Funny how reviews disappear… Copy and paste: We purchased our countertop and floor tile from this place back in Nov/Dec 2014. I was going to give this place a good review(because at the time we felt we were being treated well, and were pleased with the back and forth communication) until we realized that the countertop we ended up buying was EXACTLYWHATWEDIDN’T WANT. Let me explain… we walked into Ideal Tile in Fairfield and talked to Vincent about what we were looking for. we loved the Carrara marble look, but didn’t want to deal with all the maintenance. So we started looking at Quartz stones(engineered stone)… like Ceasarstone, Silestone, etc. after weeks of calls, emails, quotes, trips to different places, etc. we realized we didn’t love the look of engineered stone because it didn’t have that natural look that we loved of Carrara marble… so we started looking at Quartzite. Everest to be exact. We loved the natural look, and since we were told that this was stronger than granite and required zero maintenance, we’re like, wow, this is it!!! so we went ahead and got it. not cheap. As it got delivered we found out(from the delivery people themselves!!!) that this stone flakes and chips very easily and is also porous. Why wouldn’t the owner at IT tell us? I’m not sure if it was his lack of interest or lack of knowledge that led us here, but 5 months after our kitchen renovation is done we are dealing with a very annoying countertop that we constantly have to wipe down(even for water because it leaves spots everywhere), and has flakes/holes everywhere. He tried to do the right thing and sent a guy over to fill the holes with an epoxy, but the glue just came off and we are back to square one. We didn’t have any problems with the floor tile… except for having to ask multiple times to please have the grout cleaner available… but I’m beyond upset about the countertop. How many times do you get to remodel your kitchen? How long does it take you to save the money to afford a new kitchen? How knowledgeable are you when it comes to every single product you are buying? Don’t you also rely on experts to steer you in the right direction? Had we known what that this stone was like this we would have purchased the quartz/engineered stone.
