James D. Julia consistently offers some of the finest antique and modern firearms available anywhere in America, Europe, and beyond. They make a strenuous effort to describe items with accuracy. No «expert» or auction house is infallible and if one is going to spend five or six figures on a given lot it is always best to have a second opinion but Jim Julia hires genuine authorities when his in house experts are in doubt. Julia catalogs are superbly illustrated and well produced. If you are seeking high-​end guns Julia is one of a very few that offers them on a bi-​annual basis.

I highly recommend this auction company. They are very professional and honest. I sold my dad’s former antique weapons collection through them back in 2012. They even found sadly, some fakes in the collection which we kept. They are really good on making sure the provenance is used and have experts that review each item for validity before they take it to sell.

While their gun auctions are magnificent, be VERY careful with the paintings. Bought two fakes there myself and they did not take them back, even with a famous appraiser’s analysis.
