Super 8 Fairmont

We stayed here on our way back home. The mattress was very old and soft. Pillows were next to nothing. My husband went to the car for ours. We had a smoking room and the burns in the carpet were unbelievable. The sheets came off the mattress in the night as they didn’t fit properly. Burn holes in the mattress also. The mattress cover also left a lot to be desired. The TV had to be 15 years old. WiFi was so slow I switched to cellular on my IPad. The bathroom was very tiny and in need of a new tub. When I used my hair blower on low the fluorescent light started flashing. The fan was so noisy my husband thought housekeeping was vacuuming in the hall. Breakfast was a disappointment we just grabbed a coffee and ran. I realize that Super 8 in an economy motel. But for the $ 90.00 we spent I didn’t expect a dive.

Very nice budget motel. It has interior corridors, nice size (clean) rooms & beds, and ample storage space. Bathroom small, but clean and neat. In-​room coffeemaker, mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron & board. Good A/​C! Even nice décor for a budget place. Desk staff were pleasant and efficient.
I’ve stayed in many of the local budget motels in Fairmont while visiting on family business, and this Super 8 is hands down the best of the bunch! For only a few dollars more than some dumpy places, this Super 8 is clean, neat, well-​maintained, and in a good location: right off I-​79 at Kingmont, next to a Holiday Inn Express, behind Cracker Barrel. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express too, and while it is probably the absolute best hotel in the area, the HI Express charges twice what the Super 8 does. :)
I wish I’d found this place earlier!

For the price this a descent pet-​friendly motel in the area. It is located right off of the Kingmont Road exit on I-​79. This allows for easy travel to the surrounding areas. It is easy to miss the turn into their parking lot though since there is not a sign indicating it on the road. The room was clean, the walls freshly painted. The bathroom does not vent well so after a shower the room was humid and the air conditioner couldn’t handle it too well, taking a while to cool the room back to a comfortable level. I recommend bringing your own pillow since the ones in room are flat and uncomfortable. Over all the place is ok, and serves its purpose as an inexpensive place to sleep when traveling with a pet.
