My daughter brought me to The Bread Board and am so glad she did! I love bread! Their sourdough is comfort food in bread. I ordered the bread samplers and the sourdough was my favorite, all the breads were delicious. I also had the Greek salad and it was perfect, fresh greens and a wonderful Greek dressing, the seasonings and oil perfectly balanced. It was a nice pairing I had together and I made a «salad sandwich» with the sourdough bread, it was that delicious! The service was great from staff and owner who came to table to ask how we enjoyed our meal and bread. It is a great little place out in Falls City that we stopped at on our way back from the beautiful Oregon coast. I am definitely eating here again when I am traveling from the coast. Service perfect, food perfect, this place really hit the spot for me. Thank You!

Airlie sent us here on a Saturday! We got to try the pizza, a hummus appetizer and a bacon appetizer. If we come back to visit, this is a must stop! We loved the service, the food was Amazing! Driving through the tiny town we questioned where Airlie sent us but once we found the place and tried the food, we were so glad they did!

No regrets. Moved to the area 5 years ago. Read an article about 2 guys who came to Falls City from Sebastapol, CA. Built & opened a wood fired bakery then made pizza. We were hooked, ate here regularly. One size pizza, 4 or 5 ways or however you wanted. Thin crust. Wow! Pizza & salad locally sourced. Bacon chunks in maple syrup. Oh my, their drinking chocolate! Last one served January 11, 2015. Sad. Keiths bread and pastry still available! Garlic knot, cinnamon(wife makes the greatest french toast with it) and all the other artisan stuff. We brought everyone here and now they can only(sic) have great bread. The story continues, new chapter. Almost forgot the staff, no way. Always friendly. Thanks guys!

First time here. Cute décor. Ordered daily special of french onion soup and buttered bread. There was no cheese or croutons in the soup. Soup extremely hot, too hot to eat. Had to take it home. Soup way too sweet. Won’t order it again. Ordered pizza, as I heard it is a specialty. Took that home as well. I ordered pepperoni and got vege. Way too much spice and seasoning. I was disappointed.

We were meandering through the valley wine tasting. Two different wineries highly recommended The Bread Board. We had dinner there tonight and absolutely loved it! I wish they were in Corvallis!

Absolutely the best artisan breads I’ve ever tasted. My 8-y.o. daughter is already a sourdough aficionado, and she ranks The Bread Board’s «Country Sourdough» at the very top — and I would have to agree with her. The bread itself is surprisingly dense, not just full of a bunch of air like a lot of supermarket breads, with a rich, sour flavor that will have you cutting another slice right away. My personal favorite is the«Asiago Jalapeño» sourdough bread — the cheese adds an extra level of richness, and the little kick from the jalapenos is delightful. It’s also the perfect size to toast and top with caramelized onions. We are willing to drive 45 minutes out of our way to get this bread at the Salem Farmers Market — it is that good! And once the market closes for the season, we may be making runs to Falls City…

First time here and was very pleased. Wood fired pizza and awesome baked goods. I had a veggie pizza that was divine and the brownies might be the best I have ever had. I will definitely return!

Drove from south salem, just to try this joint. Have heard a lot of good things about this place from many people, so I tried. Tried half pepperoni and half Keith something like that number 3. It was actually really good, and The crust was like paper thin, which was good. The pizza was huge, but thin like cracker. It’s definitely different. The service was great as well. Most definitely worth the drive. Nice gem in falls city. Go try, you won’t be disappointed

When I lived in Salem I use to go here all the time come to and from Black Rock MTB park. It was cool to watch them build the place, open, and expand over time. To this day I have not had better artisian breads! Their pizzas, although expensive, are completely worth it and the experiance is well worth the drive out there. Keith and John are also super nice and I have never had a bad experience with any of their staff. Highly recommended!!!

Best pizza of our lives, it melts in your mouth. Worth the drive out to Fall City, be sure to check out the falls when you’re done. One pizza can feed four people, or two if your really hungry. Salads are also delicious, ingredients from local farms. Can’t wait to go again and try something new.

I’d move to Fallls City, Oregon for this bakery, and the enormously clean-cut good looks of this sweet small town! As we arrived, they were just pulling out loaves of this amazing, cheesy, rosemary-infused, slightly spicy bread that was divine! With a bowl of pumpkin soup, it was simply smashing. We also sampled scones, a brownie, and two excellent cappuccinos. Bravo! This Napa county family was delighted by our lunch! We’ll be back and send high recommendations to all of our Oregon friends!

This was my second visit to the Bread Board. On my first time out, I was pleasantly surprised to see a country take on an upscale chic pizzeria. This time, It looked like there have been even more eclectic décor improvements, with an immediate sense of slightly upscale country relaxation. We started out with an assortment of breads and«bacon candy.» I have to say, I am absolutely in love with the roasted garlic loaf(I haven’t found someone else who sells it for a long time!) But I wish they would put the balsamic on the side as a pour-on option, rather than drenching my bread in something that myself or my guest may not particularly enjoy, The bacon candy is quite delicious, and it has a good balance of heat and sweet! I wish there had been a small amount more acidity in there somehow as well, because the sweetness does overwhelm the palate a bit. For our last course, we did order what I believe is called«The fifth dimension.» Broken down, it’s a white pizza with a cheese based sauce, a layer of thinly sliced potatoes, a layer of cheese, and a «lemon juice drizzle.» I think this pizza would have been fantastic… IF they had left the lemon off. The acidity here was absolutely unnecessary and did nothing but create a funky taste that didn’t match the rest of the meal. Maybe they just overdid it on the lemon for our pizza, but I don’t think it was JUST ours. In fact, it didn’t seem overdone(it was just a light lemon taste), but rather just SHOULDNOTHAVEBEENDONE. The good stuff — Portions are fantastic, Price isn’t bad(although this specific pizza I would not pay for again at all.) The wait staff are friendly and courteous, and it’s a fun place for anyone to go eat dinner. My recommendation — Just stay the heck away from the pizza I ordered, and don’t order the bread unless you love balsamic,

The pizza was very good, and you have to try the“bacon candy” it’s to die for! Only problem was their beverage selection, if you’re not getting beer or wine your options are either root beer or a terrible soda water and fruit mix that is so tart and harsh you can’t drink it.

The location of the Bread Board is something of a mystery to some. .. but it makes sense, I suppose. I’m pretty sure John and Keith sell their artisan creations at a lot of regional markets and co ops. .. so there’s not as much a need of storefront in a popular location if you’re selling through other vendors. All that being said, as a resident of Falls City, I feel blessed that this amazing establishment exists in our small town. The pizza offerings are all quite lovely. Thin crust, quality locally sourced ingredients, and some of the best dough I’ve ever had. .. even on reheating the next day. That’s something you’ll likely be doing as these pizzas are very large. Unless there are four of you, you’ll definitely be bringing some back to reheat tomorrow morning for breakfast. Though the pizzas are great, the breads and other baked goods are where the Bread Board really shines. The sourdough miche(as other mentioned) is really something special. Prices are on par with quality bakeries in larger cities, and though it pains me to pay $ 7 for a large sourdough loaf, I only regret that until I get it home and use it to make sandwiches or just toast. I gave four stars out of five as I think they could do a bit more work on developing their beer selection. Not a single IPA on the list; however, as the storefront doesn’t seem to be the main way they butter they bread, I can’t complain too much. Can’t wait to go back!

We came here last summer and I’m just finally writing a review. It was a place in no where Oregon. I heard strange stories about this small town, Falls City; however, my coworker highly recommended it for its bread and pizza. I’d say, great place to come in the summer for lunch! When we first arrived to this place, I felt like I walked into a restaurant on Alberta or Mississippi in Portland. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. I have horrible allergies to Oregon’s beautiful summer, so we sat inside. We had their pepperoni pizza, which was delicious! They make their pizzas fresh right when you place your order. It’s cook in a brick oven! To top off our meal with a dessert, we got one of their cinnamon roll. It was huge enough to split between 2 – 3 people! It is absolutely the BEST cinnamon roll I’ve ever had! Although their pizza was really good, I’m hoping they expand their menu items. We will definitely return for more cinnamon rolls and to taste their many choices of favored bread.

Great pizza and great location. The wine selection is local and satisfying as well. I highly recommend the raisin swirl bread; I could live off it! They also serve cheese from fairview farms in Dallas, the best goat cheese ever.

I love this place! I’m not sure what it is doing in Falls City, but it is well worth the drive. If you plan on going on a Monday, call ahead, sometimes they run out of pizza…

If you are in the area it’s well worth the stop. Their wood fired pizzas are excellent. The menu changes weekly so you always have a reason to stop in for cheesy goodness. Their breads are equally good. One of our favorites is the garlic knot.

If you are out and about, I would recommend The Bread Board for a relaxing, enjoyable meal. Pricing is reasonable and the décor is tasteful and features local artists and the staff is friendly and helpful. My personal favorite treat is they orange cranberry scone with a breve.

If for some reason you ever venture out to Falls City, Oregon make a stop here! This is a friendly little bakery in a renovated building that makes their bread there on site. On a trip out to the Oregon coast, we made a pit stop here and sampled the blackberry galette, savory galette(best of the bunch), scone, and jalapeño bread. It was a bit of a surprise to find this place in such a small town, but good and if you are heading out to Black Rock for some mountain biking, a good pit stop.
