What started out as a wonderful and exciting experience was abruptly and sadly ruined by two employees who should not be working with the public, especially with children. Shame of them for treating us the way they did. My 3 year old spent his train ride in tears and couldn’t wait to leave to get away from those«angry men» on the train. I tried to smooth the waters in an effort to end on a positive note but was told it was closing time and that they wanted to go home.

This«railroad» is part of the Allaire State Park. The railroad is a steam train that has a few carts(2 indoor carts and 1 outdoor cart). It goes around a track within the park for about 12 minutes or so. The fee is $ 5 per person. Though the ride is short, $ 5 isn’t much, especially if you have children that get excited at all the sounds(horns, bells and whistles) associated with the railway. I think that if you are in the park/historic village, it is worth a ride. There is also a gift shop where you buy the tickets that sell things such as conductor hats and model trains.
