I am privileged enough to know and work with Lela, owner and creator of Trouve. It’s a place of wonder, full of intriguing objects from near and far. It’s another world where quality, craftsmanship, love and play meet.

I am pretty bummed about this review. I am a firm believer in women supporting other women in business and shopping locally but I am really disappointed with the service. I purchased a $ 300.00 necklace from this store and I wore it twice and one of the crystal points broke off while on my neck and slid down my sink! I was devastated. There is no way to wear it with a half cracked pyrite point right in the middle of the necklace. I tried contacting the owner for 6 months — email. Dropped in the store several times to inquire and left messages — not for a refund but so I could contact the artist who I was told was local when I bought the necklace and see if I could have it fixed. Never heard a word. I also purchased a beautiful piece of art for my boyfriend a month ago but I won’t go back. Even if they couldn’t help me with the necklace it would have been nice to be contacted out of courtesy.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Trouvé is a welcoming, excellent, cosy artist store on Bolinas Road in Fairfax. I was recently there with an out-of-state cousin, and an art show«Here, it’s beautiful» featuring Lisa Swerling and Ralph Lazar was on display. We were both highly energized by the creative display of artworks therein. Dreams of decorating our own little homes were whizzing in our heads– all thanks to the quality art we were fortunate enough to experience. I can’t wait to go back and be enthralled by new artwork by the talented artists who call Trouvé home.

I love shopping at such a unique, beautiful shop. If I need a special gift, Trouve is one of the first places I think to stop. So glad a gem like this exists in Fairfax.

Wow, what a special place! Trouve is a magical store tucked away on Bolinas Road in Fairfax. They carry an absolutely beautiful selection of artwork, prints, jewelry, home goods, and other unique items. It is such a charming boutique and I really wish that I could buy everything! The owner Lela is unbelievably kind and she went out of her way to answer all of my questions. She knows all of the history behind everything that she sells, which is pretty remarkable. In fact, she is a very talented artist herself and I was lucky enough to purchase one of her gorgeous pieces this afternoon. I am extremely happy that I wandered into Trouve! The store is incredibly inspiring and it really made me want to dive into some creative work. Thanks Lela for opening such a lovely little shop. I’m so excited to return and find some other new and unexpected treasures!

There’s a little renaissance currently happening in Fairfax as the place slowly morphs from what it was into what it’s becoming. And what it’s becoming is something pretty precious and unique: a couple of streets(Bolinas and Broadway) with interesting, non-chain retail stores(clothing/home furnishings/garden), eateries serving everything from crunchy vegan fare to hearty brats with sauerkraut, live music venues with uke players and west coast swing bands, yoga/dance/pilates studios and more. Trouve falls into the non-chain retail shop category and, with their selection of one-of-a-kind artistic offerings, creates a compelling reason to visit. The small store showcases beautiful things for the home(or body), each one-of-a-kind, hand-created by more than 15 different artists, priced well and reasonably: turned wooden bowls, prints from antique books, laser cut wooden necklaces, blown glass vases… even the background music(M Ward) went along with the independent, sophisticated, artsy vibe. But Trouve is more than just a lovely little retail shop. They’re also a single point of contact for almost any artisan design service you can imagine including: Interior Design Faux Finishes Lamps & Lighting Custom Sewing/Upholstery Metal Work Furniture Restoration, Repair, & Refinishing Color Consultations Wall Finishes & Treatments Murals Fine Art Commissions Cabinet Making Woodworking Private Art Instruction Many stores offer design services but I’ve never before seen one that approaches it from this angle. It’s like the retail shop is a small window into an array of offerings you can only dream and imagine. That Trouve can source you the artists to execute a vision is a most attractive and convenient idea. My head is spinning, imagining the beautiful possibilities.
