This place came out of NOWHERE to be AWESOME!!! We were driving around in a driving rain and pulled over to this place in frustration, just seeking to escape the storm and get a bite to eat. Then we took a step into Mexico. Seriously, everything in here is fresh and incredible. We had a party of 5 and couldn’t get a table for half an hour, but after seeing everyone’s food we were like, we’re waiting! It was soo good! I got tacos, which were simple in fresh tortillas that were freshly made by hand. The tacos were flavorful. I got one of each type and wished I could have 5 of each! Everyone else got some Mexican soups because they looked so good. Seriously, they were awesome. Fresh seafood soups that were ordered in Spanish off-menu based on what we saw other people eating – definitely a great way to go. This is a special restaurant. It’s not nice or expensive. It’s a dive and it’s incredible. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Horrible service! Good food. I suggest you do carry out, but don’t bother dining in. Very rude staff!

We went here on a Thursday night it was busy, but not packed. Within moments of sitting down we were given chips and homemade salsa. Salsa was delicious and chunky, which was nice because most places blend their salsa. I had tacos al pastor, they were pretty good. Decent amount of meat with a heathy bit of onion and cilantro on top. Radishes on the side were fresh. Flavoring on the meat was spot on. The horchata was a little too sweet, but everything else was good. I would have enjoyed having some pickled jalapeños, carrots and cauliflower, but they did not have any. The only critique that kept it from getting four stars is the price. Nearly $ 3 a taco seems a little expensive.

Tacos were good. I forgot to not get onions or cilantro, never the less it was good and not something I could taste. I would come back if I was in the area.

I had the tripe, head, and tongue tacos, and wow! These were amazing tacos. I’m definitely coming back here, and I loved the salsa Verde provided. If you’re a local or just in town for a few days, I highly recommend. Just thinking of the crispy tongue taco I had makes me want to go right back.

I was craving some tacos on cinco de mayo and ran into this restaurant. I’m always on the hunt to finding a legit Mexican restaurant .I ordered the marinated pork, chicken, fried pork tacos and they were so delicious! I also got the fried banana and cream and it was on definitely going back there to try other dishes but since the restaurant is called ricos tacos I had to try their tacos! the server was really nice and hardworking. the restaurant looks a little ghetto but as long as the food is good it does not matter to me.

Had the burrito and took it home. Didn’t stay warm long but the potion was generous and filling. We were told to expect fresh chips but they didn’t taste all that fresh. In fairness, we arrived at 7 and that might have been after the dinner rush. The queso was delicious and a highlight. We will be giving it another try soon.

The place is like a grill. Small but the food is fresh and priced well. True mom and pops Mexican spot. Tacos are $ 2 each and worth it. I’ll be back

When it comes to quality they fail miserably. The worst part about it is that I live right next to them so I go back in hopes that something may change but the only consistent quality about them is their lack of quality. For example, when ever you order platters that include hand made tortillas the tortillas are always cold even though you hear the ladies making them in the kitchen. When you get limes or ask for extra limes they are always the dried ones and yellowing and brown when there are fresh ones right next to it. The service… well let’s just say even if it’s empty in there you’ll still get bad service… As for the authentic platters, nothing is more authentically Mexican than Medudo soup. trust me, I’ve been to Mexico and lived in Arizona and I’ve had plenty of menudo and what they have in Fairfax is not good at all. However, the taco moya in Woodbridge does make great menudo. I think it’s just because of the people running the Fairfax location that this place falls miserably because it’s not like that in Woodbridge… thanks for your time I hope this helps. Young

Its okay. It isnt anything fancy and it wont knock your socks off. I had some taquitos and they were okay. Its basically poor people mexican food. The cuts of meat they use arent great and neither is the presentation. 3 stars because it was alright and edible and the waitress was pretty nice.

Go to Mexican restaurant on Main Street. Food is always good. Funny part about when you get a drink, if you ask for ice water they only give you like four ice cubes.

I went here with a friend to grab dinner on a Wednesday, and I would like to describe how my food was. Only problem was, I didn’t receive half of it. Seriously. The place was near empty so our waitress didn’t really have an excuse to forget. I ordered a quesadilla and a chorizo taco and when only the quesadilla came, I asked if the chorizo taco was coming out soon. She said yes then went and talked to the cook for the rest of our meal. Then she tried to charge me for the taco I never received! Unbelievable. Taste-wise the quesadilla that I did have was decent. Nothing special. My friend complained that her enchiladas were dry. Overall I’m not coming back, and I would advise that you do the same.

The beans are so runny, good lord. Good lord. I ordered the Pollo Milanese and the torta it came out on was delish. The pollo was good but my chicken to bread ratio was like 1:8 :/(ie; the patty was real small). Thankfully, I love bread and salt so after I finished the chicken and still had half a sandwich left I just ate the bread. My husband ordered the fajitas, which looked really good, though he was only given 3 or 4 small soft tortillas along with the massive amount of veggies and meat that came out. The pan was FULL of oil at the bottom, but aside from that I think he liked them just fine. The service was slow(but in all fairness it was one girl to 11 tables) — and to the guy who said he could feel the hate from the waitress just because he was a gringo — don’t worry, bro. She treated everyone with the same, «what can I get you.» LOL

The food was amazing. Very authentic. Had chorizo tacos and pupusas. The food was three stars unfortunately the service barely deserves one star. There were very few customers at the time and I felt highly neglected and practically had to beg for the check. Next time I’ll order to go.

I eat tacos and pupusas here. Lengua and chorizo tacos satisfy my cravings. Squeeze some lime and add hot sauce. You must save room for pupusas revueltas.

Great find hiding in a small strip center. Our first time. The ribs were scrumptious in a green chile sauce. Tacos yummy. Not a fan of their refried beans as they are quite thin. Nice friendly folks. Will come by again… The soups others ordered looked fabulous!

This a decent place for authentic tacos. The carnitas are the real deal. Compare them to chipotle then you’ll realize how good they really are. Until today I would have given this place four stars. But today’s meal shows they cut some corners. I ordered rice and beans with my two tacos(asada and carnitas). The refrained beans were a soupy version of what comes right out of the can. No punch. The rice is most definitely not Spanish rice, Mexican rice or Tex-Mex rice. It was white rice with a tiny, tiny bit of tomato purée and canned veggies. Peas and carrots. But no spice and no cilantro. WTF is that all about? Grade school cafeteria version of a Mexican staple? Fail! So the quality can be hit or miss. But if you stick to the hits, then you should like this place and make it a regular spot for cheap authentic tacos. This place is popular with the local immigrant crowd. I’m often the only gringo on the place. Most of the staff is not native english speaking. But I’ve never had a problem with any language issues. It’s a simple modest taqueria. Decent food and decent service a good break during weekend errands, base to a night of bar hopping or just plain sating of a taco craving. What’s it not good for? Romantic dinners, wine and dine clients, nor ambiance.

Honestly I hate to give small businesses a bad review but I honestly expected a lot more… We got there late on a Monday night and ordered tacos and shrimp cocktail. The tacos were really good like everybody said that the shrimp cocktail was a joke!!! It barely had a few shrimp it was way too tomato based. The worst part of all is that the waitress barely paid any attention to us. We have to keep asking for chips and salsa because she was too busy chatting up with the other waitress behind the counter. I finally just got up to pay only to realize that they charge you extra for chips and salsa after two rounds!!! Any other Mexican place knows chips and salsa are just part of the meal. I’m Never going back and I would highly recommend people stay away from this place. What a disappointment

Met a friend for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this place. This small place is putting out some great Mexican food. Like most Mexican places, complimentary chips & salsa were brought to our table. The chips were warm and the salsa was delicious. They had a decent list of lunch specials and, among the lunch specials, the Fried Fish jumped out at me for some reason. This huge plate of food had a giant fish fried whole served with rice, beans and a salad. The fish was nicely fried and well-seasoned. The rice and beans were great, but the salad didn’t really add anything to the meal. As if it wasn’t enough food, warm corn tortillas came with it. Naturally, I had to make a fish taco and it was quite tasty. There were a couple different spicy sauces available too which elevated all of the great flavors. Overall, the food was great and the service was friendly. It’s not a place I would have thought of stopping by had it not been by the suggestion of my friend, but I’m glad I did. The lunch specials are definitely worth a visit.
