Tried Marios for the first time today. Meat and spinach pies were great. I also picked up manche(sorry spelling’s off) wasn’t what I expected but I probably grabbed the wrong thing. Marios menu is pretty extensive and I’ll be back. I wish this business well. I would recommend it to friends.

Im usually a big fan of sams only because it was what i grew up with. one day when they were closed we stumbled on georges which is now the new marios. I prefer them now over sams. The taste is consistent, the dough is thicker which in my opinion makes for a better meatpie then the thin bread that breaks all apart. They are also a little greasy which to me makes the meatpie even more delicious! I go here now instead of sams… love them! Give it a try. Also staff are prompt and friendly. If you need sweetbread they sell it here too like sams does. Same products available. Oh and another great thing, THEYTAKEDEBITCARDS !!! Yay =)

This bakery is worth looking for, tucked away on a residential street everything is delicious! I bought spinach pies broccoli pies baklava and thin crispy Cracker like snack sprinkled with Lebanese spices and sesame seeds. The spinach pies have a lemony taste and are not typical Italian spinach pies. Let your palate step out of its blah comfort zone and give Mario’s a try

Mario’s bakery has great pies… the only downside is that much of the time I’ve been there, they only have cold bagged pies… not hot & just made. still good thought, and worth the trip

I went on a Sunday morning to get some Lebanese meat pies. My plan was to get 6 from Mario’s and 6 from Sam’s bakery. The parking lot was empty at 10am, not a great sign. I went in and found the place clean an very quiet. I was helped immediately, bought my 6 pies and left. The pies were cold leading me to think they had been cooked earlier in the morning, not a problem. I then went to Sam’s bakery, the parking lot was full, luckily I have a handicap parking pass. I went in and the place was packed, not the prettiest place around but then that is not what you are there for. I bought my 6 pies which had just come out of the oven. They were selling pies as fast as they could make them. with no less than 6 people working just to keep up with the demand. When I went out to the car I had to have one nice and hot right there in the parking lot, plus another one on the drive home. Later I did a side by side comparison. Both pies are very good the dough is nice and the meat is lean. The difference comes in the seasoning. Mario’s has a very mild flavor, not as much of the spices as sam’s. I liked Sam’s spice level more, but if you find it too strong Mario’s would be for you. Mario’s is a great bakery but not nearly as popular as Sam’s Bakery one street over.

I came here because the competition, where I normally go, was closed. And what do you know? I discovered that I like Mario’s better! Of course the meat pies are really good, and the open cheese pies too. But the«broccoli and cheese» pies are surprisingly terrific! I went back two days later and bought a whole bunch more. They all freeze well, and I re-heat them in a toaster oven.

Dear Mario’s Bakery, I’m kind of mad at you, because in all the time I have lived in RI, I had no idea you were there, and now I’ve become certifiably obsessed with your Lebanese meat pie with yogurt. I do not understand how you can simultaneously add yogurt to the ground lamb and keep the outer shell crispy, nor understand how it is so savory, less greasy, a little sweeter and less sour overall than your competitor Sam’s the next block over. AND your pies are a little cheaper too(seriously $ 1.25/pie?!). How dare you tempt me like that!!! I’ve only been there once and eaten your pies at a friend’s place once, and I’ve already eaten TENPIES total. Are you kidding me! Now I have to ride my bike more to work off the carbs! It’s all your fault!!! Yours truly, Alma C. p. s. Please work on a low carb version and open up a shop in Providence, RI. thanks!

It’s good. I’ve had better though. One thing I don’t like about this place is that they try to sell their products by the bag. Sam’s on the next street still sells one at a time. You can buy one of this and one of that or a hundred of that.

I admit when I hear ‘bakery’ I expect extravagant frosting filled pastries that are bad for you. Thankfully, Mario’s does not specialize in any of that. The food is amazing– perfectly seasoned, very fresh and clean tasting, and everyone in my family has their favorite. The meat pies are like nothing you’ve ever had – and they keep really well, so don’t be afraid to buy extra for later(I usually do). Very friendly. I recommend to everyone.

A great hole-in-the wall Lebanese bakery. Meat pies perfectly spiced You can watch them bake the pita. The hummus is made there — delicious! And a variety of imported-from-Lebanon foods.
