Dollar General Store

Small, tight squeeze aisles. It wasn’t REALLY A DOLLAR store at all! Things cost way more. Kind of like a cross between Big Lots and 99cent store. Not sure I would go there again, even IF I lived in Tennessee!

Um, clearly I haven’t gone to a Dollar General in a while. I had in mind more like one of those «Everything’s a Dollar» stores where the stuff in there is generally not worth the dollar you have to spend.
We had to stop in here to look for a dog leash. They had a retractable one for less than you would spend at the pet store. Other things I liked: name brand snacks (chips, etc), real Cokes (not buddy brand that tastes faintly like sugary carbonated water), bread, etc; cleaning supplies for cheap; a play cube for my cat; marked down razors and other beauty items; clothes (if you need a T shirt in a pinch); and all sorts of other things you didn’t know you wanted. This was like a mini-​Walmart or even Walgreens. Just a little bit of stuff that you need or that you want. Or just discovered you want.
If you are cruising through Fairview and need some random items, you could do a lot worse than Dollar General!
