Like stepping back in time… They use iceberg lettuce… Like the 70’s when we didn’t know better! This is s solid 2.

We rarely walk around the City of Fairfax because the parking and the traffic is so volatile. The wife was craving Pot Belly and we snagged parking in one of the indoor lots. We were distracted by the outdoor event being held in the middle of the street. Instead of walking to Pot Belly we chose to walk around the town. The event was not open to the public until 2:00pm so we stopped into The Old Firestation for lunch. Their menu was inviting and we wanted sandwiches. Upon walking in, yes, there is definitely a old firestation feel. They gave us a nice booth up front. It was around noon on a Saturday and the restaurant was empty. The staff was very friendly and came over to check on us numerous times. Our server was in training but he and his trainer offered some nice sandwich suggestions. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and the wife ordered the Ribeye sandwich. The sandwiches could have used a bit more meat. At prices of $ 6.99 to $ 7.5, we felt this was a bargain. Fries are extra at $ 1.99 and then sodas(free refills) were approximately $ 1.95. The fries were fresh and the sandwiches were made to order. The soda seemed flat but it didn’t hurt from our dining experience. They offer bar specials and they seem to host a flurry of regular customers.

The food is excellent. The Gyro is super good and my fiancé had the chicken Alfredo and he raved about it. The waiter was awesome and the owner greeted us after making our food to make sure that everything was made to our liking. Highly recommend as a place to eat.

My group of friends meets here every month, the food is consistently good and the staff more than friendly. The Gyros are perfect, even when I order them with special instructions. The chili is pretty good as well. Haven’t needed to try much else on their menu, as I’m happy with those. The only reason that they didn’t get 5 stars is taht the place is VERY cold in the winter and VERY hot in the summer(it is an old fireststaion, after all). If you are temperature sensitive, you may want to avoid this place.

Really hate to leave a low review for an obviously local-run restaurant but we were unimpressed with our lunch food. All was lukewarm. The kid’s chicken strips were all overcooked except for one which was cooked normally. My steak sandwich was not amazing, but my husband enjoyed his gyro. We were all so hungry and tired that we did not complain. Edible, just not incredible. Probably an awesome bar — great selection on tap — just not impressed with the food. The server was very friendly. Would not return for food but maybe for a beer!

Ate lunch here today and we all got the chicken souvlaki. Very authentic and fresh. The marinade was delicious and sauce was just as good. We were told they have the best steak and cheese subs so going back for that next time.

Tried the Greek combo and Gyro(beef and lamb). Loved them. Server was nice and patient. And very affordable price!(one combo and two gyros only caused $ 12 each for me and my friend)

My Fairfax bar. Amazing bartenders and atmosphere. I love this place and they don’t make the drinks light. Next I have to try the food. Great place to get a drink. Love it

I give it 4 stars because bc I love this place but portions are a bit small, and fries aren’t included on sandwiches(no biggy). Nice little bar with a pub feel. Small inside, not sure if there is more rooms or seats. We were greeted by the owner I believe and a server, both were very nice. After we placed order, food came quick, the food was delicious and well priced. For two ppl we paid 15 bucks, not bad. I had the souvlaki sandwich, and it was really good. Not too big or too small at least for me, but for someone else it might not be enough. the sandwich was not overloaded with chicken like other places and I was able to actually eat it. so I liked the smaller portion and it tasted Better then other Souvlaki I had. Waiter kept checking on us, and so did the owner. But overall good place for drinks and food and it’s open late! I recommend

First time here, we wandered in wanting to try something new on my husband’s birthday. He got the chicken parm and I got the chicken pita sandwich with a Greek salad. The food was great! The service was awesome. We both walked away happy and satisfied. Coming back.

This is a funny little place — don’t judge a book by its cover. My friend and I visited on a quiet Friday evening. It wasn’t our destination, but it looked interesting– like an old fire station-so we stopped in. When we walked in and felt like we walked into someone’s personal bar. Everyone knew each other and we were the outsiders, but the bartender offered a smile, history of the bar and never left is waiting for anything. We quickly felt like we were one of the locals. Enjoying the atmosphere, we decided to order food. The BIG secret. .. Great Greek food. We weren’t expecting anything so we let the bartender chose. He brought us a sampling of their Greek specialties. Yum, yum, yum. LOL, don’t believe me? Try it.

I am a fan of dive bars and this normally would be a place that I would frequent. My coworkers took me here for lunch. They have a great deal on tacos. But, when all three of us ordered sour cream, we were given three helpings of nasty white water that looked nothing like sour cream. We mentioned it to the bartender and he took it off our bills and said«Sorry about the sour cream. It came out of the freezer an hour ago. It does look pretty gnarly». But, he left all three of the servings of said«gnarly sour cream» in front of us. The bartender said something to the owner and his response was«I called the guy about the fridge». Never once saying anything to us. As we were leaving I saw another customer sitting at the bar and he said the same thing about his order of tacos. The owner continued to sit on his bar stool and just said, «Yeah. I’m gonna go get some». He never moved. If you know that it is nasty… Don’t continue to serve it. In response to Harry… Not one of us ate the sour cream. And you are correct, my coworkers did eat there every now and then in the past. «Did» being the key word. They have not been back since. The bartender knew that there was a problem. And, you by your response here knew that there was a problem. Even if you had just found out about the issue from our complaints… why did you continue to serve«gnarly» food/condiments to your other regular customers after us? You may have said hello and said goodbye but, you said nothing when there actually was a problem. Instead, I distinctly remember your conversation about«the Snoop Doggy». My one star review was more about the overall experience. You played a large part in that rating. That being said… The tacos were good bar food. They could have used some $ 0.35 sour cream though.

This is by far my favorite spot in Fairfax City. The food is delicious, the drinks are strong, the staff is great and the owner is awesome. I’m sad to see some people had a negative experience. It’s inevitable, in any restaurant, that a less than stellar person will make it into onto the staff but that’s rare here and quickly remedied. If you give it another chance I’m sure the staff will wow you next time. The food is beyond amazing and they cater! They catered our wedding and everyone, even the complainers, raved about the food. A bonus to the deliciosness was that it as as most affordable place we found. Harry, the owner, is an amazing cook too. They also have an upstairs room for private events. Again, the is definitely my favorite Fairfax find!

Awesome place to stop for lunch! Great, tasty food at very reasonable prices, and the service was excellent. Got 4 tacos for $ 6.00. Also it’s just cool to be eating in an old firehouse! Will be back for sure!

You wouldn’t know it from the name, but The Old Firestation #3 provides awesome Greek food and American favorites, too. Menu offerings include shrimp saganeki, spankopita, and moussaka, along with some Turkish dishes like eggplant imam bayildi. The food is not pretty, but it’s delicious! My favorite was their charbroiled calamari appetizer. As described in the menu, the squid was very tender. Eating their calamari reminded me of a dish that my mom would make for me as a child, squid tubes stuffed with ground pork. Though my mom pan-fried the squid, the consistency was surprisingly similar to what I had more recently at The Old Firestation. Thumbs up! The rest of my order was also very good. We enjoyed the shrimp saganeki, which is shrimp sauteed in white wine, tomatoes, and dressed with feta cheese. The crusty bread provided for dipping was nice. He got the prime rib sandwich, which came with onion rings. I stole a few of said onion rings and loved them. They were uniformly crispy, breaded nicely, and very tasty. As mentioned earlier, you shouldn’t expect fancy presentation in this type of establishment, but the flavors are great. Service was warm and friendly. The Old Firestation is a favorite local hangout, more for the bar scene, but for me, this will be my other spot for Greek fixes(the other one being Plaka Grill).

Great host for our event! We had the upstairs for ourselves with a bartender at our service, she kept them coming. Great Buffett menu of Greek food with plenty left over even after a hungry crowd. Enjoyed the band that was playing by the time we finished up our event. Working on scheduling another event!

Stopped by here for lunch today. I have been to The Old Firestation late night in bar mode and I decided to try out their food. I ordered the hot wings and a steak and cheese. The prices are reasonable. Everything is a la carte unless you order from the kids menu. Burgers and sandwiches are $ 5 – 6 and fries are an extra $ 2. Not bad at all. The wings were good. Not the best wings around as advertised on the menu. The ones at Vienna Inn and PJ Skidoos are better. You get 8 for $ 8.25 and they were pretty large. Their hot sauce is mixed with a hefty amount of either butter, margarine, or both(like Hooters does), which I’m not a huge fan of. The steak and cheese was ok. The largest issue with it was that it came out at the same time as my wings, so it was pretty much cold by the time I got to eating it. Both plates came out quickly, but in terms of pace I did not have an opportunity to enjoy both of my plates. The service was very good. The bartender/server CJ did an excellent job, even considering it was slow for lunch and he didn’t have many patrons to tend to.

Cool place. Stumbled upon this after another restaurant in the area I had intended to go to wound up being closed. Asked the bartender what was good, she mentioned that the owner was Greek, so the Greek food was authentic. I hadn’t had Greek in awhile, so went for the gyro with a side of fries($ 9ish & see picture!) Went with water — only 3 beers on tap, bud light, coors light, & fat tire. Gyro was really very good. Wished that they had spread the tzatziki a little more, I had to deconstruct my pita to distribute it more evenly. Fries were standard. Basically empty around 1pm on a Tuesday. They seem to have a LOT of deals & theme nights: taco night, karaōke, they have a craft beer fest coming up this weekend. Bartender was friendly enough. Owner came in — seemed uninterested in me, didn’t say hi or anything.
