I like this place but can not describe … there are so many nice garden in NJ. This one is more woodland. . Under stated, many unusual plants, their plant sale in May is the best. 5.2.2016 update, visited again. Wonderful. See pics.

What a great place to just wander and getting lost with nature. Love the gazebo to sit and relax. Check out all the frogs at the pond across. Trails are easy and very well kept. Will be coming back for sure!

Even in November this garden offered some very lovely sights. No doubt things are better in the spring and summer, and we hope to back then. Very serene place, alas the noise(and sometimes smells) from nearby rt. 287 is quite terrible. I read they had to fight to keep the highway from routing through the gardens so we can be grateful for that much. Should also add that a bridge adjacent to the property was under construction and this added to the overall din. Next time maybe some noise-canceling earphones will help? Overall, despite the intrusive highway, a really beautiful garden(donations are suggested) that has lots of eye candy for nature lovers of all stripes. Small enough that a reasonably healthy adult can manage walking all the assorted paths.

This secluded 33-acre Somerset County park in Far Hills boro, just off Liberty Corner Road not far from Route 202, offers visitors alpine and woodland gardens situated in a rocky, narrow gorge surrounded by glacial ponds and massive rocky outcroppings. The garden is named after Mr. Leonard J. Buck, who developed the property with the assistance of Mr. Zenon Schreiber, a well-known landscape architect, to be a naturalistic garden that would be ecologically correct and not recognizable as being man-made. Tucked among the rocks are rare and exotic rock garden plants; the wooded trails and well-groomed paths meander amid rock outcroppings and serene pools, and beautiful wildflowers. Come spring, during the peak bloom, this is a terrific place for meditation amongst the white-noise created by the nearby I-287 interstate highway.
