dentist, that I realized, the routine cleaning is more than just polishing and flossing your teeth. There’s more to it: cleaning the inside of your teeth, removing plaque and tartar build up and more. Recommendation: Dr Lan’s practice has been around for a very long time. Everyone that works there treat you like family. Family, meaning it is ok that your time may be pushed to a later appointment time or even give your appointment to your cousin! Back story: I had my bi-yearly routine cleanup in June 2015, of course my next appointment was scheduled. Not knowing that it was given to my cousin, I called to confirm my appointment in December that morning(since I never received an appointment reminder) It appears that it was not in the system even though it was listed on my appointment card from June’s visit. Tough luck. Out of all of the patients she had, It was given to my cousin! I then realized it is time to depart from Dr Lan. In all, I recommend her for the very basic needs and if you feel more comfortable at a bilingual office(Vietnamese).
