I have been here a few times and the atmosphere is really nice. Most of the waitstaff makes you feel welcomed except for one who looked like she hates her job. The stuffed haddock is delicious. It comes in a shell which is a really nice touch. The tiramisu is to die for. Overall, great place to eat, but it is a little pricy.

We just returned from our first visit to Elisabeth’s and we were impressed. We met friends for a spur-of-the-moment lunch, and they suggested we try Elisabeth’s. It was a great suggestion. We were promptly seated by a hostess at a 4-seat high-top near the bar. Our server was perky, knowledgeable, and helpful. We ordered a linguica and goat cheese pizza as an appetizer, and it was very good. The linguica was ground up and spread over the pizza so that each bite gave up a taste of the sausage. I liked the subtle taste of the linguica; it didn’t overpower the pizza. The sauce was fresh and tasty, as was the crust. We were off to a good start. For my main course, I ordered the Fish and Chips. There was a generous piece of fried fish over a bunch of perfectly-cooked fries. The dish was served with the traditional cole slaw and tartar sauce. Another in our party ordered the Little Necks with Linquica. He reported that the dish was a bit bland, but I noticed he ate the whole thing. To finish, we ordered a Boston Cream Pie to share. It was huge, delicious, and plenty for the four of us. All in all, the prices at lunch were very reasonable, given the quantity and quality of the food. We will be back.

This is such a great find in a little old town. Newly updated look makes it feel very modern, their dishes are gourmet and served with care of presentation. We always sit at the bar and get very good service. They have a great selection of alcohol and a creative drink menu.

Fresh fish from local fishers. The food is well presented and really tasty. I had a suffers haddock with scallops and the sauce and the stuffing was amazing. I was impressed of how gourmet the food was, considering how inexpensive they are. Full bar an friendly staff.

I’ve had amazing meals here — top faves would be Pesto Crusted Haddock and their seasonal Pumpkin Pasta dish. At the same time, I’ve had meals that are just okay. Since we’ve been dining at this spot for years, I assume that’s the way it goes. It’s wonderful during the warmer months since they offer fresh seafood and all the details are quintessential New England. Staff is always exceptional, bread plentiful and drink menu is top notch!

I’ve been wanting to try Margarets restaurant two doors over for a while now — but of course they were closed again for some ungodly reason so my mom & I chose this place. It was around lunchtime and there was a 5 minute wait. The place is really small inside so that explains why there was wait. They serve you bread and oil/cheese/red pepper dipping sauce when you first sit down. I’ve had better at NYAJ. We got the infamous scallop nachos for an appetizer(based on the rave reviews) and they were quite a disappointment. They were very simple and overpriced. For my entrée I chose the fish + chips and they were great! Crispy batter, fresh fish/coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce. I loved everything about it. My mom got the basil walnut crusted haddock topped with lemon aioli and she also loved it. This place has amazingly fresh seafood and the lunch prices are unbeatable. I would definitely come back.

We were in Fairhaven for work and asked a coworker from New Bedford a good place in the area, he said to go here. It’s just a little building with a sign out front, I never would have thought of going here. When you go inside there are little fish decorations around and you’re like«yeah, whatever, another one of the hundreds of seafood restaurants». They gave us the menus and I was kinda confused. They all look like fancy dishes, but they don’t cost much. I picked the haddock with ratatouille

I went to Elisabeth’s on a Friday night with a group of four, and I was nervous going in because they wouldn’t take reservations for a group of less than 5. The set up on the building makes it kind of awkward to stand around and wait, also. Luckily, our wait was only about 15 minutes. This restaurant came pretty highly recommended from a couple of people when I said I wanted a place with a good drink menu, and it did not disappoint. And I don’t mean just the drinks were good, although they were. I tried the Fizzy Lizzy and Bahama Baby, and had a Tiramisu martini for dessert. The drinks weren’t cheap, but they were strong, and very good. I’d really recommend their dessert martinis. Consensus was that their salted pretzel martini was the best of all the ones we tried. For dinner I had a special: seared shrimp with penne and a lemon basil white wine sauce. It was delicious… There was nothing left on my plate after except shrimp tails. My fiancé had a crispy haddock special and loved it. The couple we were with also tried the haddock special, and the steak tips. All the food got rave reviews. My fiancé tried the actual tiramisu for dessert and said its probably the best he’s ever had. Our waitress(Theresa, I believe) was awesome. We never had empty drinks, and she was always joking around with us. We closed the place out and were there last customers to leave around 10pm. This is definitely a place I will go again(soon, I hope!) and will highly recommend to anyone looking for good food and good drinks at decent prices. I can’t say one negative thing about my experience minus the brief wait.

Delicious little spot with some unique items on the menu. Try the scallop nachos for an excellent and one of a kind take on an old favorite, made with local scallops!

First things first, this ISNOT byob like Margaret’s just a quick heads up. These is a full bar that is quite good and an extensive drink menu. Now for the dinner, to start off my SO and I walked in and were told by the bartender to sit wherever we liked(a little odd given it was not exactly slow) but we quickly picked a table and were brought bread and water promptly. We ordered drinks and put in an order for the scallop nachos(which were amazing), but then came the one problem, our server began to spend her time elsewhere, mostly one table where sure seemed to know the diners. Not the end of the world, but we were ready to place our orders for about ten to fifteen minutes before I was able to flag her down. As for the food it was great, I had cassoulet which was very good with large scallops and chunks of lobster. The asparagus was not very good, but the side of mashed potatoes made up for the sub par asparagus. My SO had the scallops with penne which are enjoyed, the entire dish was very fresh and delicious and highly recommends the dish. Overall a very good meal with somewhat lacking service, but not nearly enough to warrant a poor rating. Also a quick sidenote, the dinner menu is a bit higher priced than the lunch items, more like $$$ instead of $$.

This is one of the easiest five-star reviews I’ve ever given. Perfect dinner experiences are hard to come by, this was one of them. Atmosphere is laid back, completely unpretentious, and casual. My server was awesome: a little sassy, relaxed, and knew how to sell. She brought me two samples of craft beers on tap, and I fell in love with the Cisco Cutter. Perfect winter beer without being too heavy(woody, light caramel, and spice). The wonderful caramelized onion focaccia bread with red pepper olive oil arrived a moment before the perfect beer. The awesome server then let me order a half salad, which I greatly appreciated. It was big enough for two and also delicious. If all that isn’t enough, the real star was the Boudine Blanc(forgive me for butchering the spelling). Diced scallop mixed with herbs, set in a casing, and then grilled = seafood perfection. Throw in a little cut of salmon and some delicately cooked asparagus = even more perfection. By no means do I want to diminish the tastiness of the oreo cake I had for dessert, but the entrée was just silly good. Notice the theme of using the word«perfect,» it’s not a coincidence. I don’t gush over restaurants much, but this one deserves it… so much so that I’ll be back tomorrow night.

This review is tough for me and it’s taken a while for me to write. We used to be regulars here. Back then I would have rated this an easy five stars. Service and food used to hit it out of the park. The food that you got for the price, especially at lunch, was just ridiculous. Then there was the day of the bad waitress. I mean really, really bad waitress. She was so incredibly rude we almost left. We were mostly ignored and when she did acknowledge our existence, she was slamming food or our check on the table. She spent the bulk of the time we were there complaining to her coworker. She left such a bad taste in our mouths that we didn’t go back for months. We finally went back, with my husband intending to turn around and walk right back out if she was working. She wasn’t, but we talked to one of the other waitresses and found out she was still working there. We did go back a few times after that and did not run into her, but ran into another problem — the scallops. Scallops prices had skyrocketed and to keep their prices low, they had severely cut back the amount of scallops in all of the scallop dishes. I can understand why they did it, but since I am a scallop lover I was a bit frustrated. We stayed away again for a bit. Finally, we made another visit a few weeks ago. Service was good. The food was also good. We ordered the scallop nachos and there was a decent amount of scallops. They have more of a cocktail sauce on them instead of salsa. I had a blue cheese burger, which was delicious, and my husband had a chicken salad sandwich which he thought was OK. He wished he had stuck to one of the seafood dishes, which he really enjoys. After our last visit, I don’t think we will stay away as long this time.

I love using Unilocal to find out of the way places I don’t get to visit. Elisabeth’s is a good find. The food was very good and the atmosphere was friendly/neighborly. Have a special, it is worth it.
