Scuba Guru

Decided to start my scuba certification process prior to doing some open water dives out of the country. Scuba Guru helped me complete my confined water dives and academic testing. I had a great instructor who was able to really pay attention to each student and help us learn the real world application of what we read in the study material. The class size of 4:1 was amazing! I can’t think of a single complaint and would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to get certified to sign up with Scuba Guru.

I always wanted to learn how to scuba dive but procrastinated for many years. I checked around various places bit it seemed like cookie cutter programs for the masses then I called scuba guru then received the one on one attention I was looking for. I just completed my open water certification and exceeded my expectations I am taking more advanced classes with scuba guru because my confidence level has given me the impetus to reach goals that I never imagined if you are looking to really learn the sport of scuba diving, Scuba Guru is definitely the answer.

You’re searching for scuba schools in the nyc/​nj area and calling every single one of them hoping someone will say something to separate themselves because after all, you want the best and you certainly want your money’s worth. Well guess what, they all charge the same, have the same boring schedules and the person answering the phone usually isn’t the person who trains you. Do yourself a favor and JUST CALL SCUBA GURU!!! It truly was the best experience. I knew from the second Mike called me back, I would go with him. My wife and I completed our open water certification less than a month ago and it was the best decision to use this school. We had personal attention, our instructor was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and best of all, very accommodating with our schedules. You don’t feel like another number with Scuba Guru. He genuinely wants you to be prepared for anything while enjoying your dives. My wife and I will be taking more classes with Scuba Guru to get our advanced diver certification.

I always had a curiosity for the underwater world, did some snorkeling but wanted to take it one step further by scuba diving. I knew this was more involved than snorkeling so I decided to research various scuba diving instruction establishments and didn’t quite feell comfortable with the various dive shops I called. Finally, I contacted Scuba Guru and knew it was the right fit with their small private to semi-​private classes. I took the PADI Open Water course and received the quality attention I was looking for. I plan on taking more scuba diving classes with Scuba Guru. I highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I recently completed our academic and confined water dives with Scuba Guru for our Open Water Certification. We were on a time crunch because we wanted to have the first half our the certification completed before leaving on vacation the last week of August. Not only was Scubaguru the only dive center who could accommodate our schedules, but they have the best set up when teaching their classes, which have a 1:4 instructor to student ratio. They were great in following up and ordering our gear so it would be delivered on time.
Both the water and confined water classes were very hands on and allowed for personalized one-​on-​one feedback. When reviewing the academics portion, the instructor made sure to clarify any topics or questions that a student did not understand. Their method and modules of combining all of the confined water dives along with the academics into one day is brilliant and very effective.
Prior to this class I did not have an interest in pursuing any other certification besides my Open Water. After this experience, I cannot wait to continue my certifications and continue to build my scuba diving skills with Scubaguru!
