So I show up here with an 18K white gold diamond wedding band, and a 14K white gold diamond solitaire engagement ring. The lady behind the counter takes my rings, puts a magnet to them and sees THEY DONT STICK TO THE MAGNET, and then says to me «YOUR RING IS FAKE. ITS NOT REAL GOLD HONEY. SORRY». I remember from basic chemistry and physics that real gold DOES NOT STICK. So, after I correct her on the fact that real gold does not stick to a magnet, she says to me, in poor English, «the police told us about fake gold. The police!» Ok lady. Whatever.
I’ve had my rings appraised at 3 big chain jewelers. They’re real, and when purchased new were over $ 7000.
they don’t know what they’re doing here. Wow. What an awful experience!
