I’m lucky to still have hair, I came to this place out of desperation one day because I’d neglected my hair for too long, didn’t want to be bound by appointments any place and felt adventurous one day. saw the 2 positive reviews here on Unilocal and gave it a shot. Never again. Not only was the cut really awful, the lady that did my hair continued to flat iron it so much before she trimmed it I could smell the burning. It was burning probably because nothing was applied to it, and even when the hair was straight, she must have just enjoyed flat ironing my hair because no one else was there to wait on next or torment. I wanted side bangs… this is only achieved with a ton of hairspray and bobby pins if the hair is not cut properly. Unless the look you desire afterwards is a sinead o connor don’t go here!

Found this salon when searching the area for places to get a pedicure, but it was still listed online as Azalea Salon and Spa. The great reviews led to me call for appointments which is when I learned of the name change. Was quoted $ 32 for manicure and pedicure, which seemed to be a great deal. Went in with a friend for a girls’ day and enjoyed having pedicures done at the same time(multiple chairs and nail technicians). Jessy did my nails(fingers and toes) and I would not necessarily recommend her. She was rough when shaving the skin on my big toe and left a stinging cut(and didn’t mention it the whole appointment). She also nicked two of my finger cuticles noting that I «must have sensitive skin.» Some massage and exfoliation with the pedicure, but none with the manicure — only shape and polish. My friend had Tammy and she took twice as long, but was very meticulous and my friends nails looked immaculate. I also noticed that she massaged feet and hands and used an assortment of exfoliants/lotions to make the experience relaxing. Tammy charged a little more($ 37 for both services) compared to Jessy($ 32 for both services), but I would go back to see Tammy in a heartbeat. For nails, request Tammy. Otherwise, a very clean, friendly and comfortable establishment.

Though this salon has been around for about 5 years, they recently changed their name from Azalea Salon/Spa to Tracey Salon & Spa. They are a full-service hair, nail, massage and waxing salon in the 7 Corners area. VERY clean, affordable and friendly, without the crowds and noise of many other affordable salons in the area(like Nails 4 You and the salons at Eden Center — ugh!) The staff is Vietnamese, but their English is better than that found at many other Viet-run salons in the area. I am so glad I found this place, and will definitely be returning! Prices are very modest and SO worth it: Manicure $ 12, Pedicure $ 22, Mani-Pedi $ 32, Women’s Shampoo Haircut & Style $ 25, Single-Process Color Add-on $ 35(on short hair), Eyebrow Wax $ 10, Lip Wax $ 6. If that’s not affordable I don’t know what is. My mom and I had our hair and nails done. Our thoughts: HAIR: Tammy cut and styled our hair and did a really great job despite little direction from either of us. She seems to understand a variety of hair textures and face shapes– neither of us are Vietnamese, but we both got flattering cuts. She will also be coloring my mom’s hair tomorrow so I’ll update on that. NAILS: Di(sp?) and Tracey did our nails; I got a manicure and polish change on my feet, while my mom got a full pedicure. They did an excellent job and really exceeded our expectations for the price. I noticed my toenails were a bit long and Di clipped at no extra charge with my toe polish change($ 10). My mom had never before gotten a pedicure, and her feet were ROUGH– but Di scrubbed and smoothed them so thouroughly with a pumice stone they turned out looking at least 10 years younger– no joke! I was in shock! She also took her time massaging our hands and feet which was nice. While they don’t have every color on the planet, they have a pretty decent selection of OPI, ORLY and China Glaze polishes. They autoclave(bake) their tools to sterilize them and their jetted foot baths and towels all looked very clean. Their massage chairs are nothing to write home about, but they’re fairly comfortable and roomy. The staff was very attentive and courteous. They had a modest stream of customers while we were there but it was only Friday morning so I can’t comment on how this place gets on busier days/times. Regardless, we’re happy to have discovered this place and they truly deserve more recognition. I hope this is helping to spread the word.
