Super 8 Fairfield

I wish I could give it 0 stars! Worse place ever to stay at. The night we stayed the hotel was full of construction workers. There were trash bags of garbage that lined the halls. They never picked them up. The carpet in the hallway was like a gravel road. They didn’t clean it either. The pool area was disgusting! The construction workers were so loud all night that we didn’t get any sleep. We ended up leaving and going to the hotel by the hospital, America Inn. Much much better there. Will never go back to super 8!

I didn’t have high expectations to begin with, considering I stayed at a Super 8 the weekend of a local motorcycle rally, but my husband and I didn’t want to camp out in the cold and also didn’t want to overspend when we only needed the room to sleep in over the weekend. I could tell the hotel was recently renovated with the fresh paint and contemporary art hanging above the bed. So at first glance it looked nice. The bathtub was clogged and after calling it in two nights in a row, no one ever came to snake the drain or at least humor me and pour some Drano into it by the time I checked out. After being out of the room all day I returned to an unmade bed, yesterday’s trash and a photocopy of a handwritten note that read,“We are understaffed at the moment. If you need anything, call the front desk.” I hung our used towels with the intent of reusing them two days in a row but our housekeeper decided to take the hung, used towels and replace them with single bath towel for two people. I suppose two adults sharing one towel will also help conserve water too. For the sake of ending on a positive note, the bed and the pillows are soft so I did sleep well there. Recommend you stay at AmericInn or Best Western if you find yourself looking for a hotel room in Fairfield, Iowa.

My husband and I have stayed her several times as we have family in the area. The first few times I assumed we just had bad luck when it came to getting assigned rooms with bad mattresses. Apparently the whole hotel is like that. Sure, if you complain they will give you a different room but the mattress is awful there too. Continental breakfast is … ok. Not much more than coffee, bagels and boxed cereal.

Super 8 has super slow internet.
