Beautiful studio for a fabulous workout. I have been attending classes since the studio opened and the workout has just gotten better and better. The focus of instruction is on correct form to avoid injury. Correct form also leads to a more challenging workout. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff happily answers questions and explains policies. Each teacher has her own style which brings variety to the studio too. Megan C., one of the instructors, started teaching Bar Method in NJ and knew she had to find a studio when she moved to CT so she could keep teaching. So glad she did. Megan gives precise cueing during instruction. She finds the perfect balance in her coaching– motivates you to push your limits while complimenting your hard work. The sense of community that the owners have created at Bar Method Fairfield is truly something special. This is the FIRST form of exercise that I look forward to each time I go to class. The workout, the facility, the teachers and the clients are top notch. If you are thinking about taking a class, go for it. You won’t regret it.

I LOVE this studio. Every single instructor is absolutely fantastic– not only are they upbeat and motivational, but they take the time to learn your name,(mine is definitely a tough one) and use it throughout the class to correct your form and encourage you during the workout. I have never been a regular workout person, but this is one form of exercise I look forward to, and push myself to to work harder at. If you’re looking for an alternative to the gym and treadmill I would definitely give Bar Method a try. Before Bar Method I went to another barre studio in Fairfield, but the atmosphere over here is much more welcoming and just plain nicer. Bridget and Caitlin are fantastic, and even in full classes of 30 women you get the individualized attention you need from the instructors to make it feel like a personalized workout. It’s worth the money and the committment!

Every teacher I have had has been really awesome, helpful and comes in with a positive attitude. Especially Caitlin G. the owner she is super motivational and works you extra hard that you are shaking as much as if you were having a seizure.

This studio is very different from all the other ones i’ve been to a bunch of others but this one is much more personal and everyone that works there are very friendly. The studio is clean and spacious itself located in s sports complex. I like the idea that even tho the class is pretty big(around 15 – 20 people) i’d say but you still feel very personal and taken care of throughout the class. I was a new student and my instructor and one of the owners of the studio made sure that I had a good experience by checking on me and helping me out with poses and moves. she remembers our names too! which I think is very nice about them! I really like everything about here! I am definitely coming back. What more to say you get a good ‘ouch’ soreness’ the day after!!! great workout!

First, the disclaimer. This is not a review of the studio as it is not open yet. However, Bar Method Fairfield offered preview/community classes this summer and I took about 8 of them. I’ve been active my whole life, although less so for the last 4 years. Bar Method is an entirely different approach to exercise than anything I’ve done before. The focus on Bar Method is on small(tiny, even) isometric movements. By the way, «isometric» means«same length» and an isometric movement is one that engages your muscle without contracting it. For more information, the Bar Method founders blog is a great source: . It was developed by a dancer and with the help of a physical therapist. I actually recognize a lot of the movements from when I did physical therapy for my back almost 15 years ago. Bar Method is completely different than any other workout I have ever done. It took me about 3 classes to adjust to the new positions and the flow of class, and for the first two classes I questioned whether I was getting a good workout. However, the day after class as soon as I got out of bed I could very clearly tell that I had. I wasn’t really sore the way I am after lifting weights or running or anything else. Instead, I was a little bit achey everywhere we had worked. I could FEEL that my muscles had been worked. Over the last 5 weeks, I’ve noticed some changes that I really attribute to Bar Method. My arms are more defined, the shape of my legs is changing. I’m also sleeping better than I have in a long time. If you, like me, walk out of your first and second classes thinking«Eh, I’m not sure» I’d really encourage you to go back a few more times just to make sure you’re not missing out on something that you really will click with if you give it more time. Through classes this summer, I had the chance to meet some of the Bar Method teachers. Bridget is the owner and has been teaching for a while. She clearly knows what she’s doing in class, and has authority in her voice that makes you not want to quit even when whatever she has you doing is really tough. Stephanie is one of the other teachers and she is very encouraging. There’s at least one more teacher who is still in training
