Recon Tattoos

The tattoo guy Shawn is not to professional. Never would return a call or a text for a appointment. Tried several times. I moved on.

This shop is not interested in any new business! They do not answer the phone and if you do go down there in person and get an appointment chances are they will cancel on you a few minutes before the appointment. I called this shop about 8 times and left 4 messages that i was interested in getting a large piece and would like a price quote. I finally drove over to the shop and spoke to Shawn while he was locking the store up early to head home for the night to be with the wife and kids. Shawn set me up with an appointment for the next day. When i arrived at the shop for my appointment i was informed that Shawn was baby sitting the kids in the tatto parlor and would not be able to tatto that day. Of course i was looking forward to my appointment and was really let down that Shawn cancelled on me when i arrived for my appointment. (A call would have been nice since he had my contact number.)
I left the shop and continued to look for another shop that wanted to make some money since we are talking about multiple hours that would add up to $ 800‑1000 once the entire piece was complete. What really concerned me when I was searching the web on Tatto history for Sean I noticed he has a (GO FUND ME PAGE) where he is asking people for donations to help with medical bills and to take care of his family. I’m all for helping people during hard times. It’s just sad Sean would rather take hand outs VS WORKING for money to support his family. I highly recommend LIL C TATTOO SHOP IN FALLBROOK.
I received excellent customer service in a very clean relaxed studio. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment dealing with Recon tattoo. Just keep driving a few streets down and GO SEE LIL C for his excellent tattooing skills and an awesome vintage tattoo parlor that is very clean and fun to be tattooed at!

Went in on a referral from a friend of mine. Met with the shop owner bill told him what I wanted with a touch of his flare put into it. Couldn’t complain. Outlines were done super quick and on point. Shading and all as well. Couldn’t complain, unique shop setup very interesting! Great work, still have to head in for another session and can’t wait!

If I could give 10 stars, Shawn would get them. Our Sister tattoos came out EXACTLY how we envisioned, if not better! Shawn is a great artist and very personable as well! Had a great time even with the pain involved! Lol. Oh I’ll be back!

Shawn is AMAZING. Seen him grow in skill & talent. He is worth the drive to Fallbrook.
Beautiful tattoo shop with lots of great art & skateboards check it out if you are in this lovely town or if you feel like making the drive up you will not be disappointed!

Shawn did a cover up for me and it turned out amazing! I was so nervous since I’ve had this massive butterfly tattoo on my low back (I know I know!) for almost 14 years and thought it would never go away. Shawn drew a beautiful Lotus flower for me and the work he did was amazing.
I’ll be back for more!

Shawn Hill is most certainly a man that has paid the cost to be the boss. His talent far exceeds that of any artist I have come across from here to North Carolina. My sleeve gets more compliments than pictures of my own kid, needless to say this man will be tattooing me henceforth.

5 stars for Shawn Hill! There was a huge miscommunication between myself and my husband and Bill and Shawn. Shawn really stepped up to take care of us and did an amazing job. Also, the price was very reasonable. We’ve definitely been taken advantage of in the past by other shops, however Shawn is very straight forward, friendly, and talented. Definitely going back for future tattoos and would recommend to anyone, first time or 100^th time.

First off for me to leave a review my experience has to be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad.
After spending several dozen hours and over 3 grand on my sleeve at LOWRIDER tattoo and still not being satisfied I came here to recon bill…
With great prices and work he literally re did my sleeve and brought my sleeve back to life.
Highly highly recommend.

I have 2 half sleeve tattoo’s that Bill did, both turned out perfect, I am so happy. I would recommend Bill if you are looking to do your first tattoo, you won’t be disappointed.

I looked for months for a shop to do my tattoo. I wanted a white ink tattoo. I had the pleasure of Shawn being the person to do the job for me. I was nervous at first. It was my first tattoo on my back on the ribs. He was nice, found the best placement, writing, the works. Gentle on the hand work. He also had the pleasure of tattooing my friend throat tattoo. She said he was great! I would recommend him and the shop to any friend looking for a great artist that is attentive.

Just went to get my first tattoo, done by the amazing Bill! He was so sweet and helpful during the whole process. I was pretty nervous and he made me feel at ease. He also let me feel the gun with some water first, so I knew what to expect. My tattoo looks so good and the price is very very reasonable. If I ever get more tattoos I’m coming here for sure ;)

Let me start by saying that I am not easily pleased as a customer. I nit pick everything and I am always skeptical. Recon tattoo is EXCELLENT!!! I never had a doubt in my mind as to their talent, dedication, cleanliness and attention to detail. Let me start at the beginning: I had some work done previously, it was a mess. I have been searching for an artist that I could work with to fix it and add to my collection of tattoo artwork. I called Bill and got in the next day. He not only fixed my tattoos, he made them a masterpiece! The work is impeccable! Every line straight, every point of a flame pristine. The shop is CLEAN. Bill is extremely mindful of sanitation protocol and practices. My husband has been anti tattoo and skeptical, and even he got his first tattoo here. No regrets, he loves it! It looks as though it was stamped on. Bill is truly a masterful artist and superb with a tattoo gun. My husband and I were there in the chair for a total of 6 hours. I appreciated my experience so much that I actually prepaid for 8 extra hours of tattoo work so that I could come back at a moments notice. If you need a tattoo, this is the place to get it. During the week it seems slower and easier to get in for an appointment, He opened the shop for me to meet with him so flexibility is definitely an option. They have a bunch of photos on their facebook page if you dont believe that these guys are masters of their craft!

Props to Recon Tattoos for dealing with an extremely nervous client!
I came here with my husband, his brother and his father — they wanted to get matching tattoos. well, my husband and his dad did. but the brother in law, not so much (his first tattoo). Anyway, after hours of convincing, we were finally ready. We walked into the tattoo shop and the artist said we had to come back in an hour because he had just mopped the floor and it had to dry. Kindof weird but since we live down the road it wasn’t really a big deal. (If we didn’t live in the area we probably wouldn’t have come back).
We came back and the artist (I think it was Shawn) was done mopping and ready. The tattoo was pretty simple, just their last name on the inner bicep. The lines were clean and the work was nice, I’m not sure how he does with bigger pieces but the lettering was pretty much perfect. It took a lot of drama and more convincing to get the bro-​in-​law into the table and inked up but it finally happened.
The shop was clean (freshly mopped floors) and I would definitely go back, maybe next time I’ll get one!

Bill did a really amazing job on my tattoo! He really listened to what I wanted and executed it with ease. The shop is clean, and I felt comfortable there. I would definitely go back to get more work done. I already plan on having a cover up and some touch ups on other tats done.

what everyone else said. these guys are as good as it gets! I’ve had the pleasure of having Bill tattoo my sides for me. both were sizeable pieces and the detail was delicate. Bill nailed the tattoo and (with my permission) put in his own twist to the piece which made it look even better! it took a little longer than anticipated, but the piece came out perfect, healed quick, and looks like it doesn’t need much (if any) touching up. definitely coming back for more.

I have known both Shawn and Bill for many years. I had some work done prior that Shawn was not only able to fix but also improve. Have and will NOT go anywhere else for my ink. These guys are top shelf all the way!!!
