At 3 bucks a slice, I am less than impressed. The crust is dry and a bit on the hard side. That’s probably my biggest complaint. The cheese and sauce were good, but the crust just wasn’t very good. I also couldn’t tell if they only offered cheese slices, or if it’s one of those spots where they fire up a bunch of cheese pies, and then just plop toppings on top of the already made pizza if you order toppings. The service was good… fast and friendly. With all the good food in this little area, I’d have to really be craving pizza badly to choose this over the other food spots.

«Donkey Punch Pizza is the newest addition to the boardwalk. The following is taken from „I’m from Oklahoma, but I was actually born in Queens,“ said Jeremy Spector creator of the unconventionally named and tasting pizza. If that name sounds familiar it’s because Spector is the chef-owner of the Brindle Room in the East Village. „My father can’t get his head around the fact that I’m making pizza where Playland used to be.“ I know it’s very unorthodox for this part of the country,» Spector said of the white sauce. «I don’t take things too seriously.» One thing the novice pizza maker takes seriously though is the dough whose unusual flavor and crunchiness can be attributed to the double-zero malted flour and a three-day fermentation.“ Okay here is my take. The owner is just having fun. I don’t want to spoil his fun but the pizza isn’t really good at all. The crust was hard and burned and the cheese had been sitting out not refrigerated. The servers were some of the most friendly on the board walk for that they get 3 stars. I am also giving it 3 stars so they can iron out the kinks and improve. But for the pizza itself I guess he just had the idea since nobody else opened a pizza place on the board walk. But for me hard crust and old cheese just doesn’t do it! As for not taking things too seriously. It shows!
