I would give him zero stars but you have to give him one. He is only looking for the money from the system… he says one thing then changes his mind to prolong the treatment. Out of 4 appointments he only examined one time! I would not go there if at all possible. BTW you can hear the conversation taking place in the examination rooms in the waiting room! What about doctor– patient confidentiality? Can you say review board? Please do yourself a favor and look for another option… he will just waist your time and money. Shame on him!

I was intentionally waiting to review this orthopedist. Of course I had my opinion from day one, but I wanted to see how things played out throughout the course that I saw him. I was referred to this orthopedist by my primary care doctor since my insurance only covers doctor’s within a 30 mile radius for«non-emergent» situation. I was honestly reluctant to see a new orthopedist since I was already following up with one in Sacramento for my ankle(I nearly destroyed the thing), but with how my insurance was set up I had to. The first impression I got from his staff, especially the receptionist, was that they were all rude and unprofessional. They would loudly talk crap about patients that they dealt with over the phone or in person. After they called me in to go to the examining room, they continued to talk crap about a patient and another doctor while I was in the room with them. The doctor even participated in the crap talking activities. At another appointment I had, they were talking crap about my Dad because he corrected the receptionist for not calling me by my correct first name. She was constantly calling me by my incorrect name after I took the time, several times, to explain to her what my correct first name, but clearly she didn’t care. As for the doctor, Dr. Burton is unfortunately one of those stereotypical impersonal doctors who rush through the examination process. On my very first appointment with him, he instantly wanted to go the surgical route even before doing any diagnostic testing. He didn’t go over any non-invasive options with me at all. Since I already had to take 2.5 months of medical leave from my job to have hardware removal surgery on my ankle, I knew that having another surgery in the same year wasn’t an option, plus I wanted to get a second opinion before having someone cut into another major joint of mine. I told him and his staff that I did not want to have the surgery at this time, especially since I couldn’t take off from work again, but he continually had his staff members call me asking me to schedule the surgery. They repeatedly called me and left messages on my phone, until I got upset with the receptionist and told her how it is, but of course the incompetent staff members called me one more time telling me that I had to schedule my surgery. Yeah the hell right! Since I deferred getting the surgical procedure done, I asked Dr. Burton repeatedly what I can do or take to help minimize the pain until I absolutely need the surgery. Of course the receptionist was rude when I asked her to relay the message to the doctor, but when she called me back with the tips from Dr. Burton to minimize the pain, she was actually fairly nice about it. In short, if you are in need of an orthopedist, I would HIGHLY recommend going to another orthopedist with a more professional staff. If you are unfortunate enough to be referred to him, I would definitely get a second opinion prior to having ANY procedure done by Dr. Burton. He likes to rush into treating everything with surgery, so I would definitely be weary.
