We’re new in Fairport and have just gotten around to choosing a go-to Chinese take-out spot. Though delivery is ALWAYS ideal, I went with Sakura Garden instead of the joint right in the Village based on reviews, and sacrificed the convenience of delivery. It was so worth it though! The food was hot, and felt fresh — not like it’s been sitting under a heat lamp waiting to be scooped into cartons. I didn’t feel gross or sketched out after eating it… We’ve all been there with Chinese food. Admit it! I was tempted to give them 4 stars since they don’t deliver, but it seems like sit-down business is more their thing and I can’t really hold it against them. Might try a few other places, but I have a feeling this is our new Chinese… err Chinese/Japanese/Asian Fusion joint.

Thought I would try take out. Pleasant woman behind the counter. I don’t eat sushi so just got an order of spring rolls and chicken lo mein. Everything was hot tho the spring rolls were a little bland. The lo mein was good. Not a stand out but good enough.

I’ve been coming since they’ve opened and I’ve tried pretty much all of their sushi options. They remember who I am, treat me like a queen and feel really really good food. Who knew my love could be bought by food. Truly though I love their sushi options. I’ve done dine in and order out. Their both excellent. They do offer a 20% if you order online, which is handy. They are super fast and friendly. I’m a fan of most of the rolls, except any of the cream cheese based ones(like phili roll). That’s pretty much just because of my own tastes. Please try them out, they’re wonderful!

This restaurant is good for Fairport, but sometimes the raw sushi can be a bit fishy. Their cooked chinese food is excellent though! Lots of meat and vegetables!

Ordered take out. A shrimp tempura and California roll. Both decent for take out. Also ordered sesame chicken and fried dumplings. Both were ok.

My aunt and I ate in the restaurant. It was a little difficult to find, kinda just there in a back corner of the plaza. The inside was clean and service was pretty quick. I had a California and Philadelphia roll and my aunt had moo goo gai pan which she really enjoyed. I really liked the California roll, but the smoked salmon in the Philadelphia roll was a little strong for me. Many people came in for pick-up and most seemed like regulars, so I guess that’s the more popular way to order from there.

Love that I can get sushi and my husband can get Chinese food. Everything is fresh and amazing. Lunch specials are cheap for a generous portion. This is our go to spot if I am either craving Chinese or sushi!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. I went back again to see if they were having an off day, but it seems to be pretty inconsistent. Being new to the area I tried out the tempura and my son had sesame chicken. It was fairly bland and reminded me of panda express chain. The search continues for good chinese food in the Pittsford area.

I loooove it here. I think that some people miss out on this because it’s hiding in the corner of Perinton Plaza! But, you must come here. AMAZING sushi. Presentation is wonderful and the staff is so friendly. I have been here several times and would recommend this place over any other to anyone who loves sushi. Fair priced and fresh! For food I would recommend: Fairport roll(shrimp, avocado, lobster salad, eel and sauce), Spider roll(crab with green leaves, cucumber, avocado and red tobiko.), Golden Dragon roll(eel, avocado, lobster salad, mango and red wasabi). Anything here is good, though! One of my favorite places! :)

I really liked this place! Tucked away on the end in a little strip mall, I almost didn’t find this restaurant, thinking I must have gotten the address wrong. But once inside, I was very pleased. The quality of the sushi rolls we ordered was quite good, and prepared amazingly quick with beautiful presentation. Prices were reasonable as well. Great service. We stayed with sushi rolls on this visit, but noted that there is a large selection of non sushi menu items… great for when dining out with those who don’t enjoy sushi. Definitely worth returning to.

Chicken tempura is delicious and I usually get the salmon avocado or yellowtail jalapeño. They have great specials too! I always get the sushi and once I got the bento box which was pretty good.

What a nice surprise to find a place that does both Sushi and Chinese take out reasonably well. The Singapore Mei fun is a touch more peppery than many other places which is an enjoyable step up in a little more heat. The Eggplant with Veggies(gluten free) is yummy and has a nice touch of sweetness to the spice in the soft eggplant. The Classic roll combo and the Garden combo are both good choices. Not really adventurous, but solid basic sushi choices that any sushi place should be able to do well, and here they do both well. Takeout ordering can be done online, and takes advantage of the automatic offerings of coupons. With those the prices are reasonable and consistent with most similar restaurants.

We got pick up. They have a great 20% off deal online… so order on the web. We had an assortment of sushi, as well as general Taos and Lo Mein. Both entrees were delicious — the sushi was good, but, a little fishy. I suggest trying the Mexican roll — it’s a creative take on sushi.

Went for lunch and was excited to see pick 3 rolls with a salad and soup for 10.99. The soup and salad were good, but the rolls were just ok… not a lot of fresh fish… more mayo than I’d like. I got the spicy tuna, spice salmon and spicy yellowtail. Service was excellent though. Fast and friendly. :)

I ordered the Sushi Sakura Garden Entrée at $ 15.99 and hot tea for lunch. It included nine pieces of sushi and a tuna roll presented artistically on a large square white plate. Served with miso soup and lettuce salad. Everything was fantastic except for the tuna. It had different taste & texture than any I have ever experienced — not in a good way. The eel was the tastiest I have ever had. The Vegetable Tofu Soup was presented beautifully, and tasted just as good. Service was very attentive and professional. We sat at the sushi bar, which was not as well kept as others I patronize, and we couldn’t see our plates being created, so that was disappointing. I also didn’t care for the TV that was on above the bar. But, I will def be ordering takeout online, which provides a 20% discount for pickups :)

My boyfriend and I went to Sakura Garden with a Groupon on a Tuesday night. We ordered 5 specialty rolls and 2 beers($ 53.00). All of rolls were so delicious, fresh, and beautiful, with the exception of the salmon. It wasn’t terrible, but it did not seem as fresh as all of the other fish. Great wait staff, very attentive. We will be back!

I have been wanting to check this place our for a while. My boyfriends parents had rave reviews for it so ever since then i figured i needed to see what it was all about. Finally i went there today with my sister for lunch! They have a great lunch special three rolls for $ 10.99 along with soup and salad. The choice of rolls were pretty standard, nothing fancy. But it was just what I was looking for to help get my sushi fix. I got a spicy tuna roll, a spicy crunchy tuna roll and a boston roll. The soup was great and the dressing on the salad was very good as well. The rolls were delicious! They were filled with tuna and very large pieces. I forced myself to eat everything, I could have stopped after two rolls. I normally can house some sushi, but these were great size pieces. The staff was very friendly and fast. We were in and out with in 30 mins. I emailed my boyfriend immediately when i got back to the office to tell him how great it was and that i want to go back for dinner and get some specialty rolls. I also noticed that they have a two for $ 20 dinner special. That looked pretty good too!

My friends and I decided to go to this place as one of us was not a sushi fan and the other 3 of us wanted sushi quite badly. The service was extremely attentive and got us off to a good start. However when the sushi came, the experience went downhill. This place apparently has average American Chinese food as per a friend(my friend ordered General Tso’s chicken with fried rice… I would have bet money that the rice that came was brown rice. It was brown and had nothing else in it). The sushi was decidedly mediocre. The salmon was fishy and the texture was just as unappetizing. I am not sure they have the volume to turn over raw fish fast enough here. However, the rolls were prepared much better than most sushi places in town(tightly rolled, the pieces stayed together and there was just enough rice to coat the seaweed). They have a dinner special(1 appetizer + 2 entrees for $ 20) and very reasonably priced lunch specials(miso soup + salad + 2 rolls off a particular list for $ 7.99, 3 rolls for $ 10.99). So, you do get a lot of food for how much you pay. If I go back, I am sticking to the cooked rolls or the Chinese menu. But I probably won’t be going back, given the higher calibre of Asian restaurants around that immediate area.

Fresh veg spring rolls had shrimp in them and we suspect the bitterness came from the greens veg goyza delicious, the frying made them taste a bit charred, the filling was tender and varied regular veg lo mein golden dragon, the mango was sweet and tender peanut and avocado roll surprisingly unique, variety of textures and they used something like beer nuts as the center crunch spicy tuna, standard, not very spicy garlic eggplant, tasted of the oil that was pooling around it, there was a bit of grit in the broccoli with mixed vegetable accompaniment
