It was fine until our server forgot about us. I can forgive a lot of things, but if I have to get up and come looking for you when the restaurant isn’t even very busy I’m going to leave irritated. I should not have even left a tip, but I guess I’m a sucker.

My sushi was okay but fell apart in the chop sticks so difficult to eat. But the service made the whole experience disappointing. I visited for lunch with my boyfriend before going rock climbing. When the waitress approached the table, she tried her best not to make eye contact and rushed the entire drink order. When she came back to the table to take our order, we asked if miso soup was the only type of soup available. She responded very rudely«Yes, we only serve Japanese food. As this is a Japanese restaurant». This was rude and insulting. We quickly ordered as she was not willing to answer questions about the menu. She brought the food and again avoided eye contact. Upon leaving, I wrote her a note on my tip that said«smile more :)». As we walked out, no one said bye have a nice day or anything. I won’t be going there again.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a LEGITLOOKING sushi restaurant next to the jewelry store I was in to get my(engagement!!!) ring resized at, which only could mean that my eating at Wasabi was DESTINETOHAPPEN! There was ONE uneasy about sushi person in the party of five I brought it but I assured her that there would be enough non sushi foods for her to fill up on… And I was right! I ordered my usual order of a hamachi kama and salmon skin rolls, because, when I know what’s good… I don’t typically veer off of it! Others ordered rolls, spicy chicken, etc and I don’t think ANYONE had a problem with their meals*! I know I wolfed my food down without blinking an eye and enjoyed EVERYSECOND of my mastication! I was also impressed that they had Tamari Sauce(gluten free soy sauce), so props! I guess my only real complaint is that the service kind of took a long time… I would give them slack if there were a lot of other parties in this restaurant but It didn’t look like mid-westerners make a BLINE to sushi every chance they can get(like me)… So yeah, why did it take so long? Maybe they wanted to bring everything out at the same time, which honestly I actually like… Because man do I hate when I’m the only one eating at the table, LOL! Any who… While I’ll probably never eat at this restaurant again, I have to regale that it was tasty enough to make my staple restaurant if I lived in the area… Alas, I don’t, so nope! But to all you skeptics out there that think eating sushi in a landlocked state is «fishy»(Har Har), roll up your apprehension ;) and chow down! *The salmon skin Handrolls I ordered without rice… We’re good, as I loved the large portion of sliced skin they gave me… But my one critique would be to cook it a bit longer, as salmon skin should be a bit crispy, as opposed to soggy!

The noodles are amazing and the sushi is quality. So why is it only three stars out of five? Well, there are no small size options for the noodles and the prices are higher end for the atmosphere, so that’s one. And they got my takeout order wrong, and weren’t exactly keen on making it right. The best they were willing to do is a slight discount on my next order. Not exactly the hallmark of someone who takes their reputation seriously, if they only offer something that requires me to come back. So that’s the second star. Again, the food was great, but the experience was far from stellar.

Food is good, we’ll priced and kids eat free on Sunday. Service definitely could have been better. The hostest came by our table to ask us if we needed«help» while we looked at the menu. My wife asked if she meant if we were being helped or do we need help. She said, do you need help. My wife said no. She came back a few minutes later and asked if we had our drink order taken yet. We said no. Then she said, oh, that’s what I meant when I asked you if you needed help… Waitress took our order and said she would be right back with TA let settings. She brought our waters, but no table settings. So my two and four year olds of course made a mess with the water, had we had to find someone to bring us napkins. Other than that, not bad. Seems like this is a «learning» restaraunt when it comes to service.

I love this location for many reasons. Cory, who is usually at the front desk when I come in the evenings, is always very kind. I must admit that I am one of those customers who may walk in the door talking on the phone, but he smiles and waits patiently for the minute or two it takes me to get my mom to stop chatting so I can hang up. :). The place is very clean, comfortably lit, and the temperature and music volume are comfy as well. The rest of the staff is always friendly and cleanly dressed. I usually just get my orders to go, which never takes more than ten minutes. My pregnant belly and I appreciate that. However the few times my husband and I did fine in, our waiter has always been attentive and knowledgeable. Even the chefs behind the counter take the time to interact with you or warmly bid you goodnight. Those things aside, the food is great and affordable. I particularly like the fried rice and Philly rolls. And the food is what it’s all about, right? Yum :)

Sat and waited for service for 10 minutes. They seemed understaffed so maybe just the night but we left after not getting service. There are plenty of places to get Sushi with better services. I don’t have money to waste on poor service. I won’t be back.

They have crappy hours. I couldn’t eat on my break because I drove there and didn’t expect them to be closed in the middle of the day.

Food is ok, fresh, but the prices are a bit higher than some other places. They have cool clear glass tea kettles, and service staff is always good. The food can take about 10 mins per order to get to you, on weekends maybe 15 because they are busy. The rolls here can be more unique than at competitors, and they will make custom rolls if you ask. I always get greeted with a smile here, and they always make my kids or hubby feel welcome here too. They would get 4 stars if the hand rolls and nigri were bigger. For what you pay, I feel you should get more. The cut rolls are good size though. Cooked foods here are delish. I recommend them. Also, they frequently offer groupons that offer you more food for your buck.

Service was decent, but I don’t recommend sitting at the sushi bar, the«chefs» we’re not friendly and stood around talking about customers coming in and talking about female patrons like they were pieces of meat. Part of the appeal of sushi is to sit at the bar and have fun talking to the sushi chef and getting recommendations on sushi. This is not that place! My family and I will NOT be back.

Good sashimi but cut thin. Very fresh and the staff and owner couldn’t be more nice and helpful. However, it is a chain. Some of the prices. For what you get seem high compared to other places. And I do love good sashimi. They have sushi and other food but the wait staff never explains the menu.

This is my favorite sushi place in the metro east. Great deal! Great service! I go often in Monday’s when it’s ‘happy hour’ all evening. Buy one get one free off a list of rolls and nigiri. I have not had bad food here once. The wasabi paste is yummy and the ginger format have artificial colors. The presentation is fantastic and the servers are knowledgeable.

To my fellow business travelers: don’t waste your time. I love sushi and seek it out in almost every town I can. I know good sushi and I know bad sushi. This is bad.

Went here for lunch with a girlfriend. No wait for a table but drink and food orders took 20 minutes even though there were few people there. The fried rice is to die for! Sushi B is my go to. The 10% discount is always honored. Great place to go to if you’re in the mood and in the area.

Ordered the spicy chicken and fried rice which came with miso soup or a salad. I got the miso soup. Immaculate describes it best. My Husband ordered the California roll. He loved every bit of it. Cody was our server who is also the manager. It is awesome to see a manager on the sales floor and caring enough about each customer. His customer service was first class. Cody, keep up the great job. Your staff rocks as well. Thank-you all. We will be returning very soon!

It kinda sucked, obviously ours was not fresh. My sushi rolls kept falling apart etc. VERY disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I knew this place was going to be expensive, but given their military discount, I figured it was worth a shot. I ordered their edamame and our server suggested I try it with Sriracha. Having never done this before, I agreed and oh my goodness… I’m never eating it without Sriracha again. I did their pick two for $ 10 and got the agedashi tofu with a vegetable roll. The tofu was delectable, but my roll was ho hum. The pinnacle of my Wasabi experience was my martini recommendation: the cosmo flora. They make this amazing drink with some kind of candied hibiscus. Really and truly, I’ve never tasted a drink like this. Despite being $ 11, it blew my mind. I will come back if only to order one of these(and I literally mean ONE at that price).

Nom Nom Nom… Sorry this is my absolute favorite out of every sushi place I have been. They even have a Teryaki Chicken roll called the dragon roll for all you non-fish lovers. When Maggie Moos left this location I serious about cried. I though nothing could ever replace them. Then one of my fellow Unilocalers Tim G tells me that Wasabi is in Fairview Heights. It took me a half hour of driving and I realized it’s in the Barnes and Noble Parking Lot. I had excellent service, outstanding food, and the set up is nice! I love it better than the other STL locations. Tip: They offer a 15% Military discount off food and non-alcoholic beverages. ++++++
