Not very good produce. A&P has been bought out though, and the store is closing. Shelves have been empty lately. Hopefully somebody buys out this location and it’s replaced with something nicer.

A&P is closing, I heard by Nov 19th. Maybe why all the problems with the produce. I am very sorry to see it go. I was a customer since day it opened.

Bought cadbury ice cream on Sept 6, 2015 only to discover once home that the pack had been opened then sealed with tape. Inside the bars were totally disorganized Ice cream bars were half defrosted and had that strange texture of defrosted stuff that been put back in the freezer.

Avoid like the plague! The store locks the front doors an hour or two early to prevent customers from entering and you have to bully your way through the exit doorway and all the cashier lanes to get in while the store is still open for business! They are constantly under stocked and do not carry a lot of the sale items. Trying to get a rain check for out of stock sale items is a nightmare. The staff here seem apathetic, rude, and not knowledgeable of their own merchandise and policies. You’re better off heading to Shop Rite in Pal Park or Food Basic on Bergen Blvd.

The manager is condescending, uneducated and rude. Becareful with their meats especially if on sale. Produce is over priced and all other products on the shelves are alredy expired or a day away from expiration, such as the yogurts and milk. If you need help at check out most of the cashiers are overtly rude and seem bothered.

Decent prices, very accessible(easy parking on the street or in the covered lot), and good selection. You’ll get more variety in the Pathmark down the road, but for convenience, this place is great if you live on River Road.

Personally, I’m really not a big fan of A & P simply because of how much everything costs. I feel as though their prices are higher then say ShopRite or Stop n Shop when they don’t need to be. I will say though their produce is always fresh as are the meats. This particular store is always clean and the employees are friendly.

Came here the other day for my grandmas flu shot. Fast and friendly service at the pharmacy. We were in and out of there in 15 – 20 mins with no appointment needed.

Not the biggest fan of this A&P Food Store. Their organic selection is horrible, their setup confusing. I feel like their produce is limited and I came across expired items more than once. Other than the disappointing food selection, their personnel is the rudest I have ever seen in a supermarket. Seems like they are all frustrated with their job or don’t get enough paid. I was accused of stealing during self-checkout or made fun of because the bottle of water I wanted to buy didn’t have a scan code on it. If you are lucky, there are two cash registers open but other than that, there is always a long line and wait time when you want to check out. The only good part about this grocery store, and probably the only reason I keep going there are their opening hours compared to their competitors in the area.

Avoid this disgusting supermarket at all costs! Being a local resident I always liked the idea of a local A&P being so close to my home. However when you consider the other options in the area it easily puts into focus how behind the times this store is. I would suggest anyone living in the area to go instead to Pathmark in edgewater or the walmart in north bergen instead. Even the A&P in fort lee is ten times better. Pros: 1. Local 2. Less crowded 3. easy parking 4. Some of the staff seem very friendly and willing to help if you have a question.(I say some because it really depends on who you get) Cons: 1. Nearly every item in the store costs more than other stores 2. You need to check the expiration dates on everything you buy because the staff surely does not. 3. The store looks dirty and run down like it is a relic of the past 4. If you go to the store you will always see a constant parade of elderly people. Its always fun to see them using the self check out all at once with full shopping carts. Be ready to wait a long time in those situations because the store is so understaffed you would be lucky to see more than 1 – 2 checkout lanes staffed by an actual person. 5. The small size of the store in comparison to other supermarkets 6. The deli counter section is very limited and seems to carry very generic meats like thumans brand and whatnot. 7. I have never actually seen a manager on the floor trying to help customers or look at what needs improvement. I guess its ok for the occasional item or two in terms of being close to home, but regular grocery shopping I would say it is worth the trip to other places with better prices and a larger selection of goods.

This is the least desirable A&P in the area. EVERYTHING about it is inferior to the A&P on Lemoiine. The ONLY thing it has going for it is that doesn’t have the bridge traffic and it generally less busy, so parking is plentiful. Oh yeah, it’s a straight-shot down Anderson Avenue from my house. Except for the ease of getting here, I would always go to the Lemoine store. They are equidistant fro my house. Here’s the lowdown on this place: * Produce selection not as good as Lemoine * Dirty. I tried to use the restroom this evening and had to walk out. It was disgusting and obviously not maintained. * Small * Employees are gruff and not professional * Deli features Thuman’s cold cuts, rather than Boar’s Head, which is carried by the Lemoine Store. * Main entrance is locked at 9 and you have to go in through the checkouts. It’s an awkward setup. On the upside, it’s an A&P, so have the same selection of basics. It’s also less crowded. I can go here if the GWB area is just too crazy, but it’s always second choice.
