Everytime i order delivery from this place i tell myself the same thing. Never again! Recieved a soggy belgian waffle with no syrup or butter, even soggier steak fries, no salt or ketchup. Ordered a coffee with no sugar, they put sugar, Ordered a bagel *not toasted*, they toasted it. What a joke this place is, no regards for the customer all they care about is the money.

Best place for weekend bagels! Love to come here and sit down instead of bringing a bagel home like most places in the area. My fiancé loves the egg sandwiches and I love their bagel w/cream cheese, lox, capers, & onions. Their flavored coffee is also AMAZING! We need to come in to try their burgers one day, because stuffed burgers sound great!

Every weekend, or whenever I have spare time, I always stop by what my family and I call the Bagel Store, for a cappuccino and an everything bagel. The food is always sublime and all of the food preparation(and the whole restaurant of course) is very clean. The group of old men who own the café are always hanging out there and are lovely people. They make a conscious effort to get to know their regulars and make sure to always greet them with a smile. The teenage girls, who work the weekends as of a few months ago, really hold the joint together, and they haven’t gotten my order wrong once. Now… Onto the cons/bad experiences I’ve had with them. About six months ago, one of the people who really made sure the orders were correct, left to go back to her home country. After that, I was worried that they would have to close. They were getting orders wrong left and right, they were burning bagels, and muffins, etc. And additionally, even when they got your order wrong, it would be a 25 minute wait. As for bad experiences, I was in Hackensack, NJ, Bergen County, on business. I wanted to order from them because their website states FREEDELIVERYTOHUDSONANDBERGENCOUNTY. I called to make sure they would deliver before I ordered online. The man who answered said: Hackensack, that’s a little far don’t you think? Maybe if I had a few days notice, I might be able to send someone over, but it would have to be a giant order. I said thank you and he hung up the phone. It wasn’t only his bit of an attitude, but it also annoyed me that I shouldn’t have to call to make sure you will deliver, if your website says you will. However, I will say that I love the bagel store, will always continue to return on my weekends, and they have come a long way since screwing up orders left and right.

Stopped here once or twice for morning muffins and occasionally a sandwich. There used to be a blonde lady who worked the counter who was very pleasant– haven’t seen her in a while– the atmosphere is pretty dead and elitist now. Had them deliver to work once, they screwed up the order and we’re pretty unapologetic, however, chalked it up to a one time issue and didn’t make a big deal out of it. Well, fool me once… Second time getting delivery the order was all wrong again — and after we tried to reach out to them, the person on the phone was curt and made a big deal about it(when obviously it wasn’t anyone’s fault but whoever packed it). The delivery man was pleasant at least. Then took a look at a greased up crumpled bag only to realize it was the cookies I ordered all mashed up. I thought they stuffed greasy French fries in it. Nah. Cookies. I will be adding a pic of it to my review. Overall, just a careless experience.

the food here is decent but they seem to be completely incapable of getting a simple order right. I ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon on it and got a sandwich filled with ONLYFUCKINGBACON, and that was only today, they haven’t gotten my order right the last 3 times I’ve gone, I mean come on dude, get your shit together. It’s seriously like they don’t pay attention at all when you order. It is extremely annoying and has caused me to write this place off for a good long while. On top of that, the prices are unreal, I’ve had better sandwiches for half the price i pay here.

Stopped by a week ago while staying a couple of nights in Fairview. It was very clean and quiet. I paid less than $ 10 for a good sized meal and still took half of it home. Would definitely return.

Don’t know how I stumbled across this place, but all I know is that they have legit bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Every time I come here I get the same order: Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted. And it is the best bagel sandwich I’ve had in jersey. They have lots of breakfast options on the menu, but they seem a little pricey. They also have a wide selection of fresh bagels to choose from. I’m going to have to eventually switch it up and order something else on the menu, but in the meantime they’re my go to local breakfast bagel joint.

Friendly service. Clean and comfortable. Fresh bagels, might be a little dense /substantial to some. I like spicy food so the jalapeño bagel is a favorite. Muffins baked in house as well, from scratch, can be a bit dry so having it toasted and a little butter help. Had the Tijuana Cheesesteak panini — flavors were good, plenty of meat, however it was a bit on the dry side, had to put a little mayo. One Monday, we placed an order through their website for the $ 6.50 Panini lunch specials — which includes a bag of chips and 20 oz. soda(as printed on take out menu and stated in the details section for their website/online ordering). When food was delivered, the bill showed that our credit card was charged a few extra dollars. The café claimed soda was supposed to be canned soda and not 20 oz plastic bottle — hence the surcharge. We did not receive any call prior to the delivery, they just charge our credit card extra — not cool. This has been a ongoing issue with this café and it’s quite frustrating to see it’s not fixed yet. For that I had to take a star out — sorry Metro, fix this problem or refund us, then we will update our review. Think it’s only fair.

bagels are tasty, crusty outside, chewy inside sandwiches are delicious as well the prices are kinda high for a local café if you order anything besides a special, each component is an additional charge so in the end, a sandwich can cost $ 10-$ 12…hello nyc deli prices! service is a crap shoot… there is definitely an issue with handling multiple customers a simple order, bagel or sandwich, at the counter, will have a better chance of making it through without a hitch… i wouldn’t bother with delivery great food but the sporadic service makes this an occasional spot

I’m extremely torn on this place.(As I am on my home state of NJ.) I do enjoy it. The food is extremely well prepared. The egg white based entrees are actually really delicious and if you are trying to work out it has an extensive plethora of Myoplexes, protein supplemental beverages, energy pick me ups and diet you name it. So why not a 5 star review because if you are on any sort of budget eating even semi regular breakfast at Metro Café is unsustainable. To paraphrase Jimmy McMillian of the«Rent Is Too Damn High» Party. THEPRICEISTOODAMHIGH! If you were to make even two simple modifications your omelet is up charged twice even for simple normal modifications add a protein drink. your up in the $ 12 or $ 13 dollar ball park for an omelet that is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller in mass than an omelet you can get at any ol’ Jersey Diner. I understand what the owners are trying to do. They are hoping to capitalize on the gym near by and exploit that«I’ll pay ANYTHING for breakfast, so long as it is healthy and fits into my dietitians regiment» crowd. I get it but please offer the rest of the 99% a $ 5 breakfast special that is STILL healthy. The food here is really delicious and they go out their way to offer genuinely health conscious options that taste fantastic. But what about the average Joe who is not making Jersey Cop money?

The other day I ordered from this café during my lunch period from work. I ordered a Waldorf salad platter with chicken. I didn’t receive my food until an hour after. Not only that, there wasn’t any chicken in my salad platter! So then I called them, and said you guys didn’t give me any chicken. One employee said, «WEARESTILLLOOKINGFORTHECHICKENONBERGENLINE». I was furious and frustrated, and then he said do you still want us to deliver the chicken and I said yes! It took another 40 – 45 mintues to receive just the chicken. As you can see the customer service was horrendous.

Five stars for the Wednesday Brisket and the daily Roast beef! Both to die for. The food is well prepared, sandwiches are nice sized. Breakfast bagels are also very well done. The expresso is nice and strong. Friendly staff, cleanliness and a bunch of regulars round out the place

Great bagels and breakfast sandwiches but slow service. I will be calling my order in next time. The french toast bagel is delicious, the perfect amount of sweetness and it tasted JUST like fresh toast.

I found this place on my local search for great breakfast so figured I would give it a try. My usual breakfast of choice when on the go is always a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a roll. This is what I ordered from Metropolitan and I must say it was OK. The roll was fresh, but everything else about it tasted old. I asked for no pepper on my order and it came with pepper.(Had to drown the sandwich with ketchup to get the taste out) The service was great. The staff who took my order was very friendly and greeted me with nice smiles. This for me is important especially on a Sunday morning. The location was clean and the area nice suburban type lifestyle. I did think it was a bit pricey for the breakfast sandwich. $ 5.50 to be exact. I would probably be going back again to give the lunch specials a try and the sandwiches they make there.

Good lunch specials $ 6.50 including chips and a drink. Variety of different wraps, paninis and sandwiches. Salads are huge and filling! Bomb ice coffee :) Our office never gets delivery cause it takes forever… 5 min drive isn’t bad for pickup.
