Following serious surgery, my hospital referred me to Caregivers, and I feel very lucky. Every aspect of their services went perfectly, from the initial contact through my last discharge. For several weeks a Caregivers visiting nurse came three times a week to check on me and do a blood test, and for six weeks a physical therapist visited twice a week to start me on a rehab program. Both were sterling professionals, and on top of that they were cheerful and encouraging — I looked forward to their visits as a useful and important part of my recuperation. Both were incredibly flexible, working around doctors’ appointments and adjusting their schedules as needed. In addition, both were extremely reliable, making it through some awful weather to make their visits. While I required only limited contact with the Caregivers office — basically to establish service when I was discharged from the hospital, they too were extremely pleasant to work with. I know it’s never really good news to have to have home health assistance, but based on my experience, having Caregivers means at the very least having one less thing to worry about.
