Amy photographed our family reunion in July, 2012. I live in California and hired her, sight unseen, to do our group portrait based on her website, phone conversations, and a few reviews on the internet. Considering the moving parts involved(family members coming together from 3 different states), our limited time in Cape Cod, our unfamiliarity with the area(we were all first timers), and the unpredictable Cape weather, it was a leap of faith! But given all the unknowns, the first right thing we did was to hire Amy. She was warm, friendly, and funny. She knew the area and best locations to shoot. She knew the climate and outdoor lighting. She was great working with people of all ages, from 5 to 72. She asked about special needs(a grandmother with Alzheimer’s). She was prepared! Our portraits were uniformly beautiful with that heavenly pink-golden glow that Amy knew only came at the exact moment of sunset. The one«hiccup» we did have, Amy handled quite ably and professionally. While a few of us were previewing the proofs in her studio(which she projected nicely on the wall for us), one family member became upset about how she appeared in the photos and in an outburst, blamed Amy for this. I told this family member, No one is looking at your _(insert body part)_ !(But now we are, since you called attention to it…). Amy was surprised, but she remained professional and was able to come up with a solution that satisfied the family member. Let’s just say Amy is GOOD with photoshop! No problems with the framing and shipping of portraits, and our complimentary photo CD included raw images as well as the photoshopped ones. Overall, it was a fantastic experience working with Amy, and we feel so lucky that we found her!
