Express Yourself Salon

I went in today to get a color service and a haircut, the receptionists were friendly and made me feel like a movie star. My stylist Stephanie was very meticulous and professional, she went above and beyond anything I expected, her work was awesome, so much that my friends all agreed it’s the best haircut I’ve ever gotten from anyone/​anywhere. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ recommend Express Yourself for anyone seeking the best.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I have lots of friends in the area that have tried this salon and they all say the same. Stylists are sweet but are obviously outdated! Laura (the owner) has yelled at her employees in front of clients and makes everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. UNPROFESSIONAL! Salon is geared toward an older clientele.

I came to this salon for a cut and color correction. I was immediately welcomed by the owner, Laura. Audra was my stylist, she is super friendly and clearly very good at her job. I left feeling confident, and beautiful. Even my boyfriend commented on how good my hair looks. That’s a winner in my book! My only regret, is that I wish I found this place sooner.
By the way, try the cappuccino… it’s delicious!

I fell in this salon last year and found the handling of the incident to be unprofessional, and perhaps unethical. The nail person said she was sure my injuries were only sprains of my ankle and wrist and insisted on doing the scheduled pedicure after putting ice on them. There appeared to be no management on site. I barely could walk to my car and drove straight to a nearby urgent care center where I learned I had broken my wrist (which required surgery), sprained my ankle, and broken a bone in my foot. When my health insurer and I contacted the salon to make claims for our out-​of-​pocket expenses, we received no response from the salon owner. The responses to my insurer’s phone calls to speak with the manager were always «she isn’t here.» Is it possible this salon is not insured and that is the reason for no response to our request for the name of the salon’s insurer?

Loved my haircut and organic color. Audra (a real pro) did my color and cut herself. She listened and took time to understand the way my hair has a mind or waves of its own and she worked that into that into the cut and shape. That is what i call a pro and she was really down to earth.
Prices were as you expect for a good cut and organic color. Loved that fact that I can swing by quickly.
I will have to update this again when the hair grows out. But I will be back when I save up for the next splurge.

I had a hair extension experience go bad at a salon in Hoboken. I called Express Yourself and they immediately put me in touch with their in-​house specialist, Zoey. She immediately returned my calls (there were several) and took me the same day. She had some extensions on hand that matched my color and immediately went to work. She ordered more and I will be returning in a day so she can complete the job.
This salon is not convenient to where I live but I’m so glad I made the trip to gain peace of mind.

Salon is lovely and laura is five stars everytime. Best Haircut in the area… includes NYC.
