I really love this place but its kinda annoying that you have to cook your stuff in a boiling water. The serving staff has been super nice every time i’ve gone and their cheese fondue and milk chocolate fondues are sooooo good!!! Ive tried their spinach artichoke cheese fondue and their yin yang fondue which are both very delicious

Was the first time at the melting pot after hearing a lot of talk about it from many different friends. I can see why everyone loves it, totally cool experience and the food was good. But in my opinion… good food doesn’t necessarily make a good restaurant. It’s the service that really makes the experience of going out to dinner enjoyable. I will definitely be back. not because of the food, but because of the service that I received tonight. Evan was an absolute sweetheart! Being a server myself I know what it takes to go above and beyond and lemme tell you this kid was something special! I hope management sees how blessed they are to have such a great worker like him. Give that boy a raise!!!

The food and chocolate is always a great experience. However this location made it not that great. My girlfriend and I got seated in a nice corner booth and then our waiter came and told us the burners were not working and moved is to a smaller booth. After we moved, another couple was placed where we originally sat and the burners suddenly worked. But I digress, our waiter brought us our dessert and then our check. Didn’t even ask if we wanted any other items. Seemed like they wanted us out of there. Usually you ask for the check not just have it given to you without confirming you are done. This was terrible experience where my girlfriend and I felt like we weren’t welcome there. Luckily other locations like Warrington and Philadelphia are awesome. Farmingdale get you stuff together.

What the hell did I just pay 95 $ for? A rock lobster, 10 shrimps, and a plate consisting of 5 mushrooms, 4 artichoke pieces, some shredded carrots, and literally 4 pieces of asparagus. Not to mention the 4oz of tofu. I really have no idea why this was so much money. Rent? Wages??? Honestly, the service was good and everyone was nice and attentive, but what the hell man. I am not sure how this pigeon food can be considered a meal. It’s not like they cooked it for me. Wait, there’s more. The coup de grâce of a Chocolate Fondue. It was basically half a melted chocolate bar, with a few fruit pieces and what would equate to one brownie. All of this would be fine, if not for the 2 person charge of 20 $ for the dessert. I can only imagine if I ordered a beer, another wine, a fancier dessert. I eat out a lot and am fine spending money on food, but this was ridiculous. I paid over 100 $, with tip, for the most minimalistic meal I have ever eaten at a restaurant, and I had to cook it myself! This meal should not have been more than 60 – 70 $ and it is not worth trying. It’s almost upscale, but there are too many hints of TGIFridays, or Chili’s. I am baffled by all of this. Maybe it was all organic, but I doubt it. Get it in the $$ range, and you’re golden all day long. I guarantee 4 star reviews.

I think this might be one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. The cheese was ok. Bread was terrible. The small salad was honestly the best part. The portions are small, food sucks, tuna is extremely fishy meaning it had probably been sitting out all day. I don’t know what our waiters name was but he was a young black guy and he was probably one of the worst waiters I’ve ever had. Considering we’d never been there and had no idea what it was about and told him, he had no personality and he barely explained anything. He also kept trying to push the 4 course on us after we told him no like 4 times. I probably left skid marks leaving that place it was so terrible. Atleast the bartender knew what he was doing.

I really can’t think of anything bad to say about my experience here! LOCATION: easy to find, near the new place Refuge and the gentlemens club, Gossip. DECOR: pretty casual décor, alot of wood walls and tables. I thought it would be more of a dressy place but not so much. FOOD: we had a group of about 11 people and we all dod the 4 course combo option. The portions are small, but when you do the 4 course you end up getting alotttt of food! Haha we were all full by the entrée’ and then we still had the dessert coming after. The food was all very good, especially the S’Mores fondue dessert. Cocktails were about $ 9 each but very delicious, alot of fun mixtures. SERVICE: Our waiter was very nice guy. Efficient and super friendly, can’t remember his name but he was a younger guy. I really received great service with Christina when I called to make a reservation and she was extremely helpful. She worked with me to figure out the best seating option for my group. I also mentioned it was someones birthday in my group but I wasn’t expecting anything. But when we got there they had left a birthday card on the table with a $ 10 off coupon and also brought out a little dessert with a candle during dessert for the birthday person. Very nice of them and I was very surprised they did that without me having to ask or anything.

I came here for a 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend. Grace was our server and she was an absolute sweetheart and extremely attentive. She did an amazing job. She went above and beyond to make our evening special. The food was excellent! They went above and beyond to make our anniversary special… chocolate strawberries as a gift to take home and a plate that said happy anniversary in icing. It was super nice of them to take the time to do for us. Great time! We will be back :)

This place is cute my review is for my server Angela. She was kind but not attentive at all to our table. The place is not packed at all and she came to Check on our table one time. She gave us the check before asking if we wanted anything else. We came in for dessert only and made us feel as if we had to beg for another plate of goodies.

The Melting Pot serves as a haven for today’s extroverted blimp. Not only can one indulge senselessly, but he can take on a creative role in holding metallic sticks and roasting his steaks over a warm crock of cholesterol. The hostess sat me in a small booth. My boisterous belly fat was so overpowering, it literally bent the table inwards every moment I exhaled… so they moved me to a table for ten. I sat alone twiddling my thumbs, anxiously awaiting feed. Tray after tray was brought over; the first containing a jambalaya of cheeses and breads. The smell was so indulgent, I couldn’t control my juvenile excitement. I smacked away the bread basket, picked up the smoldering, hot metal bowl of cheese and drank it with the idiotic strength of Dog the Bounty hunter. Onlookers had to shield their children’s eyes. Next was a plate fulla animals; chicken, steaks, shrimps and a handsome stump of corn. I grew too impatient trying to roast these angelic treats over the crock, so I swallowed everything raw; the battery acids in my bottomless pit already contain extremely high levels of toxicity. They would literally slaughter rubella and salmonella like Syrian refugees on impact. The conclusion to all of this was a large brownie/blondie finale with ice cream, molten peanut butter, chocolate infused syrups. I heartlessly murdered those sugary snacks like John Benet Ramsey and I’ll strike again… beware.

We were really excited to go here… fondue is so retro! Alas, we were disappointed. The service was good and the high booths provided an intimate and private aura. Unfortunately, poor ventalation equated to a «retro» lingering odor in the air. Most importantly, the food disappointed, especially for the price. Something about cooking all proteins in one pot of liquid is certainly not kosher. We had steak, chicken and seafood. Since all of these have different cooking times, it inevitably results in some proteins overcooking and paranoia about whether other proteins are cooked enough to to be safe to eat. I love self cook restaurants(usually on a grill) but when everything is swimming in one pot of liquid, it makes for an unsanitary petri dish of potential bacteria. The broth wasn’t too tasty either. On the bright side, the cheese and chocolate fondues were yummy but I can melt cheese in the microwave and make s’mores in the backyard for a lot less. Pass.

My experience at the melting pot was something else. The taste quality of the dips you get are really good. So when it comes to the Cheese and Chocolate fondue its out of this world. Looking at the list alone of all the different types of Cheese and Chocolate fondue you can do is overwhelming but never the less, delicious. However the fact cooking your main course which is raw meat in broth is where the buzz kill comes in… You sit and poke at raw meat with this fondue fork and then rest the fork in the cooking broth. The part that can be a bother is that you now have to wait for this meat to cook throughout properly. It honestly got to a point where my date and I just both threw in our raw meat all together and ended up just cooking it like you would almost in a stew. Problem with that was, I ordered a Cajun seasoning on my raw meat, Where she doesn’t like spicy food much. yet all my Cajun ended up spreading around in the broth(I do understand that’s my own fault). But how is that even avoidable? If someone doesn’t like spicy, but the other person does… the broth will still be contaminated with Cajun seasoning. So take this as a **warning** If going with a date or party who doesn’t like spicy, you may want to be considerate and pick a different type of seasoning. After getting some heat from both the broth and my date we moved onto the chocolate fondue. Basically the experience is like a Roller coaster. It starts off good, then its a buzzkill, then its good again. The waiter I had was fine, The food quality was fine.(being I cooked half of it). I can’t say i’m «in love» with the place. Would I personally go back? Yeah probably. Its an experience. However I don’t think I’d get a main course… I’d go for drinks and maybe just the Cheese and chocolate fondue. Was I completely thrilled? Meh.

I had such a bad experience there yesterday that I want to just write: «don’t even bother» and that be the review, end if story. That would not be me though so here it goes: We arrive at 716(our reserve is 715) We are told to wait for a few minutes by a hostess who looks like she had a fight with her boyfriend before work so she is just not feeling like being at work. We wait 10 minutes and finally get seated. We are the very first seated in this empty room in the back at that time. The seats at our huge round table booth have cuts with tape patches here and there. They are so low, that Only my shoulders and top of my chest are at table level– I decide to deal with it but I am not comfortable at all. How do I breach this part without sounding like a jerk… Our waitress was a sugar sweet jerk. I watched others get seated, get drinks served and start the cheese course at their tables with what looked like really good servers, when our server finally brought our melted ice drinks. I was irritated by this point. My husbands drink tasted like water. The waitress, FINALLY brings out the first course. First course was interesting I liked it. Before she left my husband told her there was no alcohol in his watery cocktail and he would like a corona instead. «she said hmmm thats funny, the manager made yours I will have to ask him if thats true-im sorry» she leaves and never comes back. Never brings a beer. Eventually we asked the very attentive server from the table next to us to please remind our waitress to bring a corona, and we have been done with the cheese course for approx ten minutes by then. He finally ends up bringing a corona. When she finally comes with the weird salads I ask her to please bring out the entrée sooner than later because there is way to much time going by and all the other tables in our room(who arrived after we did) ARE on desert now. Did i mention that dishes and the unwanted cocktail sat strewn all over and never removed? yup. That also happened here. By now she is aware we are getting upset finally because we told her nicely that this was way to slow. After this, things started moving along– but I could tell she hated us. Manners stopped all together– it was just the basics in a fake smile, I hate you but have to be nice, kind of way. I was so disappointed between barely being able to reach my fondue over the high table, the super nice fake rude slow waitress, the waiting, the watered down drinks… even the food, which was not bad but was what seemed like kind of low quality ingredients. I was so sad. It is only a side thought that I learned today, I really dislike cooking raw smelling meat and waiting piece by piece to eat it– but that would have just make this a fun experience had all the other stuff not been so bad. This dinner that came to over a hundred dollars felt like we just threw money into the wind. I have never felt more unwelcome and ignored anywhere before. This has to be one of my top five worst experiences in a restaurant in my life. I wish I could hit rewind.

Omg!!! This place was absolutely amazing!!! The ambiance, the food! Our server!!! Her name is «Sarah» she was sweet as a peach! It was her first day on the floor and you would have thought she owned the joint. She knew the menu like the back of her hand! Everything she recommended was fabulous. My first experience here and she made it the best one! Ok she helped us with the cheese fondue which have to say was full of cheesy goodness! And I tried cheesy apples, yum!!! Next was the salad… the ceaser is a must try they put some sweet nuts in it!!! Definitely the bomb!!! I tried 6 meats in the bullion broth chicken, shrimps, tuna, salmon, teriyaki steak, angus steak. All recommended by «Sarah»!!! Did I mention she was the best!!! Well all the meats were tasty and I will do again but Sarah has to be my server She rocks!!! I was so full I couldn’t make it to desert but I’ll be back

I came for restaurant week. I made a late rsvp for 10:15p. We arrived and it was still pretty busy. We waited a few minutes to be seated. It didn’t t take very long. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by our server Jen. She gave us menus and asked if we’d been there before. I had, but my BF hasn’t. I let her proceed as if we hadn’t been there. After a few minutes, we compared the regular menu vs the restaurant wk menu. We were getting more for our money with the restaurant wk menu. So we went with that. For my pre-fixe, I started out with the fiesta cheese fondue. It has cheddar cheese blend with lager beer, jalapeño peppers and salsa, and they leave you the jalapeños so you can make it as spicy as you want. There were carrots, broccoli and apples and french bread for dippers. For my second course, i had«The Nassau». It has teriyaki-marinated sirloin, white shrimp, potsickers and buffalo chicken. Lastly, i had the chocolate s’mores. It’s milk chocolate with marshmallow cream, flambéed and topped with bits of crackers. For dippers, there were brownies, blondies, pineapples, poundcake, marshmallows, strawberries and rice crispies treats. So. Good! My BF’s pre fixe, he started out with the classic alpine which had aged gruyère, raclette and fontina cheeses blended with white wine, fresh garlic and finished with a dash if nutmeg. Second course was the«Suffolk». He had sirloin, chicken, shrimp and mushroom dumplings. He had 3 dipping sauces. A teriyaki, indian curry and a sweet and sour. It was really great. We had brocoli and mushrooms to throw in as well. For dessert, he got the dark &dulce. It had dark chocolate and sweet, thick dulce de leche accented with coarse ground sea salt. We also had 2 glasses or red wine. The evening was perfect. We weren’t rushed, and the dippers are unlimited. I will be coming back this week with my girls this time. So excited!

It’s difficult to figure out where to begin with this review — it’s exactly how you are going to feel when you try to decipher the menu. There are endless combinations of different ways to dip a bunch of bite size foods into various types of liquids and sauces. They have a four course menu which has pre-configured combinations of cheese fondue, salad, main course fondue and chocolate fondue. It’s a lot of fondue. I didn’t like the main course fondue where they place various raw meats, seafood and chicken in front of you and you have to cook it yourself in pots of bouillon or other liquids of your choice. My advice would be to stick to either the cheese fondue or chocolate fondue(chocolate fondue being the best type of all). Skip the forgettable salads as well. On the positive side it seems most tables are fairly private and large. They allow you time to enjoy your meal at no point did I feel rushed to leave even though it was a busy Saturday night. It can get fairly pricey with drinks and doing a 4 course menu(I think we came in around $ 135(T&T inc.) a couple — a large amount to spend when you are doing most of the cooking). I would probably like to return after having a good dinner elsewhere and come here for a leisurely dessert of chocolate fondue.

The first thing I didn’t like was that when you walked in you felt like you were walking into a Friday’s. Trust me, the price was nothing like Friday’s. There was also an undescribable odor, probably from all the food being cooked all around the restaurant. I had a groupon and we did get a decent amount of food with it. I can’t say I loved the food, but it was ok. We did the fondue by you with the wine cooking style, I forget what the name was. It wasn’t that good, I would recommend a different cooking style. I got shrimp, ahi tuna, and the filet mignon. The only thing I really liked was the filet mignon. Also, they do give you a lot of dipping sauces, but they all tasted funky. I’m also not too picky, so for me to say that means something. We also got dessert and drinks. The drink I had tasted watered down, even though it was a martini. The dark and dulce fondue was ok but very very salty. Also the dippers were not fresh. The rice Krispy treat was hard, the pound cake tasted like it was frozen. It was way too over priced for what we got. The service wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. Overall, this place was below mediocre, when I expected much more.

This was literally one of the most dissatisfying, uncomfortable, overpriced dining experiences I’ve had on LI, and among all the strip malls and chain restos, that’s really saying something. On the one hand, I’m really glad I had a Groupon. On the other hand, it was still a waste of money. First of all, they claimed to be booked solid so they wouldn’t seat us earlier than our 5:15 reservation(which yes, is blue-haired early, but huzzy had somewhere to go afterward). Went to the bar to kill some time, and were overcharged for our drinks. Okay, whatever. Sat down, took us about 10 minutes to even be greeted by the most blasé server ever. Another 10 to get our waters. We placed our orders, thinking the meal would take a while, and asked about the house salad dressing. Waitress says, «Well, it’s sweet and tangy» … which is exactly what it says on the menu, word for word. Obviously, I do not get this dressing. They came out and were nondescript, and the California one with spring mix was mixed with cheap iceberg. Cutting corners already on a tiny salad! Still, no big deal. We got the coq au vin upgrade. The broth sat at the table for ten minutes simmering, and the wine mix-in came with the meats. This seemed silly to me, since I always boil off wine when I braise and cook, and she said that it was immediately ready for dipping. We waited anyway. Another awkward moment — she narrated EVERYTHING. She literally said, «I’m setting your plates down now.» The filet was not tender, but then again, steak isn’t really meant to be boiled. The teriyaki sirloin was just silly, since the sauce boils off anyway. The duck was DROWNING in cinnamon and cloves, and did not mix well with the coq au vin. The herb-crusted pork was actually very good, and the Memphis was okay. The shrimp was blah, not really absorbing any flavors, making the five dipping sauces necessary … but those sauces FURTHER muddy the flavors of the broth(little as that was) and marinades. Taste was over the place! The portions were tiny. I could go to a supermarket and pay $ 4 for that same amount of meat. The Fondue by You was literally probably about 2 – 4 ounces of meat in its raw form. Four cubes of steak, for example. The vegetables were absurd. Two florets of broccoli and two mushrooms per person, and maybe one fingerling potato per person. Also, for a «romantic» restaurant, isn’t having to use an app(which, btw, give your customers free WiFi if you need them to be online!) counterintuitive to spending quality time? Granted, most people come for the chocolate and cheese, but I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Uncomfortable service, bland, bland food without even salt on the table, no direction in terms of flavors, and way overpriced. If I’m going to cook my own food, make it a nice bulgogi or spicy hot pot, but I’m gonna pass on this meager excuse. That’s what I get for eating at a chain/franchise, I guess!
