After ironing out a few wrinkles in their first few weeks, Kinfast has really improved, and deserves another try by those that may have had a frustrating time with service in the past. They have streamlined the process in their line and expanded the options; You can get what you want. They offer different plate sizes to fit your budget and you appetite. Some of the servers they had before that were less than accommodating are no longer there. They offer cafeteria style as well as dishes made fresh to order. You just have to ask, and they will prepare anything on the menu fresh for you. You can also call ahead and order take-​away. The food is always tasty and full of flavor, made with fresh veggies and high quality meats. The only bad experience I had with the food was on one occasion where the Miso soup was way too salty. I have recently received very good service there, especially at dinner time when they are not very busy. The woman there is very kind and always gives my child special treats. They will carry the food to your table for you, and on more than one occasion they have brought us out soup and other extras on the house. The ambiance is very nice, and clean. The patio seating is very comfortable and inviting. If you are looking for Asian food in SE Iowa, I recommend Kinfast.

Run. Save yourself. The worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. Barely warm. Odd tasting. They did not want to give me appetizer nor soup… I had to ask for it. They give you just a few pieces of the main course. 24 hours later diarrhea started.

Soooo fresh I think the other Unilocalers are friends of the other Chinese restaurant in town bc this place is great everybody in the restaurant is from China nobody speaks English except for the owner kin this place is as good as Chicago Chinatown restaurants

Where do I begin? The food was greasy, lukewarm and the bill for two people came to $ 19.00. It should have been $ 16.21. They added the bill two more times and still came up with $ 19.00. A younger, local person then re-​added the items and came up with $ 16.21. Granted they apologized but it took a while.
Also, the chairs scrape quite loudly on the floor. The next time you are there, listen for it. When we was there, a party of eight put three tables together and dragged the tables and chairs along the floor. It was like someone raking their nails against an old blackboard. My wife and I ate ½ of the food we ordered and threw the rest out. I need a week at The Raj after their abysmal attempt at culinary art. Disappointing, to say the least.

The food tasted like a really, really, really bad frozen dinner. It also gave both me and my friend a horrible stomach ache for the rest of the day.

I have eaten twice at Kinfast since they opened, once for lunch and once for dinner. First, the food is served and sold cafeteria style. Most options are Chinese although a few are Thai. There is a good variety of food to select from. The food is decent but not great. The spring rolls were obviously frozen and not hand made. Not very good. The same can be said for the crab ragoons. Stir fried eggplant in garlic sauce was pretty good. The tofu and stir fried chicken was ok as well. It is a little confusing regarding what you get with the different options (small plate, medium plate, large plate). Prices are good… you can get a medium plate with fountain drink for under $ 10.

Let me start by saying that the food is decent, albeit during my visit, lukewarm. Ordering can be complicated if you do not understand the buffet rules and plate size options ahead of time. Since this is a new establishment and my first visit, I am giving them three stars and hoping that the kinks will get smoothed and I find the impetus to return. What turned me off was that I was told a few «no’s» as I perused the buffet and tried to choose what I wanted. Like many other people in this area, I was focused on the available vegetarian options. Had the server been cooperative, my order would have saved them money. In the end I did not get exactly what I wanted and what I did get was room temperature. If not for the outdoor seating, I probably would not return. I hope things turn out better for you.
