I love everyone at Apex Eye! I have been working with Dr. Chaudhry for over three months. He is knowledgable, helpful, insightful and takes the time for your questions & concerns. The entire Apex Eye organization is Awesome! I go through my appointments & surgeries knowing I am in good hands. When you meet people who go to the same doctor as you, usually you get an «oh I go there too». Not with Dr C — EVERY person I have met who also sees him or has seen him starts the conversation with«Don’t you just Love him! He is the Best!» If you have eye issues, THIS is the place to go!

I never expected to lose my vision entirely while I was working one afternoon. All I could see out of my right eye was a big grayish/purple blob. It was terrifying and frustrating but so many people told me to brush it off as «floaters» I tried not to panic. By 4pm, my mother was picking me up to take me an eye dr. We went to Dr. Winterbottom at Wing Eye Care over in Hamilton. He discovered my detached retina. It was big, bad, and interesting enough that he called on Dr. Chaudhry to come check my eye out. An hour later, he was there. I was… well, TERRIFIED. All of the sudden I had two doctors telling me about the seriousness of the situation and the different types of surgery. Dr. Chaudhry was SO helpful. He explained everything, in details, and he answered all of my seemingly-dumb questions. When I couldn’t help myself, and started crying, he reassured me that things would be fine. I had surgery the next afternoon. I was a nervous wreck so they injected some meds for that before putting me under. I had a vitrectomy and a scleral buckle. A gas bubble was inserted into my eye and a buckle was sewn around my eyeball. I woke up in a major state of confusiong, asking for my husband, and feeling pain in my eye. I was bandaged up and couldn’t see anything. I followed up with Dr. C the next day. Bandages off, the pressure was good. Surgery went well. Since then, I have had a handful of visits with him. He has said that my pressure is perfect and that my eye could not look any better for this stage in the game. Definitely something good to hear — but I am still in a lot of pain and my vision is so much worse than it was before. Those things were to be expected. If you’re squeamish, do not google images for«scleral buckle». I can’t say enough good things about Dr. C and his staff. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. They answer all of my questions. I often call with questions and they answer those for me too — or they have the Dr. himself call me back to talk to me. It’s been a process but I don’t think I could have gone through with a surgery like this had it not been for Dr Chaudhry and Apex Eye.

I’ve never gotten eye care services here, but I did participate in an allergy study that paid $ 600 after the completion of 8 hour-long visits over 7 weeks. I figure if I have allergies(and in Cincy, who doesn’t?), then I might as well get paid for them. On the initial visit they do a skin test to make sure you’re allergic to any grass, ragweed, animals, etc in order to qualify for the study. The next several visits consist of reading a standard eye chart, getting eyedrops of different dosages of allergens, and eye doctors examining your eyes every few minutes to evaluate the degree of allergic reactions. Very simple, no daily diary or medicines to keep track of like in other research studies, easy money. The drawbacks are: having to drive out to Fairfield mostly on weekend days, having to wait until a couple weeks after the study ends to get paid, and the study staff isn’t very personable. For $ 600 though, it’s definitely worth it.
