The new chef at Mulconrys is doing a kicking job. Went off the reservation and tried the balsamic chicken stack, which was outstanding. Also gave the beef tips a whirl – Delish fresh mash potatoes and a root vegetable hash – so good. They have new specials most nights that people are swearing by. If you haven’t been lately, retry. Oh, and the drinks flow…

I have been there a few times. Each time I have waited for the staff to stop socializing with each other and stop playing on their phones to even glance at me. The last time I was there I waited so long, a customer(who seemed like a regular) turned to me and said that I would be waiting awhile. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Grilled wings might be the best I’ve had in Roch. Good heat with the ghost pepper sauce but no need for a sweat towel. Good corn beef and cabbage. Service was not great but will be back for the wings for sure.

Mulconry’s is hit or miss. Some nights it has a great crowd, energetic staff, fun music. Other nights the crowd is loud and rude which turns the staff into not-so-happy employees(easily understood). Luckily they always have delicious food. So I’ll review on the food only… which earns 5 stars! Leaving 2-stars for the bar/music area nets us 3.5. I have ordered burgers, the reuben and the rachel, bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie boxty and much more from here. All SO good! The tater tots are perfectly cooked and crunchy every.single.time. One of my favorites in the village! Always nice to go and run into friends but I aim for the earlier hours of the night so not to run into any negative crowd.

Too loud. Can’t hear a thing. Limited menu. We wouldn’t recommend this place. People stand in the doorway and smoke, which in turn smoke fills the restaurant.

Nice little Irish pub/restaurant in Fairport, right by the canal. Pretty sweet… especially if you are Irish :) The atmosphere is great. The food is good. Definitely a place I would go back to.

While visiting at 1:15 on a Saturday just wanted to say thanks to our waitress who took 45 mins to allow us to drink one beer. We wanted food but apparently it’s my fault there wasn’t a hostess and they were«really backed up in the kitchen». The waitress was very rude and unprofessional and asked the next time if we visit and just want one drink please sit at the bar. We had hoped to get food but I don’t have all night to eat a late lunch. So thanks to that even though I was always really excited to visit I won’t be back. Hopefully there’s a manager somewhere for this establishment that may want to look at the employees and the professionalism that they don’t project.

We came during the Canal Days festival, so it was packed. After a shorter than expected wait, we were seated in a booth on the first floor. Our server was friendly and pleasant. Drinks came quickly and we ordered. Shepard’s pie for my lady and bangers and mash for me. I can’t address the authenticity of the dishes but the food tasted great!

I want to give 2.5 stars or change my first review to 4 so I can drop it to 3. Nothing was really wrong with our meal and experience. I had the Reuben as I did the first time I came here, but they have changed their bread from the amazing seed crusted bread I first had to regular ho hum rye bread. The meat was tender though. We also tried the boxty special of the day. I didn’t really know what to expect but I was hoping for a shredded potato pancake stuffed with love like an Irish arancini. Alas it was a pancake, maybe made with potato flour, topped with a pseudo chicken/artichoke French, topped with another pancake. Flavorful French rendition but dull, odd pancake.

Large menu with a great variety! I was with family before a cousins hockey game at Thomas Creek. Didn’t love my French onion soup but the salads looked great that were ordered. You can never go wrong stopping at this local spot in the village of Fairport!

I always have a good meal when I come here. Never disappointed with service or food. Its four stars since its not the best food in town, but it does have a charming and home-y atmosphere to make up for it.

Mixed quality of food – the buffalo chicken salad was good, the Reuben was mediocre. Our waitress was a bit icy so we didn’t feel comfortable lingering over a few beers.

I thought it was pretty good overall, but my 21-year old daughter raved about it after being taken there for a work lunch and begged me to try it, so I’m averaging our reviews together to make a 4 star. We both got the black bean burger. In all fairness, she said one of the best parts of the burger when she had it the first time was the spicy chili mayo, and she said it had lots of it. This time, the waitress pointed out how the cook/chef made us a smiley face with the sauce, which was cute, but she said it made for far less sauce. And not a lot of taste with just the burger, as far as I was concerned. Not bad taste, just more bland than I was expecting. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were very fresh and very good, as was the roll the burger was on. She ordered fries and I ordered tots, but we both ended up with fries somehow. They were good, but I was really hankering for the tots after I saw them on the menu. Our ketchup also was about empty. We asked for more(were sitting out on the patio), but the waitress forgot about us — apologized about it after the fact, but we finished our fries naked before she came back around. Overall, the service was okay — the waitress was pleasant, but we arrived at a few minutes after 1 on a Monday, and I didn’t expect it would take quite as long for someone to come around to take our drink order and regular order, and then get our food and eventually bill, on a weekday. Not sure about the inside, but there were only 2 other tables seated outside at the time, so didn’t seem too busy. I think we were served our food about 35 minutes after being seated, which wasn’t a huge deal for us, but for those hoping for a quick lunch during the workday, might be a problem. Overall, like I said, nothing tragic but nothing spectacular in my mind, either. But my daughter swears these burgers are the bee’s knees, especially with plenty of that sauce, and the prices weren’t too bad, so I’ll stick with a 4-star review.

Came here during canal days mid day on a Saturday. Actually wasn’t that busy that I thought was going to be. They do have an upstairs but the bottom floor had a ton of tables open. They have outdoor seating as well so of course that was full and only allowed people to sit out there if they were eating. We decided to split a sandwich or burger. The cons: decided to get the chicken wing Sammie. Mistake cause it was so small and not worth 9 bucks We Asked for blue cheese on the side but it came smothered in it And the waitress didn’t come to refill the water. Oh and we did ask for extra fries. I told the waitress before the food came out that we changed our mind and didn’t want the extra. The problem was the food came with one plate of fries on a separate dish. The bill came with an extra charge but we didn’t have extra fries. I paid anyway Pros: it tasted good and came already split for us, how nice! I don’t think I’ll come again mostly cause I just don’t live close by and I don’t want to risk another bad experience

Glad to see that Hope updated her review to say that she liked the food. The décor is unprentious since they fixed it up several years back. Early American Golf Course grill I’d call it. A lot of varnished wood The patio out front is great in the summer though the seating is limited. There’s hardly any traffic on Liftbridge(they’ face Liftbridge Lane, not Water St.) so it’s quiet as compared to many outdoor seatings. The fireplace in the dining room is a nice touch in the wintertime. If you sit against the wall that has the bar on the other side, it’s quieter in the restaurant during busy times. The bar can just get a bit noisy particularly when they’re showing Irish/English football on the TVs in the bar. The black and tan onion rings are always a good appetizer. They go so well with a Guinness that you have to try them. There’s something about the sweetness of a good Guinness draft that is hard to beat when put with sweet fried foods like the onion rings. I almost always get a Reuben or a Fish Fry. Both have never disappointed me. My wife loves to try their Boxty’s. Not my cup of tea but she loves the stuffed Irish pancakes. It just reminds me of the times when the Irish had to eat those darn things because there were too many potatoes around. The bangers and mash are more my cup of tea(see, I’ve worked tea into this review twice) and they don’t disappoint here. Juicy and tasty. In my opinion, much better than Donnelly’s down the street and a world above Blue Cactus at the other end of the street. A great place to enjoy the summer after a walk on the canal. Fairport has a lot going for it.

I’ve been back several times, I like this place quite a bit. Great wings, sheppards pie is excellent, the pretzel app is deep fried so it’s a little greasy but the dipping sauces are great and it’s pretty crisp. I like them. Beef on a Wick was OK, there are too many other things on the menu I’d order before getting that again. My kids love this place.

I’ve got to update my review because I’ve been here far too many times to let my last one stand. Mulconrys is a great pub. On my first few visits I wasn’t enamored by the food, particularly the boxtys. However, I’ve been to Mulconrys multiple since and have been quite impressed by the food. The Guinness here is fantastic. It’s fresh and it’s poured WELL. People call me crazy, but the rate at which that Guinness hits the side of that 20oz pint glass and the nitrogen bubbles rush down and then up… well, it matters. At this pub, the Guinness is often poured by Irish ex pats and they know just how to finish off the head with a «pride of the rim»(that beautiful mound of froth that, because of static energy, clings precariously to the rim without overflowing immediately). The shepherds pie is a beauty here. Yes, it’s covered with cheddar — which isn’t very much traditional — but it’s a wonderful hearty serving and tastes delicious. The fish and chips are also great. Slippery slimy white fish covered in crispy beer batter. It’s a loving rendition. The full Irish breakfast is a must-try. I don’t think another place in Rochester serves a full Irish ALLTHETIME. It’s complete wih black puddings and real Irish bangers… sigh. Speaking of bangers, the sausage rolls is another dish that tugs on my heart strings. Salty, juicy Irish pork bangers covered in buttery puffed pastry and baked until golden brown. A favorite snack of mine as a child, this is the only place in Rochester that I know with this on the menu. I hope to God it’s never taken away! If note, the service at Mulconrys can be very very good if you get the right person. One of the bartenders in particular — Joe — is an absolute delight. He’s chatty and funny without being intrusive and keeps us entertained and cheery. Always in a good mood, he remembers his customers faces and their likes and dislikes. You can’t ask for more than this! Finally, this pub shows English Premier League Football. I can head there on the weekends and my team will actually be on the television and the employees will actually know what I’m talking about when I bash Man City, Man United and Tottenham. This pub has all the makings of greatness. Bear in mind, I’m usually only there on weekend days. I’ve been there at night before when it’s packed and the food isn’t so great and the whole experience doesn’t come together the way it does during the day. But if you’re out in Fairport along the canal one day, head here for a Guinness. It’s bound to make your leisurely day even better!

The only thing Irish about this pub was the younger guy tending bar. But that was OK, we were comfortable. We felt welcome and the bartender actually interacted with us. The prices were high for the area, $ 5 for a shot of Jameson, really? But the beer was tasty and they did a proper pour with the Kilkenny and Guinness. Check it out.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too crowded and the staff was very friendly. The food though was ok at best. Definitely not something I’d be in a rush to come back for.
