I love their steak hoagies. I also love their pizza — some of the pizza reviews are negative — but I love it. Huge pizzas with plenty of toppings — great crust. I am not crazy about their spaghetti — small portion for the price you pay and it isn’t that good. You should definitely try their steak hoagies — they are famous!

Very clean facility. Warm and welcoming staff. They were patient with me being it was my first time in the restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the selection if toppings and combinations that they have. Perfect for family meals or date night.

The place is called Richard’s Pizza, but trust me, skip the pizza — the thing to get here is the Famous Steak Sandwich, which is so beloved that they ship this sandwich all over the country to former Hamiton/Fairfield residents who dearly miss this taste of home. This sandwich is actually a steak hoagie, although the default configuration(unlike most in the area) does not include cheese, which is available at a small additional cost. The roll, the patty, the ultra-thin sliced onions, and the sauce are all a notch or two above what you get on a typical steak hoagie, and the whole thing comes together as one of the best in the area The current location is about a mile south of the original location, and this new location has a lot more dining space, plenty of parking, and a drivethru window Recommended

Menu price for Small Greek Salad was posted wrong on Menu board. Says 3.99 in fact it’s 5.25. So watch what you pay. Worker said they updated Menu Board 3 weeks ago. Never asked for difference back, but no matter won’t be back.

Pizza was so bland. Bland people will only like it. I would never go back. The pizza is so bland it tastes like I was eating hot plastic. One star is really too much.

Super friendly and fast staff. The pizza is pretty unexceptional, although they do have interesting toppings.

Tried it again, this time dine in with my better half who requested it as she never had it before. Service was very friendly! We ordered a 3 topping pizza and steak sandwich– with LIGHT onion and pizza sauce. A marked improvement! I still think it is more local hype, but a fair value and all the employees were smiling and helpful. Support local businesses!

I’ve never had anything other than their pizza and fudge. It’s not the best pizza ever, but it’s really good I prefer it over LaRosas and they are a big step up from the usual pizza chains. Their not stingy with the ingredients either, you get a bit of everything in every bite. Their fudge is good too, they have different varieties and you get a nice size piece.

I will first start this review by saying, some of my love for this place may be due to the nostalgia factor. I remember many weekends eating Richard’s with my dad when he would come to town to visit, and perhaps that is why I think so highly of it. No, it’s not the best thing I’ve ever eaten, and it’s not the first place I’d choose for dinner, even though I’m 2 minutes away from the place, but there is just something about a Richard’s steak hoagie that warms my heart. I have loved watching it grow from a few small little places into a few larger sit down locations today. The smell is a familiar one, and there are some tips I would offer to a newbie. I honestly can’t tell you what the regular hoagie sauce tastes like… I always order the pizza sauce and add cheese. YUM. If you like onions, then awesome, get it with onions. If you only like onions a little bit, tell them to be light with the onions or you’ll end up with the equivalent of a whole onion scattered on your hoagie. They are heavy on the pickles too. Their pizza is pretty tasty, but typically everyone I talk to goes there for the hoagies so I can’t really give you a serious pizza review. Now, this is sort of randomness, but holy crap, do they have something else that’s amazing… FUDGE!!! They make several different flavors of fudge and they are soooooo delicious. Perfect dessert after cramming a hoagie in your face hole. NOM. When you order from Richards, keep in mind they are cooking it to order, so it’s not going to be the same as going through a fast food line somewhere nearby. Oh, and the last tip, when you order a large drink. it’s a LARGE drink. I call it the bucket size. I’ll always be a loyal hoagie lover at Richard’s, and I’ve read a few times that maybe it’s a local thing. I can’t argue that fact, but if you’re new in town, I’d still give it a try. You may be a fan as well.

Steak sandwich was as awesome as ever but turn the heat on. We couldn’t enjoy our meal because we were freezing. Staff friendly and helpful.

I have eaten here as take out many many times. The pizzas are very good, the cheese is a high-quality and the sandwiches also are very good. They never have coupons so it ends up being relatively expensive pizza compared to the competition. But for the quality I suppose it is worth it. Upon entering the place it does not seem that it is really clean. The place just has an old and dated feel to it, that is why we always get takeout. It is a depressing place to eat in.

Blahh. This place is just okay. Yes, I know it’s called Richard’s PIZZA– but I got the spaghetti with meat sauce. It was bland and weirdly textured for meat sauce. The pasta was a bit soggy, and overall just unimpressive. But then I took a bite of the magical bread. It was like the heavens parted and left my hopes and dreams in a tasty package of garlic bread. Okay, yes, that’s a little dramatic, but seriously THISBREADISAMAZING. Now, here’s the real deal. I went for my cousin’s husband’s birthday party. I never felt like I had any reason to go there when I actually lived in Fairfield… because there was Cassano’s. So if you’re trying to get a good pizza at a local joint that is not LaRosa’s, and you happen to be in Fairfield, think twice before choosing Richard’s. However, if you end up here, be sure not to get the spaghetti! ;)

A group I meet with got together at Richard’s tonight for a club meeting, and we had a great time. As always, Richard’s pizza had outstanding flavor. I’m learning, though, that in its richness, it’s very high in cholesterol. That said, the white pizza is insanely good. As compared with the Richard’s on Main St. in Hamilton, this one has a nice meeting room setup that isn’t present in other stores. This Richard’s is in the building that used to house Pusch’s restaurant once upon a time, which gives them a good bit of space to work with. They have an open room area in the back that can be divided up into two meeting rooms, each with a 42″ or larger TV mounted that can apparently be used either as a TV, or for displaying a presentation, since it has HDMI inputs. Being Monday night, they weren’t super-busy, but we had speedy service. With 21 people in the group, they did a good job of keeping our orders straight, getting them out fast, and hot. Definitely a great place to get together if you’re into some good za. Something I hadn’t noticed before at Richard’s is their fudge. They had their fudge on display, and they had some interesting flavors. I didn’t get a chance to try them, but I definitely will on a future visit.

Richard’s is best known for their steak hoagies. I’ve never had anything else there. Be sure to order it with pizza sauce. And there’s no need to ask for extra onions.
