I’ve been coming to this park for years. First, as a kid myself and now as a parent. This park is great because it has so much room to roam around. Large grass areas divided by pathways make it easy for different groups to do different things. Lots of shaded areas makes this a great park for picnics, or just hanging out too. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains here, but in a pinch you can use KI Jones’ fountains when school is out and the gates are open. Otherwise, bring that H2O goodness from home. What really sets this place apart from your average park(and thus earns it a 4-star rating from yours truly) is the water cannons! How awesome is that? I’m just jealous they weren’t around when I was a kid! The area surrounding the water cannons is covered with a spongy material that provides better traction and padding when wet than cement. To conserve water though, the cannons are only on from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend; so check your calender if you’ve got kids in swimsuits who wanna splash. My daughter loves this park and it gets PACKED after KI Jones gets out during the week. Lots and lots of kids for a good hour or two at least, my daughter loves it! If you bring your kids here they’ll love it too. Don’t forget to check out the creek before you leave too, if you look in the right spots you’ll find craw-dads and little fishes. If you’re fast enough you can even catch one of the craw-dads to have a closer look, just don’t get pinched!
