Maybe I just got her on an off day but my experience was awful. I’m a registered nurse and was trying to find a new PCP for a physical and to talk about a few health issues that had popped up over the last few months. I mentioned my newly developed anxiety issues, some GI problems I’ve had, and how I’ve been ridiculously cold for the last few months(like shivering at work when I’m running around taking care of patients while my fellow nurses are sweating). I thought I might have a thyroid issue. I kid you not, the woman must have told me to do yoga and pilates 10 times throughout my appt for every issue I mentioned. So that was annoying, especially b/c I exercise with cardio/weights 3times/week and at 5’7 and 130lbs weight is not my issue… she just kept saying how it could help with my anxiety and GI problems, and that I might just be cold b/c it’s cold out. Thanks lady, huge help. But the scary part was after getting my blood work back. Now, like I said I’m a nurse and I work on a cardiac floor where I look at lab work on all my patients numerous times/day so I know when to worry and when not to if something looks a tad off. My lab values were so low(my H/H was 7 and 23) that had I been a patient on my floor I would have received a transfusion… and no one from the office(Dr. Han, nurse, no one!) even called me! Not ok. I could have been bleeding somewhere and had no idea, and if I weren’t a nurse I would have just assumed everything was fine. Needless to say I went to a different physician today who took one look at my lab work, freaked out as much as I had and ordered that they be repeated as well as telling me that I have to get an endoscopy/colonoscopy, and possibly a blood transfusion(depending how my numbers look when these labs come back) and iron infusion. Obv I’m not thrilled with all that news and if I didn’t know anything about blood work or medicine I might think my new doc was being a little over zealous but if I had a patient with that same symptoms and numbers I’d expect their doc to order the same. Here’s hoping it all works out! oh, and as for my anxiety, my new doc prescribed me something for it but also mentioned it might be due to my low H/H b/c my brain isn’t getting enough oxygen to operate at peak performance. Whew!

Dr. Han is the best doctor I have ever had. Period. She cares about her patients, is knowledgable and extremely competent. I still remember the first time I met her. I have never regretted my decision to make her my primary care physician. Anything Dr. Han says, I try to do. I trust her with my life.

I will come back and upgrade to a five star if my second visit is as good as the first one. Dr. Han is the first doctor in a long time whose office I walked out of feeling better than when I walked in. I only waited for a few minutes before I was called back to see her. The offices were spacious, clean, and neat and the receptionists friendly. Dr. Han listened patiently, repeated things I needed to hear again, gave guidance but also gave me hope I could follow the guidance. She was calm and didn’t talk down to me, and complimented me for taking good care of my skin. I saw her for a complaint that sometimes can be triggered by excess weight(I’m about 45 pounds heavier than I should be, having never lost the weight after having my child). Instead of saying«you really need to lose that weight– she said«even five pounds could make a difference.» and encouraged me to try to exercise as much as I could. She had a Quest phlebotomist in the office and took my blood, which is MUCH more convenient than having to go out to a lab to do it . Dr. Han called me the next day(!) herself to tell me the results and recommend a different specialist. Then, her nurse actually called to follow up. Finally, when I was frustrated trying to get a second set of blood test results read to me by the specialist she had referred me to, I had them faxed to her office, and her nurse read them back to me thirty minutes later. Doctor Han also told me I could sign up for«mychart», an awesome new online tool where you can *gasp* see your own test results!(Scandalous, that a patient can directly access her own records!) Anyway, I was very pleased with the service and attitude of both Dr. Han and her office, and I give a big thumbs up to the Inova system in general.
