My husband and I went here to watch Quickchester play. We eventually figured out that The Local Joint and The Joint Next Door are separate businesses, the former being a restaurant and the latter, a bar, on opposite ends of a gas station. The hostess very cordially showed us across the gas station to our intended destination. What a surprise! This was a comfortable, friendly, local gathering place with a decent tap list, and a menu available from the restaurant side, with food being delivered to the bar. We had a pleasant evening enjoying good music, snacks, and new friends. It was worth the drive to Fairview.

I’m a somewhat regular patron here and only after having multiple bad experiences do I feel that this establishment warrants a one-star review. Tonight we waited over an hour and a half for our food which was never actually ordered. We then received a poor explanation as to why our food never arrived. By the time WE(not the staff) figured out that they had forgotten about us, it was at least another half hour wait just to get our food to go. When paying the bill we were given one meal which was not sufficient for the amount of time we had to wait. To add insult to injury, when we were leaving the bartender who originally took our order was out front smoking a cigarette. She apologized for the food taking so long and suggested that we get angry with the cooks next time prior to ordering our food?!? Perhaps she’s tasting too much of their goods? In any case, a solid apology and a free meal would have sufficed vs. blaming the cooks. Will never make this mistake again. As a bar, it’s okay. Service sucks, but it’s the only bar in town.

We had a 50th birthday party for two people there. Perfect in every way! A great band, amazing appetizers, a very convenient system to run a tab, great selection of beer, wine and cider. Really great people and an awesome local bar. Highest recommendation.
