Ive been coming here a lot over the past two months for a fun night out. Lately it seems to be either hit or miss. Some nights its super packed and really fun, and other nights its fairly empty for a club-esque bar. I really have to say that I hate the live bands that perform here. I have not heard one decent sounding band, so thats disappointing. Also the DJ is just ok, he’ll go from playing todays hits, to random out of place old songs that kill the vibe. Also the DJ and Live Band consistently go back and forth, which is annoying. I do like the $ 3 Bud Light specials they have on the weekends, as well as the promotion they have for your birthday(come anytime the month of your birthday and you get free admission, a free drink, and a free shot for up to 15 of your friends).

This has been and continues to be the go-to for me and my friends if we are looking to go out for a night out of drinks and dancing. We’ve been coming here for the past 4 years and have plenty of memories to speak to and good times! The younger crowd(20⁄30 years old) seems to come in around 11pm. There is a visible age change over between 10pm and 11pm. The specials are good and the place is fun! I highly suggest going to the Nutty for any girls night or group night out! It does get quite a bit crowded though as many people agree it’s the go-to on the weekend.

Food was delicious had the grilled chicken and it was just spicy enough. The fries were awesome shoe string fries. The waitress/bartender was nice and helpful when the gift card I had didn’t work and she went and researched it in the office and found it had the balance on it.

Went for drinks worth a freind. Live music on a Saturday night was 45 rpm. A 70s band. Good time. Danced to some oldies. Very crowded and loud. It was a mature crowd. The cougars were on the prowl lol

This review is purely for the weekend nightlife. This is my one and only go to place for dancing. They are always having drink specials and great DJs and bands. I’ve gone for the past three Halloweens in a row and regret nothing. They have $ 1000 grand prize costume contests every year and people really do go all out! The place gets crowded, but comfortable crowded. The bathrooms are always as clean as they can get them for the type of venue it is. There is also a free coat check. Cover is usually $ 5 – 10 depending on the day. Chances are you’ll find me here haha!

Came here recently. Don’t like the cover. Was just looking to stop in for a beer or two for some music and the cover charge is a little hefty. We ended up getting in because we had someone who was celebrating a birthday, so we got let it for free thankfully. Beer on tap was horrible. Something is wrong with their system doesn’t seem fresh. Small heads(if any) on the beer, and some of the drafts had some strange tastes to it. One of my friends even had a beer a little sour. Wouldn’t come back here. Definitely better beer bars in farmingdale, but if you like live music you’re kind of stuck with this place.

This review is for nightlife only. I have mixed feelings about Nutty. Pro: $ 1 buds on certain weekend nights(not bud lights, just buds) Con: They charge an insane cover. Pro: Music is decent on Friday and Saturday nights. Con: They interrupt the DJ set every so often to have a not so great live band perform. If you’ve just been twerkin your little heart out, hearing live 90s alternative music will definitely kill the vibe Pro: They have an outside area with a bar Con: Everyone smokes in that area, and those steps can get treacherous. And that’s apparently the area where guys feel they have the right to grab at you and tell you how successful they are. Do it if you’re in your early 20s. Skip it otherwise.

AYCE wings on Wednesday night for $ 10.95 were awesome! The sauces had great flavor and I recommend the whiskey flavor one they have. Our waitress was lovely. Just wish the«ridiculously hot» wings were actually really hot, they just weren’t. Still tasty though. A DJ came later on in the night and played some good music. Old and new songs. My friends agreed that we would be coming here instead of croxelys from now on for wings, hopefully they will offer more wing night deals instead of only Wednesday’s

This is one of my favorite places on the island to go! Great drink specials even on the weekend! The place is huge and your almost never crammed in like sardines. Always plenty of room to dance if you choose and having two bars is great to minimize your wait for a drink. Counted about 20 taps at the big bar. Coat check is free and the back parking lot always has room. One of the biggest draws to The Nutty Irishman is the band Ready in 10 the frequently plays there, great music, great drinks and great friends! What else is there!

LOVETHENUTTY!!! The staff and owner are always amazing, the dollar beer and 2 dollar shot specials every Friday night are the best! I live in Farmingdale so it’s very convenient for me!

The Nutty is the Nutty. The only reason I would hesitate to give it 5 stars(even though I still gave it 5) is for a reason that has nothing to do with the establishment and everything to do with the fact that it’s a high school reunion every time you go(if you’re from Farmingdale), and some nights I’m just not up for it. That’s not the bar’s problem though, that’s a Farmingdale problem– Farmingdale is full of «cool kids» who never leave so they can feel like they still run their hometown. That aside, the Nutty is always a good time. A cover is a cover, no one wants to pay it because it’s the only bar on Main that asks for one(aside from Library on Lifeguard Night which you want to avoid like it’s an ornery grandma with an especially rigid cane who enjoys whacking people on the shins), HOWEVER they offer up Nutty G.I.F.T.(Get In Free Tonight) card nights quite often, so just hop on that and you’ll save yourself a ton of money. The card gets you free admission for a year. It pays off after a few visits, especially if you can get it on the nights when it’s $ 24. The cover is understandable though, because the Nutty is the only bar on Main Street that feels like it’s got one foot in «bar» and one foot in «club.» There’s a pretty substantial dance floor, a DJ booth, and a stage. The cover bands are great. It gets crowded, but it’s never overwhelming(only on obvious nights like TGE and whatnot). Dollar beer nights are a shit show in the absolute best sense of the word – and considering how that place can get packed the staff is great and keeps the bathrooms and other areas incredibly clean. Speaking of the staff, everyone there rocks. The bartenders are really awesome and the male ones are extremely friendly and polite without being creepy(difficult thing to do). The lady bartenders are approachable(also difficult), the bouncers are nice and John is ALWAYS there being a G and saying«hi» and making sure no one fucks around on his watch. Really, the Nutty is a great establishment whose only mark on its reputation is the occasional dickwad in the crowd and the FHS5 year reunion that is every other night. That’s not a bad gig, at all. I’ve gone there on slow nights and busy nights and I’ve always had a good time. Also, the outdoor patio is awesome when it’s nice out. A game changer! I will miss you when I leave, Nutty.

I’m torn between three and four stars. I like the Nutty. There, I said it. I like that they are the only bar in Farmingdale that has live music. I like that they have really good drink specials. I like that it is the bggest bar in town by FAR. I like that there’s a small outdoor area. I don’t like that it;s the only bar in town with a cover, but on nights with live cover bands it’s usually worth it. $ 8 now on the weekends, isn’t terrible, I’ve paid more for less. It does, though, make me hesitant to go. There’s usually a line outside to pay to get in, which makes me weary. farmingdale has become a bar-hop town. You go to two or five bars in one night, which makes a stop at the Nutty(the only with a cover and the farthest separated bar in town) a less-than-desirable option. On one weekend towards the end of the year they sell a pass to get you in for free for the entire following year. This is a great value if you know you’ll be going a lot. Anyway, about the actual experience inside: The bar is relatively clean, as far as I can tell. It is firmly in between dive-bar and bar/venue level of cleanliness, if that means anything. The front area consists of a normal-sized bar on the left, with a few tables on the right for food service. Behind that is the venue section. It’s layout is a large square bar on the left, and in the back right corner is the stage and dance floor. The back left corner is the coat check, and between is the hall to the back and the restrooms. I’m the first to admit that I hate crowds. The Nutty always gets crowded, but it doesn’t get jam-packed most nights. Holidays and any time the college kids are home from school it will be jammed, but apart fromt hat it’s at least manageable. You may not be able to see your friends if you leave for a minute, but once you do, you’ll be able to navigate your way back to them. Most of the bands that I’ve seen there play decent to really good cover versions of popular songs from the 90s and 2000s. Pink Noise, a popular cover band that has played at my college every year I was there, plays here occasionally. Catch them if you can, they’re great.

I enjoy hitting up The Nutty every once in a while when I am in Farmingdale and I occasionally visit it on purpose. They run drink specials regularly, but they can be confusing. I am not a fan at all of paying a cover charge to go to a bar, but they do provide live music when there is a cover. However, $ 8 — $ 10 is a bit steep for a bar(this is not a swanky night club). A $ 5 cover charge for live music would be more livable. All in all, I have had good times here with some of my peeps and would recommend people at least check it out when they are in the area.

By far the most unprofessional bar ive ever been to. The cover charge is out of control, the drinks are overpriced, the food isnt anything special. They let tons of underage kids in every night, so dont be surprised if the cops show up if youre there one night. The owner and managers are a bunch of nasty miserable people who only care about getting as many underage kids in as possible since thats how they make most of their money. Overall, theres plenty of other bars on this strip so dont waste your time **in response to the comment from John C, I can guarantee that there is underage kids getting in. There would be nights that we would be there and people in my sisters grade(11th grade) were getting in. Maybe you should take a second look at those out of state fake IDs. I also do not believe in your«highly trained» staff seeing that these kids are still getting in. Youve only been in business for 10 years because all of the high schoolers know that they can get in here easily and feed you there money. I will most definitely NEVER step foot in here again and will make sure to spread the word. My friends and I have also reported our concerns to the local police.

[Speaking strictly about nightlife.] Nutty is a nice venue in Farmingdale that’s pretty well-known among the Long Island community. Especially Nassau. On weekend’s its an $ 8 cover… pretty unusual amount but nonetheless I think it’s worth it. Coat check is free(which it should be with that cover amount) so that’s a huge plus. One thing I cannot stand is going dancing with my friends and having to either: A. Lug a giant coat throughout the dancefloor and risk it being stolen… which has happened to the best of us. B. Freeze in the winter and regret every second that you didn’t grab another layer. And wait on that platform for the LIRR which seems like forever. Again, another shining moment. To be honest the crowd here is decent. I came with my girls and we weren’t bombarded like in other places we’ve been to. We were able to dance and enjoy ourselves. There’s 2 bar areas which are pretty decent in size. I think the drinks are a bit watered down, but hey I guess it all depends on the person pouring. Then there’s a nice sized dancefloor with a stage for the live bands. The music here was a solid mix of club/house music as well as some live«classics» that you can belt your heart out to. Overall, I’d definitely come back here. It’s not near my LIRR line but hey. There’s a good crowd, live music, quick time to get drinks and plenty of space so I don’t have to be rubbing against drunk strangers. Who wants that anyway? Not me.

Went here for a roller derby after party and they really took care of us! Food was good, service was great, and they gave us free beer and fries! Thank you Long Island!
