Windmill Market is a collection of local vendors and eateries housed under one corrugated roof. Restaurants include Sweet Olives which is right when you walk in the front door, and Mister Johns BBQ and Mary Ann’s Deli which are more self-contained in the back. There is also a Gourmet Pops stand in the back corner. Mixed in with these restaurants on the periphery are other vendors, like Fairhope Fruit and Nut with freshly made nut butters and roasted peanuts and a few gift shop type places selling art, t-shirts, photographs, and other crafts. The main atrium is seating for the restaurants and the Chasing Fresh grocery which sells a small selection of local produce, herbs, and berries, as well as organic basics like eggs and milk. Outside seating is also available among their garden beds and stage where they host community events. Overall, a cool place to stop by for lunch, and browse for shopping!

I am always very pleased with my experience! Always fresh local produce and never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants. A pretty cool place to grab lunch if your on the Eastern shore.

Our order was taken pretty quickly, however three orders came out before ours. I had to go in and ask where our order was and was told it would be out. 15 minutes more our food cam out and the response to what happen was that they had a rush of orders came in. I disagree there were three orders after ours!!! And people were just in line to place orders. Not a god experience and no mgr came out to address the issue.

This place is super fun! Fresh produce, a few places to get prepared food(including homemade popsicles!), and it’s all local! We stopped in quickly on our last day, and we will come back in on our next trip! I wish we hadn’t eaten already because I probably would have enjoyed their food more than what I actually ate. Oh, and they have wind turbines and use rainwater to keep their plants and stuff hydrated!

We love the Windmill Market — Mary Ann’s, the B Side and Sweet Olive restaurants all have really good food, and the grocery area and small shops there are cool also. We’ve bought some attractive, reasonably-priced local artwork there as well as some gourmet items. The music is another good reason to stop in and enjoy a drink or a casual meal.

Very cool place for some local Fairhope stuff! Three restaurants under one roof, local groceries, local art and other items, live music on many days. Fun little spot to grab lunch and hang out for a bit. Will be back for sure!
