Amazing soups– so homemade. I’m having the seafood gumbo which is seasoned perfectly and full of seafood. Thanks Chef.

Chef’s Table makes the best soups ever and they have a large variety to choose from. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable in downtown Fairfield.

The food is very good but the service is terrible… the last time there it took 15 minutes just to get a plain bagel with butter. There doesn’t seem to be any process from ordering to preparation to payment…

After being a long time customer, it disappoints me to have to write this. The food has fallen to be far from good. What was once a great place to get fresh wraps and soups has become a place that serves food that is almost uneadable. Now run by children and way overpriced it is a place that I will no longer recommend to anyone. While it still has great local entertainment, the horrible quality of the food out weighs it. I would be shocked to see them in business in the next year

Found this place thanks to Unilocal!Stopped by, as it seemed to be the only place open early for breakfast on a Saturday and couldn’t have been more pleased! It’s an order first and take away type of set up. But the place is funky and eclectic with great coffee! I returned a few hours later for lunch and I have no complaints. Great variety of options for the picky eater. I love the salad bar.

Got lured here by a Facebook ad and I put it on my list of places to visit. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with soup, and upon seeing their many options, I had to go. I tried two different kinds of soup, a beer and cheddar, of which I couldn’t have more than two spoonfuls. The taste was off, can’t put my finger on it. The next soup was a creamy chicken orzo, which also was barely touched. There are tons of pre-made wraps to select from and the buffalo chicken one was pretty good. I wish it was freshly made rather than pre-made, but it was good just the same. I found the set up to be a bit odd and overall I found the food to be a little expensive. What really turned me off was the«forced tipping». I got my total and the next screen had options for 15, 20, etc. percent. I was a turned off by this especially since I was in the business and I always tip, even on take out. I just didn’t find it necessary to present tipping in this way.

I have to say over all I really enjoy the food and I love the atmosphere inside. This is over all one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat in Fairfield. The flank steak burrito never disappoints and the fresh salad and burrito bars are amazing as well as the juice bar. The only reason for the lack of a fifth star is I have been going to this place for over 8 years and the prices have gone up and the portion size is smaller I have no issue with a higher price and understand paying for quality but charge more and leave the portion alone.

This is a fun little restaurant with healthy, creative salads and sandwiches, at reasonable prices. The old school rock and roll posters, lava laps and live music make for a quirky causal environment. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wish this place was closer.

Packed on memorial day morning during the parade but quick service! Can’t beat 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on bagels, a latte, and a large coffee(all delicious) for under $ 10!

Just had lunch here and it was great! Live music upfront and cool, relaxed, rock and roll atmosphere with nice people working behind the counter. Good place to go with little kids too. Set up cafeteria style so you place your order, wait a few minutes, then pay and sit down at booths.

I loved that they offer paleo options! I had paleo lasagna and it was wonderful. I also tried the salad bar with Brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and an awesome kale salad. The owner was very friendly and excited to show us around.

Great spot for lunch. An easy, no frills, over-the-counter dining experience, with plenty of open booth seating. They have a diverse soup selection, with all of the ingredients written on the stations, a full salad bar, and a deli case full of items like sandwiches, burritos, potstickers, chicken tenders. You can also get salads made-to-order. New station is a taco bar full of yummy pulled proteins. Cool perk about this place is that they have some Paleo-friendly items, like the Crossfit Omelette, Paleo Breakfast Bites and Paleo Pork Lasagna(this is super rich and tasty). I recommend this place for anyone trying to grab a quick and light, or occasionally not-so-light, lunch!

This place is a great, reliable spot for lunch, coffee or a snack. Serve yourself from the DIY tacos, soup stand or salad, or grab a sandwich. It ain’t cheap cheap, but it delivers pretty good, reliable food. Plenty of seating, and they won’t kick you out if you choose to sit with your laptop or listen to the love music. They also serve beer and wine, and have free wifi. Service is always great, friendly and they have cookies for .80! Can’t go wrong.

I love coming to Fairfield and even though I’m not super familiar with what’s worth going to in the area, it seems like the majority of great restaurants are conveniently located on Post Road. It was around lunch time and since my friend and I slept late, we were looking for a place to grab brunch and then be on our way. She recommended Chef’s Table. You’ll have to find parking on the side of the road or in a lot somewhere close since Chef’s Table has no private parking. From the outside, it looks incredibly tiny and cramped, but as you walk in you’ll see that it makes up in seating and food. It’s a lot larger than you’d expect and severely decorated with old pictures of classic rock bands, primarily Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, etc. They also had a performer on guitar playing live music for the brunch crowd which I thought was pretty appealing, it had a nice vibe to the time of day. You walk to the back where the food is located and you have your pick at tons, and I mean TONS of café-esque food. There’s a soup bar on your left as you make your way back, a salad bar more towards the back on your left, a deli counter that has a plethora of wraps, sandwiches, burritos, etc., in the case that you can order either cold or toasted, and a taco/burrito bar on the right(I believe) where you can customize your own taco/burrito. On top of that, they also serve a handful of breakfast items including sandwiches and omelettes. There’s truly a massive amount of options. They also have organic coffee that my friend recommended, but I didn’t get a chance to try it. I ended up with a chicken Caesar wrap that was on a spinach wrap(my favorite) and an Orangina to wash it down. My friend got a buffalo chicken wrap and a small amount of salad. Overall, the time it took to order our food and actually pay/receive it was fairly quick, especially with how busy they were starting to get. My wrap was great, and even though I’m not a fan of a chicken Caesar wrap with a generous amount of dressing on it, it still could have used just a bit more. Otherwise, it was exactly what I wanted that morning. I didn’t get to try my friend’s buffalo chicken wrap, but it must have been good because she demolished it in no time flat. This place is great and I hope I’ll be back here again to venture into the other types of food and coffee they have to offer. If you’re looking for a great brunch spot on Post Road, look no further.

Nice, chill place to grab an up-scale wrap or salad. Great salad selections, lots of variety. Very NY-esque atmosphere: brick walls, rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, nice background music. Good for an intimate date and the food is very good.

Chef’s Table is the first restaurant my family went to when we bought our house in Fairfield. Don’t let the hip(pie) interior fool you, this place serves the best quality food you will have in a relaxed atmosphere. Think college town grill with excellent salad and soup bar. Oh, and by the way I’ve become a connoisseur of breakfast egg sandwiches in the area… Chef’s Table wins hands down. It is as delicious as it is substantial, I promise you lunchtime will roll around and you will not be even slightly hungry!

My all time favorite place to grab lunch in Fairfield. Being from New Jersey I never thought I’d find an equally as amazing breakfast sandwich as I have in my home state, but this place can do it!!! There seaweed salad is so yum, as most already know, and their soups are so organic tasting and fresh! They also serve beer which is cool, and have a good selection of old school sodas(natural sugar). They often tweet about free hot chocolate on snowy days — which is so fun & yum. Their Tuscan wrap is also one of my favorites. And their salad bar is a really great deal! Service is good! They could probably use a bigger place, since there is sometimes congestion by the register and salad bar/sandwich station. But that obviously doesn’t take away from how mind blowing their food is! Love! Enjoy!
