There’s nothing like Mr. Chicken that I know of in the Southcoast — a Portuguese restaurant that exclusively does takeout. You walk in and pretty much all your Portuguese Meat and Fish favorites are on display ready to be purchased by the plate or by the pound. I’ve been here a few times, but today I got serious and tried a few things on the menu: –Whole Barbecued Chicken($ 8.50 — half is $ 6). This was some of the best Churrasco I’ve had in town and actually gives Caldeiras a run for the money –Full Rack of Spare Ribs($ 17). There is no comparable in town. I recommend it — Flavorful, tender and good to go. –Swordfish — classic overcooked Portuguese fish — good option though if you’re trying to keep it lean and need some cooked fish aside from Tuna to add to your salad or meal –Chicharros(baby mackerel) and Sardinhas. These compete with Caravela’s, but take 2nd –Sides: The rice was great, Fries were average and their special sauce(red) is pretty good. Keep in mind, it’s not a 5star restaurant. But for a take-out joint, it’s easily 5 stars.
