I bought a groupon for my boyfriend and I. We try to do monthly date nights and I wanted to do something different. We walked in and everyone was extremely friendly. They were so knowledgeable and we learned such interesting information. They gave us three different runs to test. The stories from the owner Brent were great and funny. It was awesome to hear how he got into the business as well. I love how they do volunteer nights to fill the bottles and treat everyone like family. It’s also awesome to see all the magi art the owner put together himself and how much of his business he is keeping in NJ. Such a great time!!!

Spent a few Saturdays there. They always have good food paired with some really great rums. The Morena coffee rum is spectacular.

We went for the tour with a groupon. By far the best rum I’ve ever tasted. Their new coffee rum is very tasty. The people are fantastic and they make a great product. Great tour and great samples. You cannot leave without trying the hard ice!

Just spent 3 hours at NJ Artisan Distillery and our group left with smiles on our faces, new acquaintances and a spicy taste in our mouths thanks to a special batch of liquor naturally named Hot Chocolate Sex(thanks uncle Jim!). The night started with a tasting of their super clean and smooth white rum followed by a smokey, more full bodied dark rum. Next we had a choice of a couple different liquors where I went with a «Suisse le bleu» absinthe drink. Made half and half with seltzer and a dab of ice, the liquor miraculously turned light blue. Strong smell of licorice off the top but the taste was surprisingly light and subtle for being 140 proof(less after being mixed obviously). The ladies had a coffee liquor which was the white rum mixed with soaked in Brazilian coffee beans. The entire time conversations were flowing between Brant(master distiller), Jim(NJ homebrew club advisor and drink architect), Doug(NJ homebrew flu. President and Brant’s right hand man) and our group. Next we went on the distillery tour where Brant gave us his background and a bit of history. You can tell right off the bat that his passion comes from the heart and everything done at the distillery was carefully thought out from start to finish. After the tour, we were treated to more drinks and even a rum strawberry Gelato dessert… «hard ice». All I can say is wow! So tasty and just the right amount of kick. They need to put stuff on shelves in supermarkets! Also had one of their mojitos… Very yummy. The crew then started talking about the different stuff they have distilled or architectured, which included peepski(melted peep for sugar base) and hot chocolate sex(rum, frap, Bosco, mead and hot peppers). Jim was nice enough to bring out his personal bottle of the hot chocolate sex which we got to try… Definitely interesting! They also brought out some local nj hot sauce to try with the chips. All in all a fantastic night!

My boyfriend and I purchased a Groupon for a tour and tasting and were pleasantly surprised. The owner gave us the tour and was not only knowledgeable, but very funny. The busted barrel dark rum was fantastic and we ended up purchasing two to bring home. There is a bar area where you can purchase cocktails and the bartender is very nice as well. I will definitely be going back there.

I tried the Busted Barrel Rum. I normally do not like rum, like Bacardi, straight. This rum, however, I had straight and I wanted more of it. It was smooth and delightful.

Jersey Artisan Distilling will join Cricket Hill(brewery) and Here at A Little Taste of Purple(wine making) in Fairfield, NJ as another hand crafter of liquor. I have had the pleasure of sampling Brant Braue’s rum and is quite stellar! Definitely my choice for a rum to drink straight up w/o mixing. The bottles come with a cork which is reminiscent of quality such as Greygoose is to vodka. Looking forward to them opening up at the close of summer!
