Zizania has changed my life so much! I discovered I have food allergies and, before, I was poisoning my body. Now, I know what foods not to eat and I feel so much better. In addition, I have less joint pain and inflammation, and sleep much better now. What’s even better is I’m losing weight and eating much healthier!

I began working with Dominique after seeing the fantastic results my sister in law and her mother achieved with her guidance. I finally resolved after 10 years of steadily gaining weight (60 pounds!) that it was time to shed the pounds and develop a healthier lifestyle to model for my daughter. I started working with Dominique online (I live several hundred miles away!) three months ago and not only have I lost weight, I feel better and have more energy, and have really turned my eating habits around. She developed a personalized program for me taking into account my work, my background, my likes and dislikes, and my family. My home is now full of healthy, nutritious food that I know how to prepare in ways that fit my full time working mommy lifestyle and not to mention tastes delicious. I no longer live in fear that I will suffer from diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol and for the first time in many years feel like I am in control of my weight and my eating habits again. I am so pleased that I have had the opportunity to work with Dominique and am looking forward to many happy, healthy years ahead with my family.

Dominique is a wonderful nutritionist and educator! She is very knowledgeable and knows how to pass nutritional information on to her clients in an understandable and approachable way. Her recipes and techniques make dietary changes easy but also rally fun and delicious — I’ve gotten so many of my now favorite meals from her. I started seeing her for help with my Hashimotos Hypothyroidism. She has helped me diversify my diet while coaching me on positive foods that can assist me in achieving hormonal balance. She also points out what foods to stay away from, but I love that her focus is on what I can eat instead of what I cannot. My favorite part of Dominique’s approach is her emphasis on food for healing and on staying positive — she told me «Your body wants to heal itself» and this phrase has stayed with me while I work towards regaining my thyroid balance. Since working with her I’ve been able to cut down on my prescription meds and supplements. I highly recommend going to see her!

I have two young kids (now 6 & 8) plus work full time. Luckily I met up with Dominique in my quest to become healthier early in 2011. What I love about Dominique is she really personalizes the whole experience, she understands limitations, yet pushes you to learn and make better choices.
Because I love to cook, I found myself frequently grabbing «comfort» food. I didn’t want someone to give me a list of foods to eat (all of us trying to loose weight know we should eat more vegetables) I wanted someone to show me how to cook those vegetables in a variety of different ways, put them together and make a satisfying nutritious meal. I needed someone to help me make those vegetable exiting and show me alternatives to butter and heave creams.
Additionally I needed someone make me accountable for what I ate EVERY day, not just a weekly or monthly summary. Keeping a food journal is tough, Dominique made that simple.
What Dominique taught me is how to cook healthier and how healthy food can be flavorful and easy to make. My job required travel at least once a month, business dinners, and Friday morning pastries. She provided me with tools to make smart decisions in those situations. For example, while in Paris, I could eat my pain au chocolate, — but eat smart the rest of the day, and make sure I walked the streets to restaurants. Consequently, I went to Paris for week and didn’t gain a pound.
I lost 30 pounds, felt fantastic and my whole family benefits from my healthy cooking example. I have more to go and fall off the «horse» occasionally, but Dominique has been there to help me back in the saddle.
We still grill meats and bake lasagnas, we just have better sides to go with them. Now my kids can’t go four days without their fruit smoothies, and they ask for seconds of my kale soup.

Over two years ago, I came to Zizania exhausted and definitely malnourished. I have chronic Hepatitis C and find that I need specific foods rich in nutrients that can help my liver to function better. I was so fortunate to find Dominique in the local, Fairfax — Northern Virginia area who could work with me individually. She provided meal planning and fantastic, personalized recipes that helped my liver to work less and my body to absorb more of the nutrients that I was lacking. Also, she was with me every step of the way when I emailed her my food journals daily and she got back to me daily.
Another benefit, is the recipes are delicious and it doesn’t have to taste bad to be good! Wow, I never expected to enjoy this new way of eating. I also dropped some unneeded weight and have a lot more energy. I’m no longer exhausted in the afternoons thanks to the healthier eating. I’m not going to say diet because it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle of eating better. I encourage anyone with or without health issues to seek out this company to help boost your energy, memory, mental clarity and overall well being. Dominique knows how to please the palate! She creates savory and healthful options that everyone in your family will love. What I love about her recipes is that they are packed with flavor and are extremely satisfying. (My favorite is her killer smoothies!)
