Being new to the area I was flummoxed, where to have a surprise party for my dear Irish husband? Lucky for me I chose Anna Liffey’s. Patrick was so helpful in planning the menu which included all of our favorites. My guests were duly impressed with the quality of the food, from the corn beef fritters to the Guiness stew every dish was perfect. The wait staff couldn’t have been more accomodating. My brother-in-law noted, this is the next best thing to being in a pub in Ireland and we all had to agree.

Came here last night only to have the bouncer be incredibly hostile and rude with a group of us who were nothing but polite for whatever reason we stepped outside to smoke and then the bouncer said no re entry after leaving but for whatever reason told us this after we left! After we told him we had friends inside he made laughed and made rude remarks at us! I personally spent around 100 $ on drinks only to be treated with poorly by the staff. I wrote on Anna liffeys wall to let them know how their staff was treating patrons only to be given responses that basically said sorry you feel that way but we don’t care and we don’t plan on doing anything about it

Best bar in Fairfield, and the menu is getting there as well. Authentic and they team pour a true refreshing pint of Guinness. Lots of evening activity and its quickly established as my bar of choice

If you are looking for an authentic British pub look and feel this is the place for you. Excellent food, good drink a great place to hang out. I’ve had friends also go to concerts here and have said it was a great time!

Has serious potential as a Local Pub … shame about the sarcastic staff. Mostly filled with Fairfield University students when I was there(Friday night in the fall) = Loud. All bartenders & staff in a huge rush to get back to their pick-ups. Pro: Close to the train station

Atmosphere is spot on. Some Bartenders are ridiculously rude when the place gets busy. They treat it as if your joking, «like are you seriously asking me for a drink» attitude. Yes, you are the bartender. They generally try to avoid eye contact with you until you make it impossible and then they say some comment about the«# of people» as they are walking away. I’ll come here with friends but I’m not leaving a single tip if I’m treated like that.

Great place for a drink or some grub or to watch sports on the big screen — and I mean BIG! Two wall sized projectors so even us almost 50 year olds can see the puck without our glasses! Great Guinness, impressive wing options and other pub grub, including the English/Irish traditions. Also a great option for those looking to have an event in their back room complete with big screen and dedicated bar. Location is pretty convenient for commuters getting off the train as AL is in downtown Fairfield on the Post Road. Its cozy and on the second floor and offers a commanding view of of the street(and people) below. Employees are friendly, helpful without overdoing it. We will be back. again and again

We decided on AL for our son’s Christening celebration after the baptism. Super easy to work with. Chris(Chef) and Patrick(GM) really worked with us. Really anything we asked for, they said yes to without a problem. They were super easy going, which took that much stress off of us. There was no deposit needed, it was just agreed on. Prices were awesome compared to some of the other quotes we got, so it was really a no-brainer. The back room was standard, but we really had free reign to do what we wanted to decorate, and being creative and enjoying that aspect of it, we really loved that. Truly a blank slate, which is awesome if you like decorating and customizing things to your liking. We were able to purchase and make exactly what we wanted to truly customize the day, and never was there any hesitation from AL. Day of, we arrived a little early to set up. They worked with us on table arrangements and decorations, helping where they could. We had Sasha and Rachel staffing the event, and they were outstanding. They really did a great job. Food was great, and everyone was commenting on how good it was. Room was great. From the top down, everyone was awesome, and everyone who attended commented on how it was a great day, food was great, etc. Really happy with our choice to throw the party at AL. BTW, James(Bartender) is awesome. Always friendly and outgoing, and really makes you feel like this is your spot, whether you’re a regular, or its your first time. Love this place, and will keep coming back for the food, drinks, atmosphere, and just overall great times.

I love this place. It’s small so when it gets overcrowded it’s kind of annoying. But other than that it’s great. I love the food And the staff are super cool also. It’s also close to my job. So it’s a good happy hour spot

I grew up in Fairfield and the thinking was you had to go to Westport, or Stamford, for a good bar scene and feed. Returning here from Australia for a visit in the depth of winter I happened upon this cheery little upstairs pub. Craft beers on happy hour, friendly bartenders & owners, fun & interesting down-to-earth patrons, I thought«good start». I kept coming back, in a blizzard, and on New Year’s Eve. Very different crowds but still a fun night. Most surprising was how good, and how great a value, the food was on the quieter weeknights when we ate here. If I had to choose one bar in CT to go to alone or with a small group, it’d be this one.

Good beers on tap but of course I fell for the classic«legendary wings». If you’re gonna advertise something as legendary I expect that after eating it I would want to make a shrine of the wings and praise it as a god, maybe even start a cult following behind it. instead the wings were basic and the only thing legendary was the microscopic egg roles that you won’t remeber eating since they disintegrated upon impact with your tounge.

Went to Anna’s for the second time this month and like the first time had a total blast! Great vibe, good food and really nice barfolk. One bartender, his name is Josh, was particularly helpful. Quick to see if we needed anything and really knowledgeable about the different beers they had on tap. He definitely added to the enjoyment of our second trip there. As we were leaving he showed me and my friends the brunch menu and was raving about the Baileys Irish Cream pancakes… Guess where we’re going tomorrow?!?

Love this place, it’s my new go to spot. Food is good and service is great, I took my bartender Josh’s recommendation and was not disappointed and I even came back for the Sunday brunch he told me about and was thoroughly impressed by the Bloody Mary bar, Josh even came over to show me everything they had to spice up my drink, can’t wait for another free Sunday to enjoy brunch and bloody Mary’s again!

Love Anna Liffey’s! It’s one of the only bars left in Fairfield that has nightly entertainment. I tried their Tuesday night trivia for the first time last week with a bunch of friends, and we loved it. Drinks are mixed properly, unlike a lot of other bars that constantly water down their beverages. The bartenders are awesome, especially Josh. He makes sure your drink is perfect and constantly offers great advice on their food and other drink options. He busts his butt behind that bar, and I give him credit for his multitasking abilities! Can’t wait to try their brunch.

A group of friends and myself went here this night. Before I got in, one of my friends requested for a drink from the male bartender in the back near the dance floor at night — first thing he says is to swear at my friend saying that there’s a bunch of other people waiting then swears at him again when my friend responds back — real classy for a place I usually enjoy coming to for Sunday brunch and watching early EPL. After I walk in, I try to order drinks for my friends and I and he basically denied me because I had a temporary card due to bank issues then proceeded to ignore me after my friend gave me his card to pay for our drinks. I may have waited there for about 20 minutes before walking out. I could easily say that this was my worst bar experience. Others agree as they were getting the same vibes as I was. We all walked out, I don’t mind because they probably lost $ 200 – 300 this night because of him.

I was going to take a picture of my food to show you all, but I ate it before I managed to. This place has really good food. My husband had the bangers and mash, I had the Shepard pie. Both were very good! The atmosphere is very active, people chatting at the bar and watching sports on the TV’s and giant projector screen that literally takes up a whole wall it’s so huge. If I was a sports fan I’d be in heaven!

What a shit show on St. Patrick’s Day lunch. Barely a crowd and they could not get lunch to us for over 45 minutes. We walked out. No manager ever came over. So poor, the one day they should have their shit together.

We heard this had great for fish and chips. Stopped here on a Friday night around 6PM and the place was packed but not overcrowded. The happy hour was still in full force, half-price drinks till 7. It has a great lively atmosphere, the place is pretty loud, which I expected. Our server, Paul was courteous and very attending. One thing I noticed was that when we ordered drinks they literally came back in 3 min., but our food took almost 40 min., nonetheless the food was good and as described. There was a mixed crowd of college-age, commuters and even children. great place to meet friends and have a laugh or watch a game but don’t expect a quiet dinner here.

This is one of my new«go to» spots. I really enjoy the atmosphere, as it really goes for the Irish Pub look. The foods consistently good, and has a decent menu for a pub environment. Service is usually good, but I noticed they can be slow on a Sunday night.

If you’re looking to watch EPL games in Fairfield, this is the place. Decent size TVs along most of the walls and they have a large screen projector at one end. Plenty of seating and fun atmosphere. Bartenders and servers were all really nice! Came here to watch an Arsenal game on Sunday morning(game started at 11am). When we got there the place was empty but got pretty crowded within the next 10 minutes. They have a full bar and breakfast(we didn’t order anything but it smelled really good).
