I personally like this restaurant better then the steak joints ive been in the area, however saying this i haven’t been to all the places yet but out of my last three experiences here I have to say i beat the ones i’ve had closest to 13th St. Waiting: Our waiter was super nice every time and very attentive. I’ve been there three times and each time i didn’t have to wait long to be seated, The waiters gave great recommendations along with there personal recommendations as well as drink recommendations to myself and my friends who are not great at picking out beverages. Food: Every time ive ordered something here whether it was steak, chicken, or pork etc. I have had it cooked exactly how i would like it. I prefer steak here because i know they wont burn or char or under cook it. The selection is very wide in terms of types of dishes although Steak and pork tend to be my favorites. The drink selection is across the board which is great. Aesthetics: This place comes off rustic although perhaps not all purposeful it does seem like at one point it used to be bustling but lately has slowed which i find unbelievable as I love this place, If me and my girlfriend cannot pick a place we come here because we both like it and have had good experiences every time. I STRONGLY recommend this place.

Went here for a date night. Not as busy as I expected which is fine with me. Our server Tanya was very enthusiastic and polite. I ordered the porterhouse with mash potatoes which are made from scratch and the four cheese Mac, amazing… Hit the spot for sure. Also had started out with the potato skins which I love but most places have to much potato left on them but not these. I will go here again!

Service Our server was very polite and attentive. We were seated right away and our server was there quickly to get us started on beverages. Food It’s been a while since we’d eaten there, but we were served very fresh rolls served with what I think was a honey/cinnamon butter. The kids really liked these and kept everyone satisfied until the mail meal arrived. My wife and I each started with a wedge salad. These were awesome. Blue cheese dressing with blue cheese crumbles. We then had a «Texas Rose» for an appetizer. While it had great flavor but it was very oily so we left most of it. We each had a sirloin. They asked us to cut into them right away to make sure they were cooked the way we liked them. Medium for me. They were cooked to our specifications but were unremarkable. The seasoning was quite peppery. It had good flavor but much of it was dry. I had a sweet potato with butter and cinnamon and sugar that was good. One of my boys had a burger and steak fries. The fries were great. I found myself stealing his and wishing I’d gotten fries instead of the sweet potato. Atmosphere The atmosphere has gone downhill since the last time we’d visited a few years ago. Only about half of the tables were full at 6:30. Honestly we went there because we wanted steak and our usual place had a 45 – 60 minute wait. Back in the day this place was hoppin’. There was always a wait. You were served whole peanuts and threw the shells on the floor and they would crank up the music and the staff would line dance. Today it looks like it hasn’t been updated in some time and with it looking mostly empty on a night where other places in the same style of food had a one hour wait… it’s not a good sign.

I would not recommend this place. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes the bartender(guy) didn’t acknowledge us. There were no more than 10 people in the bar at 6:45 on a Saturday night. Food was just OK. Our salad plates were warm enough to wilt the lettuce. The appetizer plate were delivered to our table with food stains on them. The only positive is our waitress during our meal in the restaurant was pleasant. Overall skip Lone Star in Fargo because the service is poor, there are better options.

What can I say? Took 5 minutes to seat me in a clearly vacant restaurant. Took another 10 minutes to ask for my drink and another 15 to see if I was ready to order. Took forever to get the food to me and the service wasn’t that great even tho they clearly had tons of ppl working. Food was average at best. Probably not going again.

Our family of eight visited this establishment on a Friday. We thought that because it was Friday any restaurant in town would be able to accommodate or r space and staff needs. I should have left when were seated right away with eight people on a Friday night but I didn’t. They started off by asking for our drink order which then took twenty minutes to come out and they had no idea who ordered what. Disorganization seemed to be the theme of the night. They took our order when the drinks came out. Ten minutes after the drinks came our complimentary bread FINALLY showed up. Almost instantly after the bread our salads/soups came. Before we could finish our salads/soups our meals showed up. When I say they showed up I use that term very loosely. It was a fifteen minute of production where they once again couldn’t figure out who ordered what and some orders were missing items. When you needed the waiter to come by the table or bring something it took forever and some ordered steaks that were cooked far from the fashion they were ordered.

Stopped here to try as I have not been here before. Walked in at 9:15pm and something seemed off as there was 2 tables and an obvious regular at the bar. We thought about going to the next place at that point and then the hostess walked up so we were kind of committed at that point. She tried to sit us in a booth that was ripped up. I just walked to a different one. We got our drinks and they were good. Tap Coors light and a sweet tea. The tea was great. The server came to take our order and he was a little off but that’s ok. I ordered some potato skins as an appetizer and then we places our order. when they came out we had to gnaw on them so needless to say we didn’t finish them. Nobody ever came around until the meals came. I saw my colorless steak and I was like wow. Really? He had me cut into it to see if it was cooked right. It was a very done steak considering I ordered medium rare. I just told him it would do as I did not want to risk sending it back as we were only 1 of two tables now. The steak was only flavored with ground pepper. It was very dry and bland. I had to ask someone else for A1 as our server never came back for about 20 mins asking if we wanted desert. That answer was no as I handed him my card. I was glad to pay just to get out as I felt very dirty having sat in their booths. I have posted a picture of the steak and a picture of the booth they tried to sit us in. Needless to say I will spread the word about my experience. Not once did anyone else really come around as they were all huddled together in the back of the restaurant. As we left we noticed that Longhorn basically next door. Their parking lot was full. I don’t recommend this place at this time and now with another steak house opening in Fargo plus two others, I am safely betting that Lone Star will fade into the night very quickly.

Always a go to of mine food is always good and cooked to order and the service is always good. I don’t quite know if the negitive reviews are just rare instances or what but I have always had good experiences.

Went last night for dinner. We walked in and the manager was being confronted by an angry customer, so we should have taken it as a sign. The front desk person seated us, and asked for our drink orders. Which we thought was strange, since he had no idea what they even offer for beverages. He passed our drink orders along to our waiter, who rolled his eyes when we corrected him. This guy was probably one of THEWORST waiters I have ever experienced in my life. He was rude, absent, and completely awkward. I understand that he might be a new guy, and give him a break– but these people work for tips and he didn’t gaf. He was not friendly whatsoever. If you want my opinion, which I’m sure you do since you are reading this, if you get Tim as your waiter, ask for another.

First and second steaks both over cooked. By the time second steak arrived wife was done with her meal so I was stuck eating an overcooked steak and cold potato and I couldn’t even eat the sautéed onions I paid extra for. $ 50 for worst meal ever. We will never go back.

I dined at Lone Star for the first time the other day. When I first arrived I noticed the exterior did not apear to be in very good shape. Once I got inside I was even more disappointed. It had such a dead atmosphere with all sorts of tacky western décor. The employee seating us was not very friendly at all. Once we were seated our waitor was very professional and polite. I have to say I was not expecting that from this place from what I had already experienced. The menu had a good variety of various meats served in all sorts of ways. I ordered baby back ribs with a ceaser salad and garlic potatoes. They did take their time preparing the food. The food was better than I expected actually. It had definite flavor and the ribs were very tendor. The ceaser salad was a bit soggy though but the potatoes were good. The food though was a bit spendy. I could understand the prices if maybe the restraunt had better upkeep and theming but clearly that wasnt a priority for the folks at lone star. In conclusion Id say there was some definite things this restraunt needs to improve but there are a few things they do right, such as good food and professionalism. What they need to improve is better exterior upkeep, a better themed interior and fairer prices.

I should’ve taken a hung by the empty parking lot and quick seating. I am generally a fun of these, but this one was just awful. Every item I had seemed day old… The Soda: Flat The Caesar Salad: Limb, soggy lettuce The NY Strip: Odd color, chewy and flavorless… But it was cooked to right temp. I won’t make this mistake again… You shouldn’t either.

I’m giving this place 2 stars because the food is good, however, the service is not. There were only 2 other tables in there at the same time and our server was terrible. There were 5 at our table, ordered 2 waters, 2 pops, and one drink from the bar. The single bartender with NO patrons at the rail took entirely too long! We ordered an appetizer, asked her to come right back so we could get our food order in and she didn’t come back until our app was almost gone that someone else had ran out for her. My husband and I had a similar experience with a friend on New Year’s Eve as well. Even got sat in the same booth! All in all, I’m not very picky, I’m patient with servers, and I will never eat here again unless its takeout.

Okay maybe 1.5 stars but even that is being generous. I stopped by here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The empty parking lot should have been a clue. Staff seemed lost as if they did not even know how to seat people. I was seated at a table that had not even been wiped down. The waitress did notice and wiped it down for me. I ordered a porterhouse with Texas rice and steamed broccoli. I ordered the steak medium. When the food was delivered, the steak had areas that went from rare to well and actually tasted as if it had been cooked earlier and just heated up. The broccoli was cold again as if it had been sitting out for hours. Rice had heat lamp warmth to it but nothing else. For a meal that cost over $ 30 with beverage I should have gotten a better quality steak and it should have been fresh. Pass on this place. No wonder most their locations around the country have closed.

This was my first time at Lonestar and I enjoyed my visit. I tried the new cajun ribeye steak with a baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli. I ordered my steak medium well but it came out a little closer to well done. I found it nice that they have you check the meat to ensure it is done to your liking. The sides were excellent! You can’t get a baked sweet potato many places so it is always a treat.

Country music, steaks, good chilis and a beautiful gf by my side. Life is good. I absolutely love this joint. I enjoy the foods, I love the sides and the soups. Apparently its also close pretty late. It should be next hang out place for sure. Friendly service, lots of dead animals on the wall. Oh yeah!!!

Steaks are always juicy, cooked to temp, and never require sauce. Salads are chilled, crisp, and refreshing. The soups are good but about average for a chain. The grilled shrimp is my favorite in Fargo. App menu is nothing special with its blooming onion, wings, potato skins, etc. Fries are excellent. Not too spendy for a steakhouse, however most of the servers seem to be inexperienced. I don’t like it when a girl younger than me(or anyone at that!) calls me «sweetheart». Service is attentive which does count for something I suppose. The bar is large and kind of neat, but doesn’t see much action. TV’s are silent, small, and outdated. Lonestar’s back room is good for groups. It’s completely closed off, and has a tv/dvd.
