Compare Foods

I visit Compare Foods in an emergency because it’s the only grocery store in my neighborhood open late however Key Food is a couple of blocks away. I only go there for specific items-​I feel that you can find better prices elsewhere; to their credit the grocery store is neatly stocked and clean they finally got one or two cashiers that actually acknowledge you, greet you or even smile with you! YAY! Some of the cashiers (Latin looking) have attitudes which make their pretty faces look so ugly but I guess customer service is not big on their list since they get an influx of people in the neighborhood who cannot go anywhere else. Since I drive I have more options. Overall it depends on your needs and convenience.

I agree with Hope G., it’s OK as a local neighborhood grocery goes. It’s not exactly near me, but they carry a lot of different cultured recipe ingredients. The best time to go there is early when they open. It’s usually mostly crowded & parking lot is frequently crowded

No issues here. It is what it is, a local grocery. If your looking for a ritzy grocery store, go somewhere else. The fruit and veggie prices vary and the meats can be as well. They do have good sales from time to time and items are normally in stock. The parking lot can get full but that’s not their problem they share with several other stores in that complex.

ETA: Why are they not located on the Compare Foods website? They are not listed in the LOCATIONS section or the circular/​sales section. What’s up with that? They need to fix this.
Compare Foods is mediocre when it comes to cost of a lot of their products that they sell. The pros is that they have a great selection of meats and a butcher to cut it up if you need. The meats are at good prices and the area is clean. They have a good selection of fruits and vegetables as well. They also have a great selection of products from the islands. Otherwise, I found the store to be a little more overpriced compared to say Key Food that is a few blocks away. I only go here mainly for their meat and produce. Otherwise I go to Key Food. Another thing I noticed is that when they restock the milk, they put the new milk in front of the old milk. That’s not good.
A big plus+++ They now serve cooked spanish food in the back by the deli. This is great for that area because there are no spanish places unless you go 3 – 4 blocks up (that I’m aware of). And the food is pretty good too. So I just added a star for that.
